Qi Cheng knelt on one knee, looking at her lying on the bed. Because of Chenchen, she had been sleepless for several days and nights.

His fingers lingered on her face along with his gaze. He lowered his head and kissed her. The scent of her mesmerized him. He suppressed the desire rising within him.

Ever since Chenchen left with Su Zi, his life had turned from feasting on meat to boiling cabbage in clear water.

But at this moment, facing her so physically and mentally exhausted, how could he bear to indulge himself with her?

He reached out and covered her with the blanket, looking at her sleeping figure. He helplessly held her.

In the morning, Ji Yunhuan hurriedly climbed out of bed. Qi Cheng’s figure was no longer there. She quickly searched for her phone and checked the time. It was just eight in the morning, luckily not too late.

This was probably the deepest sleep she had had in days. She was truly exhausted.

She dressed, walked downstairs, and found Chenchen sitting on the sofa, looking fine, quietly watching her.

She walked up to Chenchen. "All better? You’re awake? Do you know how many days you slept? You worried me."

"Sis, I just talked to Brother-in-law. Can you take me home to visit?" Chenchen suggested to her.

Ji Yunhuan remembered wanting to take Chenchen back to their previous home but never having the chance.

She sat down, forcing herself to calm down, looking at Chenchen. "But can you go out now?"

He was still unconscious in bed last night. Though awake now, she couldn’t help but worry.

Chenchen said, "I want to go out and play. I don’t want to stay cooped up at home. I know my own condition well."

Although his complexion looked poor, he seemed very energetic.

Ji Yunhuan looked at Qi Cheng, seeking his opinion. She heard Qi Cheng say, "Agree to it. Just come back early. Liyan also said it’s fine."

Ji Yunhuan looked at Chenchen and finally nodded. "Okay."

Taking Chenchen back to their previous home was something she had always wanted to do.

They had breakfast together.

Chenchen sat quietly beside them and didn’t bring up Su Zi, as if he wasn’t sad at all about her.

The Female Housekeeper walked in, placing a camera in front of Chenchen. "Young Master Chenchen."

It looked like Chenchen had asked for it.

Ji Yunhuan looked at him puzzled. "Why do you need the camera?"

Chenchen smiled. "I want to shoot some videos."

Though there was still snow outside, the smile on his face was like sunshine.

After breakfast, Ji Yunhuan and Chenchen went out, just for two hours. Qi Cheng didn’t go with them because Chenchen said he wanted to be alone with his sister.

Though Qi Cheng was the brother-in-law, he didn’t feel like disturbing them.

After all these years, finally returning here made Chenchen very happy.

He stood in the yard, looking at the familiar scenery. "Sis, I still remember when we used to play in the yard together as kids."

Ji Yunhuan followed him with a DV camera, watching him turn back occasionally to talk to her.

Chenchen, waking up from the illness, was more active than she had imagined. She felt he smiled more in these few days than in the entire past few years.

They only stayed at home for two hours before returning to Qi Cheng’s house. In the following days, Chenchen insisted on visiting many places.

Sometimes Qi Cheng accompanied them, sometimes they went on their own. Of course, Bai Liyan was almost always with them.

On the way home, Chenchen leaned on her lap. Ji Yunhuan looked at his sleeping face and didn’t make a sound.

She felt as if an angel was resting on her lap, but he could leave at any moment.

Bai Liyan sat quietly in the front seat. Since that day, he hadn’t brought up surgery again.

But the more silent he was, the more anxious Ji Yunhuan felt.

Back home, after sending Chenchen back to his room, Ji Yunhuan and Bai Liyan went downstairs together.

She looked at Bai Liyan. "Tell me, how is Chenchen really doing?"

Bai Liyan’s eyes were like black onyx, without any light in them. "Can’t you feel it? These days, every day, he’s been living as if it were his last?"

This sentence made Ji Yunhuan freeze.

So, that’s why Chenchen had been clinging to her, doing so many things every day?

He wanted to leave his best memories for her in his final days.

Was he planning to leave her already?

The snow was slowly melting, but the winter remained just as cold. Ji Yunhuan leaned on the sofa, watching the videos they shot. Watching Chenchen’s smiling face, she had never felt such sadness.

Qi Cheng walked in, listening to the sibling’s conversation from the DV. He sat down beside her.

"I want Chenchen to have the surgery." Ji Yunhuan’s voice suddenly addressed Qi Cheng.

She knew Chenchen was already prepared.

And she, if she continued to hesitate, would undoubtedly be holding Chenchen back and wronging him.

Qi Cheng wasn’t surprised by her decision.

He probably understood Chenchen’s thoughts even earlier than she did.

He reached out, gently stroking her bangs. "I support you in whatever you decide to do. Should I talk to Liyan and have him prepare for the surgery?"

Ji Yunhuan nodded slowly, realizing it. "Yes."

She was still hesitant.

She was still reluctant to let go.

At nine in the morning, Qi Cheng came out of the study. Hearing the piano sound from the room upstairs, he walked up.

The room was spacious. The piano was placed in the corner. Ji Yunhuan, wearing a white blouse, sat by the piano. Her slender fingers danced on the keys. She was proficient in various instruments and used to love playing them. Now, she felt it was a tedious thing.

All this time, this was the first time Qi Cheng had seen her playing the piano.

Qi Cheng didn’t dare disturb her, just stood quietly watching until she heavily pressed the last key.

He walked over and admired, "You played well."

"I want to see Su Zi." Ji Yunhuan knew they hadn’t left, still staying here.

She didn’t know if it was because of Su Zi or something else.

Qi Cheng asked, "Why?"

Ji Yunhuan lifted her face, displaying her beautiful eyes under long lashes. "I don’t know why, that’s why I’m unsure if I should go."

She just had an impulse to see Su Zi.

"You want Su Zi to see Chenchen?" Qi Cheng sat down and asked.

Ji Yunhuan nodded. "I should, shouldn’t I?"

Even though Chenchen had decided not to burden Su Zi.

But she still wanted to go.

"So go then." Qi Cheng said, "They haven’t left, still staying at that hotel. They said it was for work, but the work should have been completed by now. Maybe Su Zi is also waiting for this opportunity. Do you need me to go with you?"
