Chapter 186
"You hate me and that is why you stand to lose more than I do."
At Era’s words, he was convinced that there was nothing else he could do to get back at her. His chest rose and fell as he watched her.
She succeeded in not only disputing his facts but insulting him and his daughter while also making it seem like they were the bad ones.
"So I think if the Lords a d nap is others are being fair and not partial, everyone would see who the real snitch is." She took a pause and allowed her eyes rake through everyone present. "But as we all know, you would not do such and let the culprit go."
"You have no proof against me, your majesty. Your words are just mere speculations. Besides, what were your plans anyways to save the king? All I think, you conspired with Lord Damian and Minister Kale to do all these unspeakable things and now you come here to act as though you are one saint or something."
"Your fear is so obvious that you cower behind lies to make up stories to suit your ego and plan. Since you wish to know the plan, then I would tell you."
Just before she could speak the truth, she felt a hand a top her right hand and she turned her head to the side to see why he had stopped her.
Just one look was all it took and that was the end. She understood what he meant. Although he had not been speaking, he most definitely had been observing like she told him to.
This also meant that he may have seen through Caspian but kept his cool to allow the fool think he was being fooled. Clever and cunnny.
She nodded at him and then relaxed.
"Let me handle things from here. You can leave it to me now," Vidor whispered.
"Fine."
With that, he shot a cold gaze at Caspian and sat properly on his throne. This was time for business and not play. He needed to make them understand that things would not always go as they pleased. They had to beware.
"You see, you cannot state that which was done because you know we would see right through your lies and fault you."
"Whether she says the truth or not, it has already been part of your plan to fault her, am I right?"
"Your majesty...I would never. All I speak are what the clue lead to. She was the one who went out suspiciously yesterday just before the attack. Also she has the most motive to kill you."
"Not everyone with a motive to kill actually ends up killing. Most times it is people with lesser motive of killing that ends up doing the job."
"Your majesty." Caspian was taken aback by his words. How in the world do everything suddenly just turn against him?
Vidor raised his hand a little to silence him as the look in his eyes sudden turned cold and deadly. All these while he had not only allowed but forgiven their actions just to test them but Caspian mistook such silence as stupidity and used it to his advantage in insulting Era and making her look stupid before his people whereas he was the one who was silently digging his own grave.
"You have the nerve, huh?" Vidor began, sending chills down the spine of all those present.
GULP!
Cold sweat broke out on his forehead when he heard Vidor’s no nonsense voice.
"Your majesty..."
"SILENCE!"
"You did not just accuse my queen, you also insulted her, called her a liar, said so many things and right in my presence. What were you hoping to gain by doing that?"
"Your majesty. I dare not do that. I was only looking out for you. I did not mean to offend you."
"Seiously, you called her a person incapable of love. So are you saying I do not know the kind of person I married? If she was so incapable of love, why would she kiss me, tend to me, take care of me and lie with me? To cover her act? You think I would be so dumb enough not to see through that? Or do you think my aueeen would throw herself on a man cheaply like your daughter did?"
GBAGHAN!
Everyone’s eyes went wide. Although most of them knew the news, because one or two persons had seen her run out from the king’s chambers and that was how word spread about it but no one had the guts to ask either path about it and were left with their guessing game.
But now, not only did Vodr expose it, he said that in comparison to her worst enemy, hos queen.
Ofclurse the Lady Diona could not compare to his wife but people had expected he would be more cautious.
Before even if Caspian wasn’t plotting against him, but with his actions, he would definitely do something as a pay back for the insult she received.
"Your majesty, my daughter would..."
"Do you also want to call me a liar like you did my queen?" Caspian remained silent. He knew better than to reply that or even try to talk his way out of this with words.
"I guess I have condoned enough of your I solence. Not only did you accuse my queen, you accused my saviors, Daciana no Kale. I see you have a death wish."
Quickly, Caspian went down on his knees and pleaded.
"Youe majesty, please forgive this servant. I never meant to displease you. I only hoped to render my services to you."
"Well let this sink. Your services disgust me."
DANG!
"Let it be written and well known. As of this day, no longer would High Lord Caspian Bastian, is stripped of his title as high Lord and would no longer hold positions pertaining to such. As of now, he remains just a minister of the kingdom, in charge of taxation’s and reforms and from now on would report directly to me concerning all of his affairs. This is done as a lesson to anyone who would insult my widow and queen again. Let it be written. Let it be done. This is my last warning. The next time you so much as repeat such a thing, you would not just have your title removed but be exiled away from the kingdom."
"Your majesty. Please, do not make such an order," Caspain pleaded.
"This is must a lesson. Also I am go ing you an opportunity to repent of your sins and do the right thing."
"Your majesty. No. Please. I promise not to go against the Queen again. Please."
"It is written and it shall be done. As for the conspirators, I would search them out, find them and make them pay. I would not pity anyone so everyone beware. Until then, this is my verdict."
Era clenched her first in her throne’s handle. She did not care if he saw it or not but he just gave her en, y a quick pass with that. How could he not see that Caslian was behind it?
She gave him all the clue and yet he let him off with a degrading of rank? Not only did this prove that he conspired against her people, although she may not have concrete proof but it also proves that he is capable of such.
Then not to speak off, Caspian made an attempt in his life, how clikd he let such a person go scot free? Their lives were at stake but he waved it off. Gosh Era was so mad at Vidor and she could no waitntomstorm of of that assembly.
Was this all she came prepared for? She meant to use this to make him slip ad reopen her family’s case so a proper investigation be done but what did she get?
Aaarrrghhhhhh! VIDOR WAS SO ANNOYING TO HER NOW!
She waited for him to leave so as not to be disrespectful and have these ignorant ministers on her neck. Cause if they came at her, HSE as going to for her anything and everything and attack anyone.p who dared to.
So in order to avoid unnecessary talk with them, she left peacefully.
Once she was sure Vidor had gone, she stood up from her throne, glanced at Caslian again, giving him her warning stare before majestically stomping her way out of the throne room, leaving the others behind.
It was after her departure that the others began to talak nd every one voiced out what they dared not to before Vidor.
"Ingrtaes," she muttered as she stood by the door and took a deep breath. Just from recalling his earlier words, her anger rose again and this time, her goal was set in place towards one person and one place.
Storming angrily in the direction of his chambers, she let her rage decorate her face, as her eyes blazed with untold fury.
