Chapter 231: 230. USA vs Wakanda -2
----
The figure who leapt into battle needed no introduction.
T’Challa.
The Black Panther.
Protector of Wakanda.
When his eyes locked onto Abomination, he understood instantly that this was no conventional war.
"Damn these invaders... damn America," T’Challa growled inwardly.
He had once admired the United States ’ technology, their innovation. He even considered them the first to establish diplomatic relations after Wakanda’s global reveal.
Now?
He saw the rot beneath the surface.
A nation built on blood, fueled by conquest.
All his goodwill toward the U.S. had evaporated the moment he saw soldiers landing on African soil.
He charged forward, claws gleaming with kinetic energy, aiming for the juggernaut barreling through his people.
Abomination turned, sneering. "Three-star enhanced at best. You’re just a suit made of fancy metal."
He cracked his knuckles.
"Back when we thought Stark built your suit, we underestimated your country. Turns out your nation’s been hiding a gold mine."
The U.S. military had analyzed T’Challa’s every public appearance, from the U.N. summit to battlefield engagements. Their metahuman ranking system, enhanced by data from Nolan’s evaluations, placed him at a modest Tier-3. Only dangerous with his suit.
Abomination? Tier-7 and above. A monster in both strength and endurance.
"Out of my way, kitty."
T’Challa’s response was pure fury.
He lunged faster than the eye could track vibranium claws slashing through the air.
Abomination laughed and swung his fist like a wrecking ball.
BOOM!
The sheer force displaced the air, cracking trees and soil. But T’Challa twisted mid-air, flipping over the attack with acrobatic precision. In a blink, his claws raked across Abomination’s forearm.
Slash!
Two deep gashes bloomed red.
"You little—!" Abomination roared.
He hadn’t expected the speed or the precision.
Gone was the smug grin.
He got serious.
Now moving with calculated aggression, Abomination’s massive fists pounded at the Panther. But T’Challa, shielded by vibranium mesh, danced and slashed. Every strike left another bloody wound.
"Damn this metal!" Abomination cursed. "I can’t even land a clean hit!"
T’Challa’s suit absorbed and redirected kinetic energy, letting him tank blows most soldiers wouldn’t survive. But even he had limits.
Abomination realized the suit was the key.
So he changed tactics.
With a sudden feint, he snatched T’Challa mid-lunge catching the King in a crushing grip.
"Gotcha, little kitty."
He started pulling intent on tearing off the vibranium suit piece by piece.
But then—
WHOOSH!
A golden blast slammed into Abomination’s chest.
He reeled backward, crashing into the dirt.
Iron Man landed beside T’Challa.
"You really know how to make an entrance," Stark muttered.
T’Challa nodded, breathing heavily. "Appreciate the timing."
But there was no time for pleasantries.
Behind them, a new threat emerged.
The front lines were shifting.
Dozens of soldiers, previously stalled, now advanced led by figures impervious to Wakanda’s energy weapons.
T’Challa turned, eyes narrowing.
They looked human but moved like tanks. Laser lances deflected off their skin. Vibranium bursts failed to pierce their armor.
From the rear, W’Kabi barked out, "Their armor’s resisting our energy weapons!"
These weren’t normal men.
They were the product of the Iron Flesh Project soldiers enhanced by Dr. Shen, built for durability over mortality. Every one of them cost lives to create, but the U.S. military had plenty of bodies to sacrifice.
"This is just the vanguard," Tony said grimly. "More are coming."
This was the real face of military-industrial greed. When profit aligned with national interest, morality vanished.
"Shen..." T’Challa growled. "Shuri, activate the sonic weapons."
Energy hadn’t worked?
Then it was time for Plan B.
---
The shimmering dome of Wakanda’s cloaking field pulsed then vanished.
No more hiding.
Towering skyscrapers, gleaming tech-hubs, and intricate alien-like structures revealed themselves to the world.
The battlefield went silent for a second.
Even the U.S. troops stopped.
They hadn’t expected this.
This was no jungle tribe.
This was a city of the future.
Within moments, sleek vibranium ships lifted from hidden platforms, hovering silently in formation.
They bore no missiles.
Just long, curved metallic pylons glowing with arcane runes and advanced circuitry.
The ships passed over the armored soldiers.
No explosions.
No bullets.
Just a strange, vibrating hum.
And then—
Collapse.
Dozens of soldiers dropped, clutching their ears, eyes, and heads.
The ones directly under the ships died instantly blood pouring from every orifice.
"Sonic warfare," Tony muttered. "Brutal. Efficient."
The rest of the army recoiled in horror.
One type of weapon had cost them thousands. Now, a second deadlier had joined the fight.
This was the cost of invading Wakanda.
---
Back at the U.S. command, generals stood in stunned silence.
"This... this can’t be right," one muttered.
"I thought we had the most advanced military on Earth..."
But that illusion had shattered.
Today, they were the "primitive invaders."
Today, they were Rome charging into Atlantis.
"Push forward!" Ross screamed, trying to salvage the situation.
But the battlefield told a different story.
Wakanda was winning.
