Chapter 64: A Luna Without A Wolf Should Not Exist.

After bathing and getting dressed, Aria called Samantha with the little remote that was given to her.

In less than three minutes, Samantha knocked on the door and entered when she heard, Come in.

Seeing her already dressed up, Samantha asked, "Do you wish to be served breakfast in your room?"

"I would like to eat with the rest." Aria said, to be honest, she was feeling hungry, and if Tristan was here, she would have agreed to eat in her room, but since he wasn’t around, she wanted to eat with the rest of the pack members.

Samantha frowned but replied, "As you wish."

"And after that, I would like to meet my grandmother."

"I will take you there when you are ready." Samantha said and turned to leave, knowing that Aria was following her.

The dining table was located on the first floor, and Aria already saw some people gathered at the table eating and drinking.

The first person who noticed her presence was Nyla as she called out, "Aria."

All the remaining eight members sitting at the table turned their heads to see Aria standing.

They immediately got up and greeted, "Good morning, Luna."

Aria chuckled nervously as she replied, "Good morning."

Nyla got up and led Aria to the head of the table and said, "Since Alpha Tristan isn’t around, you can sit here."

Aria sat and was served with a plate of food and a glass of juice beside her.

Aria’s gaze moved from the glass of juice beside her to the glass of wine everyone else had.

As if sensing her question, Samantha said, "The Alpha has instructed me to ensure that you have no wine."

"How romantic," Nyla said with a smile.

A man named Floyd emptied his glass and asked, "Luna, is there any way you can convince Alpha to move back in again? We all miss him."

The other members muttered in agreement to Floyd.

Before Aria could answer, a girl named Tara said, "What are you saying, Floyd? I doubt our Luna can convince him to stay. The only one who had a chance at that is Lia, and now she is nowhere to be seen."

"Tara." Nyla called the name of the girl with a warning.

Tara shrugged and said "It’s not like I said anything wrong. Everyone knows that apart from Cole, Lia is the only one woman that stays at Tristan side. Isn’t that why Eva went mad with jealousy and killed one of our own, I just hope the same thing won’t happen again."

"I’m not Eva and I’m certain Lia isn’t important for me to be jealous of. It’s just as you have said, she is no where to be seen." Aria said and focus on her food.

Tara glare at Aria and Nyla noticing her glare brought her glass of wine to the lips, giving Tara the middle finger.

Floyd shook his head with a smile seeing Nyla action and his gaze moved to Aria. He wondered why she feels different from other werewolves, it was like she was a human with a werewolf scent but that can’t be, there is nowhere the Alpha would marry a woman who isn’t strong to be by his side, right?

After breakfast, Nyla asked to accompany Aria to see her grandmother, and Aria gladly agreed. With Nyla going along, Samantha decided to stay behind.

As they walked through the grand halls of the pack house, they eventually reached a section of the building dedicated to medical care. Stepping inside, Aria glanced around the well-equipped space.

"This is the health center?" she asked, noting how much it resembled a hospital.

"Yes," Nyla confirmed. "This is where we treat the sick and injured."

Aria looked around once more. "It really does feel like a mini hospital."

Nyla laughed, and then she noticed their healer talking to a young boy. "Slade? What are you doing here?"

Melissa looked at Aria and seeing her red hair, she bowed her head and said "Greetings, Luna."

Slade moved his attention to Aria when he heard Melissa call her Luna. "You are the Alpha’s wife?" He tried to get up from the bed but groaned in pain.

"Forgive me for not being able to greet you properly, Luna."

Even though Aria could not physically see any injury on the young boy’s body, she could tell that he was in pain. "What happened to you?"

"Did those idiots who call themselves warriors bully you again?" Nyla asked with a frown.

"I’m not a kid to get bullied. Derek only disciplines me and nothing else.

Nyla scoffed and raised Slade’s shirt. His stomach was bruised to the point that she won’t be surprised if he has an internal injury.

"I must inform the Alpha about this." Nyla said.

"What? No! Anyone but him; do you want him to see me as a weakling?"

"You are already a weakling; you have just refused to accept it. Why do you even want to become a warrior? You must have already realized by now that you aren’t fit."

Slade glared at Nyla and said, "You know nothing."

"I may not know everything, but I do know that the Alpha wouldn’t want you to struggle. Not once has he asked you to work so hard for him, so why do you do this to yourself? You should be focused on school, not training for a war that probably will never happen."

Melissa sighed and said, "That is enough lecturing for one day, Nyla. Let the kid get some rest." Her gaze moved to Aria as she said, "Follow me; I will take you to your grandmother."

"I hope you get better soon." Aria said to Slade before following Melissa to a room.

Aria entered the room and saw her grandmother lying unconscious on the bed.

"Grandma," Aria sighed excitedly and rushed to her grandmother’s side.

Her grandmother looked much healthier than the last time she saw her, but she was still unconscious. Why hadn’t she woken up yet?

Aria looked at Melissa and asked, "Why is she still unconscious?"

"Even though she has been given the cure, your grandmother still needs time to heal, and I’m sure when her body has completely recovered, she will open her eyes."

Aria nodded with a smile and said to her unconscious grandmother. "You heard that, Grandma; you will soon open your eyes. I can’t wait to tell you everything that has happened to me, but most of all, I can’t wait to introduce you to Tristan."

Hearing that, Melissa asked, "Forgive me for this question, but do you love Tristan?"

Aria turned to Melissa and just stared at her without making any attempt to answer her question.

"I know you must feel uncomfortable by my question after all; we have only just met, but... I know it’s not in my place to say this, but the one who loves most always gets hurt. Eva loved most, and that is why she is currently dead, and you... The Alpha is a nice man and a great leader to his people, and I’m sorry for saying this, but I do not think you are capable of surviving by his side."

Aria scoffed and asked, "And what makes you say this? Is it because you think that Lia is the one who is meant to be by his side?"

"Oh no, I’m not a fan of Lia. I’m a healer, Luna Aria, and from the moment I saw you, I knew you didn’t have a wolf. The Golden Rills Pack values strength, and if they find out their Luna is wolfless, they’ll turn on you just as quickly as they accepted you. Just as there’s no Alpha without a wolf, a Luna without one shouldn’t exist."
