Master of Kaidan
Chapter 349

Chapter 349: 349

Name: Phantasmal Item - The Ghost Hand That Can Do Anything but Kill the Streamer

Elements: [Ghost], [Devouring Master], [Omnipotence], [Failure], [Mysterious and Unpredictable]

Description: A ghost that was provoked by a streamer during a live broadcast. It possesses both mysterious and unpredictable abilities and powerful strength. It can gamble with a gambling ghost and duel with evil spirits, bring misfortune, and ignore distances.

It seems committed to killing the streamer it possesses, but unfortunately, it has never been able to fulfill this long-standing wish.

In the process of aiming to "personally kill the possessed streamer," this hand can do anything related to this goal, but all of its efforts often end up being futile.

Note: You can ask it to do something for you, but only if it helps in killing you.

...

Feng Xue was actually a bit disappointed with this ghost hand because its name’s "capable of anything" was slightly different from what he expected.

If forced to say, this is a character similar to Tom in Tom and Jerry. For it, "personally" killing the "possessed streamer" is almost like Tom catching Jerry.

In order to catch a mouse, Tom can learn to play the piano, clean, make explosives and cannons, and even pull out bizarre things from subspace.

The same applies to this ghost hand, as long as the goal is to "personally" kill the "streamer," it can do and learn anything.

However, if it doesn’t involve killing the streamer, it’s not that it cannot learn or do it, but rather it will not bother to do it.

However, despite this thing having a certain degree of autonomy, its essence is still that of a spectral item, not a kaidan or a sign of bad omen or anything like that; it’s more like a machine that follows certain operational rules and just happens to have many functions.

"Interesting," Feng Xue mused, staring at the ghost hand that could vanish or appear at his will, even making itself disappear from photos like the White Ghost Hand. He then voiced an idea to test it out:

"Pour me a glass of water."

Upon hearing Feng Xue’s command, the ghost hand trembled slightly, clenched its fist as if it had heard some incredibly insulting words, then it posed like it was holding its chin in thought, suddenly raising a finger. Although it only had one hand, it didn’t stop one from imagining a light bulb appearing above it.

Then, Feng Xue saw the hand pulling a glass out of thin air, pouring into it water from an unknown source, and then grinding out a bottle marked with a skull, which obviously had a poison vibe.

In that moment, Feng Xue could almost imagine Tom’s wicked chuckle of "kekeke" when doing something bad.

Watching the hand add colorless and tasteless poison to the glass and then, as if stifling a laugh, trembling slightly and presenting the water like it was a high-class red wine to Feng Xue.

Looking at the glass with what seemed like a cloud shaped like a skull floating above it, Feng Xue couldn’t help but look at the hand and wonder - is there something wrong with you, or with me?

Even though, theoretically, the cup of water shouldn’t be able to kill him, Feng Xue ultimately didn’t try it out - who knows if seeing the poisoning process was the reason it couldn’t kill him?

However, he didn’t just throw the water away either; instead, he pretended to take a sip. But since he was actually wearing two layers of armor, the water never reached his mouth and was filtered out by the armor’s recycling system.

Yet under the influence of the Hermit Power, it appeared as though he actually drank the water, and even the spectral hand, being a phantasmal entity, didn’t realize anything was amiss.

The ghost hand, upon seeing Feng Xue drink the poisoned water, immediately exaggerated various comical poses, much as a person might dance and laugh triumphantly after a successful assassination.

Just moments later, as Feng Xue showed no signs of distress, the ghost hand stiffened, then incredulously moved closer to the cup of poison, carefully extended a finger, dipped it into the water, and then...

"Owow—"

Though there was actually no sound, watching the ghost hand suddenly leap up and crash through the ceiling, Feng Xue felt this sound effect would have been appropriate for such an exaggerated scene.

Soon, the battered ghost hand fell from the ceiling, the whole hand wilted, making Feng Xue feel a twinge of guilt.

"If you didn’t have five fingers, I might suspect you came from a cat..."

Feng Xue rolled her eyes but also figured out some of the logic behind this creature’s behavior.

First, left unattended, it would concoct various schemes to try to kill her. Second, any command she issued would be twisted into a method it could use to attempt to kill her.

She could have it do small chores, but she had to be careful of the trouble it could cause. Making good use of it was still quite challenging.

However, there was one thing she could confirm; it was meant to "Protect the Master," or maybe better described as "Protect the Food"? Because its goal was to "personally" kill the streamer, which meant that if someone else tried to kill the streamer, it would actually protect him.

"Although it’s not as invincible as I imagined, if used wisely, it can be quite a powerful tool... Ah, the only problem is not to let it cook, or god knows what it might put in."

Feng Xue grinned as two fingers jabbed towards her eyes. She quickly turned and dodged the attack, then took a fighting stance, ready to engage in a fist-to-fist brawl to test its combat abilities.

Seeing Feng Xue’s stance, the ghost hand paused slightly, then hovered in the air, assuming a Bruce Lee-style provocative pose, signaling Feng Xue to attack first.

Feng Xue didn’t cater to it. Her inner strength surged, and she threw a punch of Heavenly Demon’s Various Forms. An ordinary-looking punch instantly split into numerous twisted fist shadows, twisted and indescribable.

However, this ghost hand, faced with a punch that even ordinary martial arts experts would dread, did not flinch at all but instead raised its hand to meet hers, easily catching her fist and deflecting it to the side.

An expert reveals themselves immediately upon making a move, and in that moment, Feng Xue gained a general understanding of the ghost hand’s prowess in martial arts.

Just then, her communication device suddenly vibrated; no pop-up window appeared, so Feng Xue immediately realized it was a message intended for another identity.

Seeing this, the ghost hand didn’t stop attacking but instead launched a punch eerily similar to Feng Xue’s Heavenly Demon’s Various Forms punch she had used earlier.

But such a move, using the opponent’s tactics against them, was utterly meaningless against "Mystical Lord," and before the move even reached her, Feng Xue’s yellow robe billowed up from behind her, violently stuffing the ghost hand into the storage bag.

Ignoring the ghost hand, Feng Xue glanced at the terminal number, quickly changed her apparel, and after completing facial recognition, Dunn Simoni reappeared.

Then, he opened the email, his lips curving slightly upward, because the letter indeed came from the top consortium in the city—Ziguang. Unsurprisingly, the content was a request to capture a ghost. But interestingly, one line in the commission was exceptionally clear—

Alive only.

"Tsk tsk, such a familiar address indeed, responding so quickly?" Dunn Simoni smirked, stood up, and adjusted his rugged tweed coat, beginning to contemplate his next script.
