Married To The Blind Alpha -
Chapter 24: Can I Mark You?
Chapter 24: Can I Mark You?
After Aria was done with her classes for the day, she saw the same car that drove her to the university. Was he waiting for her? She remembered the lovely man that drove her to school. He was a sixty-five-year-old man and was also a human, and the way he spoke highly of Tristan made her wonder why a lot of people see him as a bad person.
As if sighting her, Fred came out of the car and waved at her.
Aria smiled and walked to him and asked, "Were you waiting for me throughout the whole day?" She looked at her watch and saw that the time was already 5 pm.
Fred nodded and said, "Sir Tristan has asked me to take you to school and bring you back, but not to worry; he has already bought an apartment close to your university, so this will be the last time of you taking such a far distance."
"That fast." Aria whispered. Wasn’t it just yesterday that he talked about buying an apartment close to her school and, plus, the credit card he gave her? How did a man who cannot see make so much money?
"Can we go now, Mrs. Grant?" Fred asked, opening the door to the back seat for her.
Aria narrowed her brow and said, "Didn’t we already discuss this in the morning?"
Realizing his mistake, Fred let out a helpless sigh and said, "It escaped my mind. Can we go now, Aria?"
Aria smiled and nodded. She entered the car, and when he got in as well, she said, "You should stop opening the door for me. My hands are working quite well."
Fred laughed softly as he started the car. "I’m glad I can leave Tristan’s side without worrying anymore."
"Leave his side? Are you going somewhere?" Aria asked with a frown.
Fred chuckled and replied, "I’m not getting any younger, am I?"
"Says who? If you hadn’t told me your age, then I would have passed you as a man in his forties."
"I see you are also a sweet talker." Fred said with a smile. He looked at Aria through his rearview mirror and softly called out her name, "Aria."
"Yeah."
"Do not believe anything people say about him. A year ago, my granddaughter felt sick. We found out that she had a hole in her heart and needed surgery immediately. My son had also lost his job at that time, and I just got a job to become a Tristan driver.
One day, I received a call from my son, and he was crying because he was scared of losing his daughter. Even I ended up in tears, and Sir Tristan saw me. I had no idea how he knew, but he asked me if I was crying, and I couldn’t even deny it. When I told him the issues I was facing, he moved my daughter to a more equipped hospital and paid for her surgery."
"He did that?" Aria asked in surprise.
Fred nodded. "That is not all. He also gave my son a good job, and after my granddaughter has healed from the surgery, he admitted her to the best school in Milan city. You know, when I first got this job as a driver, I heard whispers of how grumpy and rude he was, and even I thought the same, but after that day, I understood that he was a man easily misunderstood, and he doesn’t bother to explain himself. I was actually worried that such a man would end up living his life all alone, but then he got married to you. I sincerely hope that even though he cannot see, you will still be able to bring colors to his life."
"I will try." Aria replied with a smile, but deep within, she wondered if she would be able to bring color into his life. Even she has lived a colorless life. Her mother died after giving birth to her, and her father had abandoned her; her grandmother is currently in the hospital, and without a cure, she would die within three months. How can someone as cursed as her give color to the life of a man like Tristan?
"Fred, can you take me to the city hospital first? I would like to visit my grandma."
"Of course," Fred replied and turned the car around to go to the hospital instead.
....
Milan City Hospital.
Aria opened the door to her grandma’s ward and smiled when she saw that her grandma wasn’t looking as pale as before.
Milton had told her that since the antidote has slowed down the poison, then her grandmother’s wolf will heal her slowly, and looking at the color in her grandma’s face proved he was right.
Aria placed the fresh flower she had bought downstairs in a flower vase and then affectionately stroked her grandma’s hair.
"I never thought I would say this, but I miss you scolding me. I am married now, and I know you will be angry once you find out I got married without telling you, but he seems like a good guy. I have a feeling the both of you will get along very well."
A nurse came inside with a bowl and cloth and asked in surprise, "You are here?"
Aria nodded, collecting the bowl and washcloth from her as she whispered, "I will do it."
"Ok."
After washing up her grandmother, Aria kissed her forehead lovingly and said, "Don’t worry about anything; just focus on healing yourself. I will get you that cure, no matter the cost."
She glanced at her grandmother one last time and left the ward, feeling sad and heavy.
As soon as she stepped out of the hospital, Aria saw a girl walking away and whispered, "Hailey?"
She quickly followed the girl shouting, "Hailey, wait!"
But the girl kept walking, and before she realized it, Aria found herself in a dark alley, and the girl who she had been pursuing was no longer in sight.
"What just happened? I swear I saw Hailey just now." Aria muttered to herself and was about to take out her phone from her purse when she heard a dark chuckle from behind her.
Aria froze in that moment and suddenly felt a fear like never before. She slowly turned to see a man who had a crazy smile etched on his face, and his eyes were dark red. No doubt, he wasn’t a human.
The man inhaled deeply and whispered, "So sweet, just as she had promised."
Aria took a step back and asked, "Who... who are you?"
The man tilted his head, delighted by the face he could see in her eyes, and said, "A little birdie told me that you are a wolf from the Yalk clan, and here I was thinking you all had been annihilated."
Aria’s breath became heavy with fear. Not even her first encounter with Tristan brought so much fear to her heart. She watched as his teeth grew longer and wicked smile, he asked, "Can I mark you? I promise it won’t hurt."
Aria shook her head and screamed when he rushed towards her.
