Chapter 211 – Falling Into the Sea
"Oh no!"
Although Richard couldn't stop it in time, his mind reacted the moment the container holding the cosmic storm sample was snatched from his hands.
Watching Rumlow leap out of the plane, he knew there was no way he could chase him down. He hurriedly turned to Ben.
"Hey! Thing! They took the cosmic storm sample. That thing is extremely important. We have to get it back!"
Ben nodded at those words, but he didn’t move. He couldn’t fly. He was just a big pile of rock. So, he said to Richard calmly, "Don’t worry. The Human Torch is outside. He’ll take care of it.”
As he spoke, he stepped in front of the couple and shielded them from the remaining enemy attacks. Using his nearly indestructible body and brute strength, he easily knocked every agent to the floor.

Meanwhile, outside the plane.
Susan had created an invisible force field around herself, and Johnny was flying at full speed, pushing the shield like a protective bubble through the sky.
This was how the Fantastic Four usually moved when there was no time to get their jet. Johnny was the one who carried the others.
Of course, when Rumlow burst out of the plane and began falling toward the ocean, the two of them had seen it clearly.
"Johnny, you go after him. Ben and I will handle getting the plane down safely."
"Got it!"
Johnny gave a quick nod, then let go of the force field.
Susan followed through by deactivating the barrier and landed steadily on the wing of the aircraft.
Seeing the plane take more and more damage from the wind pressure, she frowned and focused completely. Her invisible force field stretched out like a thin film, wrapping around it and gradually slowing down the now pilotless vessel.

On the other side, Johnny dived after Rumlow, quickly catching up with the free falling agent.
"Hey! You didn’t really think jumping out of the plane would let you escape, right?”
He flew circles around the man as he dropped, his relaxed and playful movements a sharp contrast to Rumlow’s tense and grim expression.
But that was the truth—this was the sky, and when it came to aerial combat, Johnny was in his element.
"Hand over the cosmic storm sample and I’ll save you. That way, you won’t end up splattered across the ocean."
At this altitude, hitting the sea was no different than hitting concrete. No matter how well-trained Rumlow was, at the end of the day, he was still just a regular human.
But instead of panicking, the agent looked at Johnny with contempt.
"The Fantastic Four? Just a bunch of clowns pushed out by LexCorp. You think you're worthy of barking in front of me?" He sneered coldly as he bit down on a capsule hidden in his mouth.
It was a special Scarlet Serum, independently developed by S.H.I.E.L.D., designed to dramatically boost power in a single dose. Though ingesting it wasn’t as effective as an injection, the agency had raised the concentration to such an extreme level that any loss in efficiency was fully made up by sheer potency.
In an instant, Rumlow’s body erupted in a crimson glow and a sharp, piercing beam of red energy shot straight toward Johnny.
"Holy crap! What the hell is that?!" Johnny shouted, stunned.
He had only just begun his journey as a superhero and had never faced a real superhuman opponent. He hadn’t even gone up against any criminals enhanced by serum yet, so he was still lacking in experience.
However, with his ability to fly at supersonic speed, Johnny's reaction time was far beyond human limits.
Though he was inexperienced, he managed to dodge the attack. But the sudden move threw off his balance, allowing Rumlow to pull farther away.
Noticing the ocean getting closer and closer, Johnny realized he couldn't afford to stall anymore. His flames didn’t require fuel, but they did need oxygen to burn. And once he hit the water, he wouldn’t be able to reignite.
"You’re not getting away!"
Abandoning any thoughts of toying with his opponent, Johnny launched a direct attack. Both hands flared as he hurled a blazing fireball at the falling Rumlow.
The agent immediately felt the intense heat closing in. He shifted his position in midair and opened his mouth, firing another blast of crimson laser energy. The beam pierced straight through Johnny’s fireball, and the resulting explosion turned the entire sky above them a burning red.
"Damn it!"
Johnny didn’t hesitate. He dove straight into the fireball’s explosion. Being someone who could burn all over, he wasn’t afraid of the flames. But even so, he didn’t dare get too close to the agent now.
After taking the serum, the lasers Rumlow could fire were a serious threat, even for him. Rushing in blindly would only get him hurt.
Johnny might have lacked experience, but even he could recognize when something was clearly dangerous. Still, as he rushed out from the flames and locked back onto Rumlow, a new idea sparked in his mind.
He threw another fireball. But this time, he didn’t aim at the agent, letting it pass him and crash into the sea below.
"What?"
Rumlow didn’t understand at first. Then, a second later, it hit him.
He had assumed that Johnny’s fire would fizzle out once it touched the ocean. But now, that fireball exploded right on the surface of the water, triggering a massive blast. The explosion created a giant wave that smashed into him mid-fall, throwing off his balance.
"Shit!!!"
His body tilted and twisted from the impact. The sudden drag slowed his fall just enough for Johnny to surge in from the side, reaching out to grab the container tucked in the agent’s arms.
"Don’t even think about it!"
Rumlow’s eyes widened as he roared. In a split-second decision, he slammed his fist hard into his own chest, triggering the injection of another serum—one hidden beneath his bulletproof vest. It was the Yin-Yang Serum, a heavily concentrated compound just like the one he'd taken earlier.
The power of the two serums clashed violently inside his body, generating energy so intense it nearly tore him apart.
But in return, he gained a temporary surge of both powers. Black and white energy swirled around him, rapidly boosting his physical strength.
As Johnny charged in, Rumlow launched a punch with all his strength.
"What the hell? Are you trying to die?!"
Caught off guard, Johnny raised both arms to block, but the sheer force of the strike sent him flying, knocking him out of the air. He crashed into the sea at almost the same time Rumlow did.
When he resurfaced, the flames on his body had already gone out. He scanned the water, but the agent was nowhere to be seen.
‘Is he dead?’
The thought crossed his mind, but Johnny shook his head.
'No... the Yin-Yang serum gives a huge boost. He's probably badly injured, but in this kind of place...'
After a while, Susan arrived with Ben, having successfully guided the damaged plane to land safely in the nearby waters. They pulled Johnny out of the sea, but the sample of the cosmic storm was gone without a trace.
