Chapter 41: Sex On The Beach

What does he mean by there is no Layla?

"Tell him to check again." Aria said.

"There is no need for that, Aria. Garry is the best hacker I know and his information are never wrong."

"If there is no Layla in my department then who is the girl I have been talking to?"

"Did she smell like a wolf?" Tristan asked.

"Yes, she did." Even though Aria could not smell the way a wolf could, she has been around lot of wolves, so she could tell the difference between how a wolf and human smell.

"I bet her real name isn’t Layla. She must have used that name to get close to you."

Aria clenched her fist and said "I still want to go meet her."

Tristan looked at her in surprise and asked, "You want to confront her? No way, Aria!"

"She doesn’t know that I have found out the truth about her, and I need to know why she has lied to me, why she came to me using a false name."

"I can find that out for you; there is no need for you to take risks."

"I can handle it."

"How? Layla is a wolf and you are no different from a human."

"If she wanted to hurt me then she would have done it already."

"The answer is still no." Tristan said firmly.

"Can any harm really come to me with you by my side? Isn’t that why you gave me your pendant, to protect me? Let me do this, and who knows, Layla, or whatever her real name is, may know who poisoned my grandmother."

She was right. Layla may know something about the Ferals, and although he felt bad using Aria as bait, at this point, it was the only way.

"You are right; you should go."

Aria was glad Tristan agreed to let her go, and just then her phone vibrated at the back of her back. It was a message from Hailey, asking her if she had told Tristan about the wedding.

Aria ignored the message and returned her phone back to her pocket. Since she has agreed to convince Tristan about going to the wedding then she will do it but not tonight. Tonight, she was going to find out who Layla really is and why she has approached her.

.....

The location Layla had sent her turned out to be a club, and in all her years of living, this was the first time Aria was entering a club. She saw Layla waving to her as she approached the club, and the Layla who was standing in front of her looked nothing like the Layla she knew at school.

Layla was dressed in a miniskirt and crop top, and her hair was loose, different from the ponytail she usually has on. Her makeup with no glasses on made her look very mature, and gone was the cute, shy girl Aria was used to.

Aria felt like she was looking at a stranger and noticing her unusual gaze; Layla smiled and said, "My sister dressed me up. She said if I want to party at a club, then I can’t be looking like a teenager. Do I look bad?"

"No, you just look different, very different."

"A good different, I hope?" Layla asked softly.

There it was, that shyness, but now Aria knew that it was a lie; maybe this was the real Layla.

Aria forced a smile on her face. "Yes, Layla, it’s a good different."

Layla smiled and held her hand as she said, "Let’s go inside."

Aria held her back and glanced around the place they were standing, "A club is where you wanted to celebrate?"

"A club is where everybody celebrates." Layla said, and when she saw a frown on Aria’s face, she acted shy again and said, "I have never been to a club, and I have always wanted to go, but since I didn’t have any friends, it was difficult for me to go alone, and that is why I suggested here, but if you don’t like it, then we can go somewhere else."

Aria looked at her silently for a few seconds before saying, "It’s okay; let’s go in."

Aria immediately regretted it the moment she entered the club, it was loud and seeing people rubbing against each other while dancing didn’t really sit well with her.

"Let’s go have a drink to celebrate our exam success." Layla said and left Aria to the bar.

The bartender’s gaze lingered on Aria, holding her eyes for a beat too long. He finally turned to Layla, a slow smile spreading across his face. "What can I get you two lovely ladies tonight?"

Layla, who noticed his long gaze on Aria, clenched her fist tightly and tried her best to control the anger brewing in her. It was she who had makeup on and who was dressed sexy, so why did he look at Aria longer than her?

At this moment, Layla felt like carving up Aria’s pretty face, she wondered who would look at her after her face has been destroyed.

Since Layla wasn’t saying anything, Aria said "A glass of water for me."

"Just water?" The bartender asked in surprise.

Layla came to her senses and said "Of course not. We will both be getting sex on the beach."

"What?" Aria looked at Layla with a frown.

Layla chuckled and said "Calm down, Aria. It’s the name of the drink."

"Oh." How can I drink be named sex on the beach? Aria asked herself.

The bartender chuckled at Aria’s reaction and went to prepare their drink.

While the bartender prepared their drinks, Layla placed her hand on Aria’s and said "I’m glad you are here with me, tonight."

"Yeah, me too." Aria replied.

The bartender served their drink and Aria stared at it and when she saw the way Layla effortlessly drank hers, she knew for sure that this wasn’t her first.

"You should drink this and then we dance." Layla said with a smile, unaware that Aria was observing her.

Aria looked at the dance floor with a frown "Dance?"

Layla nodded.

Aria drank her drink in one goal, completely unaware of the look, Layla shared with the bartender.
