Married To The Blind Alpha -
Chapter 27: The Master
Chapter 27: The Master
In the middle of the quiet night, a man kept digging the ground, while the young lady standing a few feet away from him yawned.
A dead body lay close to the man digging the grave, and he glared at the girl when she nonchalantly said.
"How long is this going to take? I have classes tomorrow."
"Stop your whining and just stand there quietly. Since you were the one who caused this mess, you should be the one digging his grave, not me." The man replied angrily.
The girl shrugged and said, "I thought it would be fine. I didn’t expect this idiot to be so weak; at least now we know he is a failed experiment."
"Keep your mouth shut." The man hissed.
The girl laughed, "You are still so uptight, Gerald. Maybe that’s why Master loves you."
Gerald looked at the girl angrily for a few seconds before shifting his gaze to the dead body. He carried it to the pit he had dug and then threw his heart inside the grave before covering the body.
The girl looked at his actions with a bored expression in her eyes, but suddenly her eyes lit up as she asked, "Do you think I should dye my hair red? I think I would look even prettier than her if I did so."
"Remember the master’s words. You are not allowed to cause any more trouble."
"Why should I obey a master I have never seen? Tell me, Gerald, have you ever seen the master?"
"His identity is none of your business. We have a plan; Elise and hurting Aria was never part of the plan. What you did today was beyond foolish."
The girl pouted her lips as she said, "It’s Layla now, and she was so pretty."
"What?"
There was a crazy glint in Layla’s eyes as she said, "She was way too pretty, and I just wanted to destroy her pretty face. Tell me, Gerald, do you think he was able to do that before he died?
Gerald scoffed as he shook his head. "You have gone mad."
"Maybe I should try again." Layla said with a smile, and the next thing she felt was Gerald’s hand wrapped around her throat, choking her tightly.
"If you dare to mess with the master’s plan again, then I will ruin that ugly face of yours and then bury you alongside that idiot." Gerald let go of her, and she fell to the floor gasping for breath.
Layla looked at him angrily and screamed, "I am not ugly. I’m NOT!"
If there is anything Layla hates the most, it is being called ugly; she hated it so much that she had killed the last person who had dared to say her face value was just average.
"Crazy bitch." Gerald muttered before walking out on her.
....
Aria woke up from her sleep with a gasp, and her hand went to her chest that was still hurting. Why does she have these types of dreams? What do they mean?
Aria turned and noticed that Tristan was not beside her. How long has he been awake? Aria asked herself, searching for her phone to check the time. When she saw that it was already 9 am, she stood up from the bed and went to the living room.
Aria could perceive the smell of fried eggs and bacon and wondered who was cooking.
Could it be...
Aria hastened her footsteps to the kitchen and saw Tristan frying eggs; she smiled at him and was about to say something when the memory of last night came flooding into her. The sounds she had made when he caressed her with his fingers, her face became flushed, and she immediately turned back, ready to go back to the room when she heard his voice.
"Did you sleep well?"
Aria froze in her steps and slowly turned to look at him. "G-good morning."
"Come have breakfast." Tristan said as he put the eggs and bacon on two plates and then placed them at the dining table.
Aria nodded and took a step forward when she suddenly stopped; she turned again and brought out her phone camera, and her eyes widened when she saw how messy her hair was.
She quickly smoothed out her hair and then opened her palm and blew air inside to check if her mouth had an odor.
Even though she smelled nothing, Aria was still not satisfied; she looked at Tristan and said, "Give me a minute; I forgot something in the room."
Before he could even reply, she had already run inside the room.
Tristan laughed softly. He had noticed all her actions but chose to say nothing.
Tristan brought out his phone from his pocket when he felt it buzzing. He frowned when he saw that it was an unknown number calling, and he wondered who was calling him.
His number is only known to a select few, so who could this be?
The call went off, and Tristan decided to ignore it, but his phone rang almost immediately again, and this time, he answered it.
"I thought you were never going to answer my call."
"Lia," Tristan said with a sigh, recognizing her voice.
"Did you miss me?" Lia excitedly asked.
"Is there a reason for me to miss you? Why have you called me?"
"Because I missed you." Lia said with a bit of longing in her voice.
Tristan scrunched his face in disgust and ended the call, but soon after the number called again. Just when he was deciding if he should answer or not, Aria came in, her hair looking more arranged than before and no doubt that she had also gone to brush her teeth.
He smiled at her playfully and said, "You said you forgot something in the room; what was it?"
"Huh?" Aria looked at him confusedly and then remembered the excuse she had made. "It was nothing important. Let’s eat."
Aria sat down and said, "I didn’t know you could cook."
Tristan laughed and said, "Don’t get your hopes up. All I can do is fry some eggs and maybe boil water."
Aria laughed and took a bite of the egg he had fried.
"Is it nice?" Tristan asked.
Aria nodded, taking another bite. "It’s very nice." She noticed his phone that had been ringing and asked, "Won’t you get that?"
"It’s nothing important." Tristan said as he rejected the call and went further to block the number.
"How is your ankle?"
Aria looked at her leg and just realized that the pain was gone. That’s strange; the last time she had twisted her ankle, it took about a week before the pain was completely gone.
"It’s gone. I can’t feel any pain." Aria said softly.
"That’s good." Tristan said and sat down beside her. He took a bite of the egg and was actually proud of how it turned out.
"Tristan, can I ask you a question?" Aria suddenly asked.
"Go on." Tristan said as he brought his glass of water to his lips.
"Do you think we were lovers in a past life?" she asked.
Tristan’s eyes went wide, and he choked on his water, bursting into a coughing fit.
Aria became startled. "Are you alright?"
Tristan nodded, placing the glass down. He cleared his throat and asked, "Where did that question come from?"
Should she tell him about her dream? No, what if he thinks she was going crazy? How would she tell him that she had a dream where she saw a girl that looks like her and a guy that looks at him? It doesn’t make sense.
Aria sighed and said, "Forget it."
"No, I want to know why you asked me that."
Tristan softly demanded. Could it be that she was finally remembering her last life? But it shouldn’t be so; the magic that has reincarnated her was supposed to erase the memory of her life as Aitana.
Aria thought of what to say when she felt his intense gaze on her. "I... we just have so much chemistry that I thought maybe we were lovers in our past life."
Tristan didn’t know whether to feel disappointed or not. Even though he didn’t want her to remember her life as Aitana, a part of him was still hoping that she would finally remember him and the moment they had shared with one another.
"I don’t think we were." Tristan said, focusing his gaze back to his food, but his appetite was no longer there.
Aria wondered why she felt sad when she heard that; it’s not like she even believed in past lives.
Her phone vibrated, pulling her from her thoughts. She glanced at the screen and froze.
"What’s wrong?" Tristan asked, noticing her reaction.
Aria handed her phone to him. "Milton wants me to increase the dosage."
Tristan’s jaw tightened as he read the message. He handed the phone back to her and said, "Tell him you’ll do it."
Aria nodded, but before she could type a reply, another message popped up. This time it was from Hailey.
