Chapter 76 Foolish Woman_1
Chapter 76: Chapter 76 Foolish Woman_1
"Wasn’t she the one who almost killed Chenchen?" Ji Yunhuan suppressed her agitation. After all, Su Zi was already miserably taken down by her, she should be relieved. "Leave! I don’t want to see you."
"I already said this was my fault." Qi Cheng came here specifically to find her, to avoid things getting too stiff.
He knew how important Chenchen was to her, and he didn’t help her when she was in trouble, but misunderstood her.
He felt a bit ashamed. "I apologize to you. Ji Yunhuan, today’s incident was my fault. It won’t happen again. I promise I will get all the facts in the future!"
"What use is saying that?" Ji Yunhuan was too lazy to deal with him.
She went to the bathroom, dried her hair, and came out to find him still there. She said, "Go back."
Qi Cheng stood by, looking at her indifferent manner, and couldn’t help but miss their intimate moments from last night.
When she was about to enter the bedroom, he walked up and held her from behind. "I really was wrong. Forgive me this time."
After spending so much time with him, Ji Yunhuan knew how proud Qi Cheng was. He rarely admitted faults to anyone this way.
But as long as she thought of what happened in the morning, she didn’t want to forgive him.
She struggled a bit. Seeing that he wouldn’t let go, she mocked, "When did Mr. Qi become so shameless? Clinging to a woman like this, aren’t you embarrassed?"
"The wedding is next week. We don’t have to be like this." He gently held her hand. "Come back with me."
"Who said there’s no need? You were the one who told me to leave! Now you’re only apologizing because you realized today wasn’t entirely my fault. If it was all my fault, you would still kick me out like this morning, wouldn’t you? The husband I want is someone who stands by me no matter what, even if I’m wrong. Why should I care about someone like you?" After saying that, Ji Yunhuan coldly brushed his hand off and went back to her bedroom, closing the door.
Qi Cheng stood at the door for a while. Knowing she was still angry, he sighed helplessly and told her, "I’m going back. Be careful tonight."
Ji Yunhuan leaned against the door, listening as he closed the door outside and left.
Soon, she heard the sound of his car driving away downstairs.
Ji Yunhuan lay on the bed. The weather was getting cold lately, the rented house had no heating, and it was a bit chilly. She lay on the bed, recalling the time spent at the Qi Residence, as if it was all a dream.
A dream she couldn’t tell if was happy or sad.
Thinking about the way Qi Cheng was so angry today, it just seemed a bit ridiculous.
The next morning, Ji Yunhuan got up and as usual, went to the hospital. After making sure Chenchen was alright, she wandered around.
The morning streets were shrouded in white fog. Ji Yunhuan walked alone on the street. Ever since she was with Qi Cheng, she rarely had the mood to walk like this.
A sense of peace spread in her heart.
However, she didn’t know that someone had been watching her since the morning.
She stood at the corner, taking a call from Li Longtao. It seemed the company was doing well recently. She took out her phone to answer. Li Longtao asked, "Are you free? Want to come over?"
Ji Yunhuan thought for a moment. "Some other day. I don’t feel like coming over in these two days."
These couple of days Qi Cheng could come looking for her anytime, and she didn’t want her secrets to be discovered by him.
Qi Cheng was driving, just leaving home, intending to find Ji Yunhuan. Before he even got there, he saw her standing alone by the roadside on the phone.
Not far away, a black car had been following her, and she seemed unaware.
Qi Cheng watched the car from a distance, feeling an uneasy premonition. His instincts were usually very sharp. Unable to resist, he took out his phone and ordered someone to check the license plate of that car.
Just as he finished and hung up, he saw the car, which had been following Ji Yunhuan, suddenly rush at her when no one else was around...
Seeing it about to hit Ji Yunhuan, Qi Cheng wanted to warn her but realized she was still on the phone, completely unaware.
At the moment the out-of-control car charged at Ji Yunhuan, his heart tightened. Without thinking, almost instinctively, he drove his car forward, blocking the black car.
Ji Yunhuan was engrossed in her call, hadn’t even hung up, when she heard a loud crash ahead. Looking up, she saw two cars crashing just meters away from her.
She was stunned.
"What happened?" Li Longtao, hearing the noise on the phone, asked nervously.
"Seems like a car accident." Ji Yunhuan’s voice carried an inexplicable tension.
The atmosphere was eerie. Since she hadn’t looked closely, she wasn’t sure what was going on.
However, the car blocking in front of her looked somewhat familiar.
"Are you okay? Should I come over?"
"I’ll check first." Ji Yunhuan clutched her phone and walked towards the car.
As she got closer and took a serious look, she almost confirmed that this car—
Was Qi Cheng’s!
She walked towards with a pounding heart and knocked on the window. No response.
She went to the front. Seeing him slumped over the steering wheel, unsure if he was injured.
It really was him!
She had no idea why he was here.
But seeing someone she knew in a car crash, no matter the grudge, she couldn’t just stand by.
She quickly called an ambulance and reported to the police. The accident was more serious than she thought. Because Qi Cheng’s car was speeding, the impact was severe.
While waiting for the police and ambulance, Ji Yunhuan stood outside. After several attempts, she managed to open the car door from outside. Thankfully it wasn’t locked.
He was leaning against the steering wheel, though the airbag deployed, he fell into a coma, with a bloody wound on his head.
"Qi Cheng! Qi Cheng, wake up!" She grabbed his hand, trying to wake him.
Her voice was lovely, as if coming from a distant place, but it penetrated his consciousness.
Qi Cheng woke up after a short while. He opened his eyes, looking at the nervous woman beside him, and reached out; trying to pull her into his arms. However, his body felt heavier than ever, unable to lift.
His broad hand tried to raise, Ji Yunhuan held it. His palm was warm.
He rarely went out alone, even more so never in such circumstances. She wondered what was up with him today. She held his hand. "Are you okay? I called the police. Help is on the way, please don’t be unsafe."
She thought she hated him, but seeing him injured made her equally nervous.
Qi Cheng looked at her worried face, and affectionately said: "Silly woman!"
She didn’t even notice the danger around her. If it hadn’t been for him, she’d be dead.
