Chapter 58: A Child Whom Everyone Already Wants Dead
The Golden Rills Pack was hidden deep in Mount Korv, a place feared by humans because of rumors about dangerous animals. That didn’t stop some from trying to explore it, but none ever returned. In the end, the government banned anyone from going near the mountain.
As Cole drove closer to a huge building in the distance, Aria noticed security cameras hidden in the trees. The closer they got to the gate, the more nervous she felt. Would the pack accept her, or would they treat her differently because she had no wolf?
The car stopped in front of a huge gate, guarded by two men.
Recognizing Cole’s car, they opened the gate, and Aria’s jaw dropped as Cole drove inside. This wasn’t a mansion; this was a castle! How can a building be so huge?
"Cover your mouth." Tristan spoke with a smile. Watching Aria’s reaction has been more amusing than he thought.
Aria turned her head to him and said, "You didn’t tell me you live in a castle!"
"A castle?" Tristan laughed and held her hand, bringing it to his lips. "You are the queen of this castle, so don’t get intimidated by anyone."
"So are my words law?"
Tristan chuckled as he replied, "Yes, they are."
Cole rolled his eyes as he stopped the car. "We are here."
Aria came out of the car amazed at how beautiful the building looked so much closer.
Having put on his dark glasses, Tristan came out of the car, and along with Cole and Aria, rushed to him to hold his hand.
She leaned close to him and whispered, "Don’t they know that you can see with your wolf eyes?"
"Some do, but not all. The reason is that I do not wish for them to start having crazy expectations, and besides, there is always a traitor among us." Tristan said and tightened his hold on her.
"The both of you have thirty minutes before the party starts, and just as you have instructed, there is a gown on the bed for Luna, and I shall send someone to attend to you." Cole said.
"Wait, isn’t Tristan coming with me?" Aria asked, and a woman came out of the building. She could also feel eyes on her, but whenever she looked around, there was no one there. Could it be they were hiding from her, but why?
The woman approached them and bowed as she greeted, "Alpha. Luna, it’s a pleasure to meet you."
"This is Samantha. She is the head of all the female servants in here, and she will lead you to your room." Cole said.
"Cole and I have something to do, but it will just take fifteen minutes, so don’t worry." Tristan assured her, and even though it did not make her feel better, Aria agreed to leave with Samantha.
The moment Aria stepped in, she froze. To her left, females stood in a neat line, and to her right, the males did the same. Then, all at once, they bowed and said, "Welcome, Luna Aria."
Aria was too stunned to reply; never in her life had she been treated like a special guest.
"You may all continue with your work." Samantha ordered, and the servants left.
Samantha glanced at Aria and pointed to an elevator as she said, "This way, Luna."
There was an elevator? How big is this place? It was so different than the Shadow Moon Pack.
Aria followed Samantha to the elevator and watched as she pressed the button that had PH boldly written on it, and she asked, "This PH stands for penthouse, right?"
"Yes, Luna. Only the Alpha stays on that floor, and rest assured that no one except for me goes to clean it." Samantha replied.
Aria chuckled. When Tristan told her his pack house was deep in the mountains, she expected it to be as big as the Shadow Moon pack’s. But no, it was even bigger. In fact, it felt more like walking into a luxurious hotel. No wonder Hailey had said the Golden Rills Pack was the richest in the world. The evidence of their wealth was clear—she was sure this building alone was worth millions, if not billions, of dollars.
The elevator pinged, and the door opened, revealing a hallway painted with gold.
Aria followed Samantha, and they both stopped at a door. She watched as Samantha pressed the passcode to the door, and it opened.
"This is yours and the Alpha’s room. Your bed is already on the bed and the jewelry on your dressing table. If there is anything you need, all you just need to do is..." Samantha gave her a small remote that had a red button in the middle. "All you just need to do is press that button, and I will immediately come to you."
"Ok. Thank you." Aria said, looking at the remote with confusion. This was the first time seeing such a thing.
Samantha sighed and took her leave. As she entered the elevator, she brought out her phone and called a number, and when the call connected, she said, "Miss Lia, Alpha and Luna, has arrived, and you were right; she has a weak, weak smell, even worse than an Omega."
Samantha nodded as she listened to what Lia was saying over the phone and replied, "Yes, it will be done."
After being amazed at how big and beautiful the room was, Aria walked towards the bed and saw a silver gown on the bed, and beside it was a box. She opened the box and saw a pair of new shoes to compliment her gown.
Everything was perfect. Being with Tristan felt so right that sometimes she wondered if it was all just a dream, one she would eventually wake up from.
Aria went to the dressing table and saw a jewelry box; she opened it and used her hands to trace the diamond necklace.
The door to the room opened, and Tristan came in. He removed his glasses, and Aria watched as his dull brown eyes changed into Zolan’s.
"I thought you were going to stay longer." Aria said, setting the box down and walking towards him.
"I was too worried about you to even concentrate on what Cole was saying to me. Are you alright?"
"This place is so huge and beautiful and expensive. It’s just so cool." Aria said with so much excitement that it made Tristan laugh.
"Since you love it so much, should we get a place like this?" Tristan asked, caressing her cheek.
"Just the two of us?"
"Yes, is there anyone else that needs to live with us?" Tristan asked with a frown.
Aria laughed and replied, "Unless we are planning to have dozens of kids, then no way can the two of us live in a huge mansion alone."
Aria wanted to get ready for the party when Tristan held her hand and pulled her closer to him.
"Tristan, we need to get ready." Aria said, making no effort to leave his arms.
"Do you... do you want that?"
Aria looked at him, confused. "Do I want what?"
There was a bit of hesitation in Tristan’s eyes before he said, "Kids."
Aria was stunned by his question. Before marrying Tristan, she had thought about having kids, but after their marriage, the thought never crossed her mind. Now, facing his question, the idea of having a child with him filled her heart with a warmth she couldn’t explain.
She wrapped her hands around his neck and said, "I would love to have a child with you, Tristan, but..."
"But?"
"I think we are moving too fast," Aria said.
Fast? He has waited for her for five lifetimes, and she thinks they are moving too fast? Tristan didn’t know if he should laugh or cry, but he was curious about something.
"Why do you think we are moving too fast?" He asked.
Aria removed her hands from around his neck after his question and tried to move away from him, but instead he tightened his hold on her, waiting for her reply.
Feeling trapped, Aria moved her gaze to his chest as she replied, "I... I don’t think we know each other that well and also..."
"Also?"
"I think you only feel attraction and not love towards me." Aria said with her eyes closed.
Tristan smiled and asked, "Are you saying you love me, Aria?"
Aria opened her eyes and wondered if it was his question or his face being just an inch away from her that was responsible for the racing of her heart.
"I...."
"Don’t lie." Tristan whispered.
Aria looked at him and held his gaze as she sincerely faced her reply, "I don’t know."
"Aria." Tristan called her name in a sigh and rested his head on her neck, inhaling her scent as he whispered, "What do I do with you?"
Aria smiled and softly closed her eyes as she felt his lips on her neck and at the exact spot he had once bitten.
Tristan planted one last kiss on her neck and just held her without changing his position. He felt like he was going crazy. Why did he even bring up the topic of kids, especially since he was against having a child. No, that is a lie; he wasn’t against having a child; if she had his child, then she will never forget him. His Aitana will always remember him after he is gone but if that prophecy his true, then how can he leave her alone with a child whom everyone already wants dead.
