Chapter 332: Chapter 332: The Child is Her Everything (5)_1
Sister Wen Nuan didn’t expect she would want it so badly, "If you had told me earlier, I would have given it to you long ago."
At that time, Ji Yunhuan didn’t think that much.
She felt that secretly thinking about the child was a very shameful thing.
After all, she was the one who gave up the child.
She shouldn’t be so pretentious.
It was only after she saw the baby that she realized how ridiculous her indifference and pride were.
Since she had given birth to the child as a mother, no matter what, she should be responsible for him.
After sending Sister Wen Nuan away, Ji Yunhuan took Yangyang’s hand and went upstairs.
Realizing that if he didn’t follow Ji Yunhuan, he could only stay here, Yangyang curiously went upstairs too.
Ji Yunhuan pushed open the door and said to him, "Go in."
The bedroom window was open, and a breeze came in.
Ji Yunhuan’s room was cool. It wasn’t the height of summer yet, so there was no need for air conditioning; it was very comfortable.
Yangyang walked into the room with his small legs, looking at Ji Yunhuan curiously, waiting for her to take out the thing she promised to show him.
Ji Yunhuan found the photo album in her bedside table. Qi Cheng had given it to her at Jingyang Tower. She took it out, and Yangyang’s eyes widened as soon as he saw it, "This is my stuff. Why is it here with you? No wonder I couldn’t find it."
"Your uncle gave it to me." Afraid he might think she was a thief, Ji Yunhuan quickly explained.
Yangyang looked at her, his eyes full of suspicion. Ji Yunhuan knelt on one knee on the ground to make it easier to look at him.
She couldn’t help lowering her head and kissing his forehead lightly, "Don’t look at me like that. I really want to kiss you."
Yangyang covered his forehead in disdain but couldn’t bear to give up his photos. His gaze fell on the photo album.
When he turned to his childhood photos, Ji Yunhuan pointed at them and said, "These, and these, these two photos were taken by me. You were so small then. I thought, I would take a photo of you so you could see it when you grew up."
Yangyang ignored her, seriously flipping through the album, as if checking for any missing spots.
Ji Yunhuan squatted beside him, watching him, "Sweetie, don’t you really recognize Mommy? You hate me so much, my heart hurts."
Yangyang didn’t speak, stubbornly flipping through the album.
Ji Yunhuan squatted quietly beside him, observing him.
She occasionally reached out to touch him. He didn’t push her away but would give her a cold warning look. To avoid being hated, Ji Yunhuan carefully controlled her emotions and withdrew her hand.
When Yangyang finished flipping through the album, he confirmed, "These are mine."
"These are all you. But I want this. I can’t have you with me every day, so I can only look at your photos and think of you. Just be honest with me. When I’m not around, have you ever thought of me?" Ji Yunhuan asked gently.
She hoped the child would remember her.
Yangyang gave her a glance and said, "You’re not my Mommy."
This was his creed. No matter what Ji Yunhuan said, he wouldn’t change this creed.
"I don’t know how to make you believe."
"I won’t believe you." His eyes held a maturity far beyond his age.
"Why?" Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help but feel a pang of pain from his gaze.
Yangyang looked at her seriously and said, "If you were really my Mommy, why weren’t you the one who stayed by my side and watched me grow up?"
In that instant, Ji Yunhuan felt she had underestimated the child’s ability to think.
Such a question almost left her speechless.
Indeed!
If she truly was his mother, then why didn’t she watch him grow up like her second sister-in-law?
Yangyang hugged his album. He had just flipped through it once forwards, now he was flipping through it backwards. His expression was calm, as if thinking about something. Just looking at him, it was hard to imagine the words he had just said were his.
Qi Cheng pushed the door open and walked in from outside, seeing such a scene.
Yangyang stood by the bed, flipping through the photo album Qi Cheng had given Ji Yunhuan back then.
Ji Yunhuan squatted on the ground, her eyes focused on the child, filled with deep tenderness, guilt, and self-blame.
Qi Cheng’s arrival broke the atmosphere.
Ji Yunhuan and Yangyang both looked at him.
"Where did you go?" Ji Yunhuan asked.
"Just wandered around." Qi Cheng sat down beside her.
Ji Yunhuan looked at him, "Did Sister Wen Nuan’s words upset you?"
"More or less."
"Don’t take it to heart. She didn’t mean any harm. She just wants the best for me." Ji Yunhuan held his hand, comforting him.
Caught between him and her best friend, sometimes she really didn’t know what stance to take.
Qi Cheng looked at her, "Does she think you’ll have a bad life with me?"
Ji Yunhuan laughed, "Don’t hold a grudge, okay? For my sake, don’t take it to heart."
Qi Cheng reached out and cupped her face. Her skin was delicate with a slight chill. He lowered his head to kiss her, but Ji Yunhuan stopped him, "Yangyang is here."
Yangyang’s eyes were wide open, watching the two of them.
He seemed very curious about this scene.
Ignoring Ji Yunhuan’s resistance, Qi Cheng insisted on kissing her, just a light kiss on her lips.
Yangyang stared at the two, stunned by the scene.
Seeing him staring, Qi Cheng asked, "What, you want to kiss too?"
After speaking, he scooped Yangyang onto his lap. When Qi Cheng wasn’t around, Ji Yunhuan didn’t dare take the initiative with Yangyang, fearing he would dislike her.
Qi Cheng hugged Yangyang, keeping him between himself and Ji Yunhuan. Although he didn’t like this feeling of being separated from Ji Yunhuan, Yangyang was their child.
He temporarily suppressed his displeasure and said to Yangyang, "What did I tell you on the way here? You are Yunhuan’s and my child. She is your Mommy. I am your Daddy."
"Then what is my Mommy?" Yangyang’s eyes were icy.
He disagreed with Qi Cheng’s words.
"She is only your second mother."
Although still a mother, being one letter different made a big difference.
Yangyang pouted, staying silent, clutching the photo album tightly.
"It’s hot in here." Qi Cheng, just in from outside, couldn’t stand the room’s temperature.
"I’ll close the window." Ji Yunhuan stood up, went to the window, closed it, turned on the air conditioning, then sat back down.
Her gaze fell on Yangyang, who was only wearing a small T-shirt, his arms exposed, "Will Yangyang be cold in here? Did you bring clothes?"
"I’ll have someone bring them over later." Qi Cheng said, "For now, it should be fine."
But he still looked at Yangyang with concern, "Are you cold?"
