Married To The Blind Alpha
Chapter 43: The Key

Chapter 43: The Key

Tristan observed the young girl who was chained to a chair and then gave a signal to Cole.

Cole nodded and took a bucket filled with water at his side and poured it on her.

Layla woke up with a gasp the moment the water was poured on her. She quickly looked around her and saw two unfamiliar men standing before her.

"Who are you?" Layla asked angrily as she tried to break free of the chain she had been locked with, but the more she tried destroying the chains, the weaker she got weaker, and it got stronger and tighter.

"You will never be able to break free, so don’t bother trying." Cole said.

"I asked a question: Who are you?" Layla asked, and when they remained silent, she scoffed, "Are you perhaps together with Aria? Last, I remember that bitch stabbed me with something. You are mistaken if you think you can keep me locked in here. I will break out, and when I do, I will kill two of you."

Tristan looked at her with no interest in his eyes, as if he was bored.

"We will let you go if you answer all of our questions. Why did you approach Aria?" Cole asked.

Layla’s gaze on Cole became confused, as if she did not understand what he was saying, but suddenly she started laughing and said, "Now I understand. Wow, Aria has really given me a surprise; who would have thought that there would be a vixen underneath that innocent look? Tell me, how was she able to wrap two handsome men around her fingers?"

Layla gasped as they looked at her with disgust and said, "She must have been good in bed. I got it, right? But listen, if you let me go, I will show you that I am better than her and would definitely give you the time of your life."

"Cole," Tristan called.

Cole glanced at Tristan and walked close to Layla. He narrowed his eyes in disgust as she licked her lips in a seductive way and then brutally gave her a slap.

Layla let out a small shout when her face turned as a result of the slap. She looked at Cole angrily and tried to attack him but couldn’t. "I will kill you; I am going to kill you!"

Layla kept shouting as she kept trying to break free of the chains that she had been tied down with.

Cole ignored the crazy look in her eyes and took a step back as he said "I have told you already. Don’t bother wasting your strength."

Tristan walked forward and bent one knee to look at Layla, who had stopped her ranting.

She was mesmerized by his golden eyes, and the thought that such a man had tied her down because of Aria brought a deep jealousy to her heart. Wasn’t she prettier?

"I do not wish to keep you here. I do not wish to hit you or torment you; I only want to get some answers to my questions, and after that, I promise to let you go."

Layla looked at him and smiled. "What if I want something else?"

"Then tell me; I will give it to you."

"I want you. If I answer all your questions, then you have to be mine."

"Have you lost your mind?" Cole shouted but was surprised when Tristan said.

"Yes, I will be yours. You are prettier after all." Tristan said, caressing her bruised cheek. With everything Aria told him about Layla and after observing her himself. He noticed that Layla was an emotional fool. She was unstable and had this strange desire to always be called pretty.

Layla smiled and closed her eyes, enjoying Tristan’s gentle touch.

Tristan removed his hand and asked, "Why did you approach Aria?"

Layla opened her eyes and said, "Since you have agreed to be mine, why do you still ask about Aria?"

"Because Aria is an asset to me, I need to know if there is someone that wishes to tamper with my asset."

"Does that mean you need Aria for the same reason Master needs her?"

"Master? Who is this master?" Tristan asked.

Layla shrugged and said, "I don’t know. Nobody has ever seen master."

Tristan frowned and then asked, "Was it this master of yours that asked you to approach Aria?"

Layla shook her head and said, "I suggested it, but Master approved it but said I shouldn’t harm her."

"If you have never seen this master of yours, then how did you approve of coming close to Aria?"

Layla brought her face closer to Tristan’s and said, "That information comes with a kiss."

Tristan hid the deep disgust he felt after hearing her and let out a charming smile. He brought his face closer to Layla’s, their lips inch apart as he whispered, "I will give you more than a kiss if you will answer my question."

Even though this man was her captor, Layla wanted him badly. The way he smelled, spoke, and flirted with her made her crave him badly. Why should she protect any of their secrets anyway? Why should she keep her mouth shut for a master whom they have never met?

Layla was about to close the gap between them when Tristan pulled away and said, "You have to answer my questions first."

Layla pouted her lips and said, "The master has a representative."

"Name?"

"I won’t tell you."

"What?"

"You may be very handsome and have the most gorgeous eyes I have seen in my life, but that isn’t enough for me to betray Master."

"Why so loyal to him?"

Layla became quiet as if remembering something, and when Tristan thought she wouldn’t speak, he heard her say, "He saved us."

Layla looked at Tristan as she said, "He saved us all. When those nasty hunters gathered us up and experimented on us."

"You were experimented on?"

"They injected us day and night and kept extracting our venom." Layla said calmly, her eyes seemed lost.

"Who were these hunters, other wolves?"

Layla shook her head and said, "They were humans. and we were all a pack. We were happy, and I was going to go into an acting school, and these tourists who claimed to have lost their way invaded our territory, and our Alpha had mercy on them and invited them in. He felt them and gave them a good bed to sleep in for the night, but they betrayed us.

They already knew that we were weak against silver and wolfsbane. How they were able to find this out, I do not know, but they went after the strongest first and shot them with a silver bullet. They was fire everywhere and I didn’t even know when I lost consciousness and when I woke up, I found myself in a lab, chained to the bed and it wasn’t just me, children, men, and women. The lab was big enough to contain us all. We were given no food and no water. We were treated worse than animals, and I thought I was going to die, but suddenly Master showed up and saved us all."

"How long were you in that lab before you were saved?"

Layla focused her gaze on Tristan as she answered, "Seven years. We were there for seven years."

"After saving you, what did your master do next?" Tristan asked.

Layla didn’t want to speak, but she was unable to look away from Tristan, and it was as if his eyes were capable of getting her to say things she didn’t want to say. Who exactly is this man?

"What did your master do next?" Tristan asked again with a little edge to his voice.

"Master brought a witch who healed us. Uhm... does this mean I have met Master? Then why can’t I remember him?" Layla asked herself.

Cole frowned and asked Tristan, "Did he perhaps make them forget meeting him?"

"Why does your master want Aria?" Tristan asked, and when Layla wanted to look away from his eyes, he held her chin tightly as he said, "Answer me."

Layla couldn’t help it; it was as if she had been spelled. "I only know what the witch told me."

"Who is this witch, and what did she tell you?"

"Her name is Noelle, and she said, Aria is the key."

"Key to what?"

Layla shook her head and tried to look away from Tristan’s eyes. Those eyes she once found mesmerizing were making her to say things she shouldn’t say.

Tristan tightened his hold on Layla’s chin. "I asked you a question."

Tears formed in her eyes as she begged, "Please, don’t do this. If I say anything, then she will know and then come for me. The only punishment for betraying the master is death. Please." Layla closed her eyes but found herself opening it again, it was as if she was enchanted and the only way of it, was by answering every question he has asked.

"Key to what, Layla?" Tristan said, using his Alpha’s voice.

"To awaken the supreme Alpha. Her life shall be the sacrifice needed to wake the supreme Alpha from his slumber." The moment Layla spoke those words, her body was set ablaze, shocking both Tristan and Cole.

Tristan hissed at his burnt finger. He watched Layla’s body burn to ashes, but he was not concerned. Right now, the only thing that was ringing in his mind was as if the last Cadian is also the supreme Alpha they wish to awaken.
