Chapter 261
As their hands touched for a friendly greeting, Azzura’s heart skipped a beat, instantly forming an unspoken connection.
Overwhelmed by an inexplicable surge of emotion, she impulsively leaned in while he spoke, pressing her soft lips against Avi’s, momentarily taking him by surprise.
Time seemed to stand still as their lips met, an electric current flowing through their bodies, filling the atmosphere with an aura of tenderness and desire.
Their lips met again and again, each one more passionate than the last. As they kissed, they held onto each other tightly.
Azzura felt alive when their tongues danced across their mouths, their breaths mingling together. She could feel every inch of their skin touching one another sending shivers down her spine.
The heat radiating off both of them was palpable even through layers of clothing. She had never been so attracted to someone else like this... ever!
She wanted nothing more than for things to progress further.
Their passionate kiss, though brief, conveyed volumes of unspoken words and desires, as if a lifetime of longing had been encapsulated within that stolen moment.
Slowly, they pulled away, their breaths mingling in the air, a shared smile adorning their faces.
Azzura’s fingertips tingled with the thrill of connection as they lingered on Avi’s cheek, their eyes locked in a trance of mutual affection.
Avi’s voice broke the silence, a gentle tremor laced with wonder, "Azzura, I... I didn’t expect this, but I’m grateful for it."
Azzura’s eyes sparkled with a mixture of excitement and vulnerability.
"Neither did I, Avi," she admitted, her voice filled with sincerity. "But there’s something about you that drew me to you instantly. I couldn’t resist the urge to feel your lips against mine."
Avi reached behind his neck and clasped Azzura’s hand, his touch reassuring and tender. "I feel it too, Azzura. There’s an undeniable connection between us. I really wish we do not deny ourselves the chance to explore where this could lead."
The way he looked at her sent shivers down her spine making her feel weak in the knees. It took all the strength she had left in her body to keep standing upright without falling over from dizziness.
With a mixture of excitement and trepidation, they settled on the rock, their hands still intertwined, as they began to share their stories, hopes, and dreams.
Azzura broke away from Avi reluctantly but still kept hold of his hand while looking into his eyes with a longing gaze.
"I have a feeling we will see each other again soon," she said with a smile. "I hope you’re okay with that?" she asked with a nervous smile. "I don’t want you thinking I’m some kind of floozy or anything."
"Floozy?!" he exclaimed incredulously.
He laughed heartily then leaned forward and kissed her softly once more before pulling back slightly, gazing deeply into her eyes.
His voice softened as he spoke, "You are not just any woman, Azurra; no matter what anyone else says about you... You know how much I care for you right now because it is true. And even though our time together hasn’t been that long, it feels like years since I’ve seen your face..."
Azzura felt herself blush at his sweet words which made him chuckle gently at her reaction. She smiled shyly at him when he continued speaking.
"And yes, I am fine with seeing you again very soon. In fact, I would love nothing better than to spend every waking moment with you until my last breath leaves me."
Azzura was overwhelmed by the sincerity in Avi’s tone and expression. Her cheeks flushed red hot under the intensity of his stare.
She could feel her pulse racing through her veins as she stared up into those beautiful blue eyes filled with desire.
As if sensing this, Avi pulled her closer against himself so their bodies were pressed tightly together. Their lips met passionately once more as their hands roamed across one another’s skin sending tingles throughout both of them.
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, each revelation further deepening their understanding of one another. They spoke of their childhoods, their passions, and the desires they had quietly harboured.
Time seemed to lose its significance as they revelled in the enchantment of their connection, their words accompanied by tender gazes and fleeting touches.
As the night drew on, their bond grew stronger with an undeniable force, finding solace in each other’s company.
The night seemed endless but eventually they parted ways after sharing a few more kisses. They promised each other a second date but agreed it should be a little longer before meeting again.
As Azzura walked away toward the palace gates, a sense of melancholy washed over her leaving a heavy feeling within her chest.
She knew things between them went beyond friendship or simple attraction; there was something deeper brewing beneath the surface that neither wanted to acknowledge yet alone explore further.
A part of her wished that time would stand still while she savoured these moments with him; however, reality intruded on her thoughts reminding her that time did not wait for anyone—not even for queens.

Ora on the other hand wondered when she was going to get the time to visit her sister and warn her of the impending disaster that was to follow.
As much as she tried to hide things from Gabriel, he was relatively understanding and watchful of her.
Each time she closed her eyes, she found herself revisiting what happened in her dream.
And then there were those strange men dressed in black robes whom no one seemed to know anything about except their presence unsettled everyone present.
They appeared out of nowhere without any warning only to disappear equally quickly once their task had been completed in her dream.
It was so unsettling, she wished her hope and light would be there with her.
She heaved a sigh at this thought knowing full well how foolish it sounded considering all that had transpired since arriving here.
She felt like such a fool...
’How could I have ever believed my dreams meant anything? It’s just a coincidence! Nothing more than an illusion brought forth by some unknown force trying to manipulate me into doing its bidding, right?’
Ora wasn’t sure what she was thinking anymore. She wanted to hope it was all wrong, a figment of her imagination or the universe playing its game on her but still, the dread that reigned in her heart and mind told her otherwise.
Denial was best at times, perhaps but she knew with her powers, denials were her way of procrastinating the deadly inevitable.
Her mind wandered back to the events leading up to the attack which left many dead including her family who perished during the battle. A great loss that made the earth bitter.
"I must meet with her."
"Meet with who?"
Her eyes flew open at the familiar voice and she froze in place as if someone had doused her body with ice water.
Her breath caught as fear gripped her throat making speech difficult for several seconds before finally finding words again. "Gabriel!" Ora exclaimed as she turned around slowly to look at him.
