Chapter 175: Let Go of Her Hand_1

Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Let Go of Her Hand_1

Ji Yunhuan walked in. "I heard from the servants that you’re awake. I came to check on you."

"I’m fine, just worried you." Chenchen looked guilty. "I’m sorry. It’s my fault this time for not listening. You can scold me!"

"I won’t scold you." Ji Yunhuan was gentle with him. Originally, she thought she was very angry, but seeing her brother like this, she couldn’t bear to blame him. "As long as you listen in the future, that’s enough."

"I will," Chenchen nodded.

Looking at his quiet demeanor, Ji Yunhuan said, "I heard everything you two said just now."

Chenchen looked at Ji Yunhuan.

Ji Yunhuan said, "I’ll go talk for you. After all, I’m used to being the bad guy."

"Sis."

"I know how you feel about her." Su Zi could only be happy if she left here, returned to her own world, and lived her own life.

A bright girl like her shouldn’t be drawn into Chenchen’s world.

The fact that Chenchen made this decision proved that his affection for this girl went beyond mere liking.

Because he liked her, he wanted to keep her by his side.

Because he loved her, he thought about letting her go.

Seeing no objection from Chenchen, Ji Yunhuan walked out of the room.

Su Zi was still standing at the top of the stairs.

Ji Yunhuan slowly descended the stairs. "Your parents are here. They said that if you really want to be with Chenchen, they can give you a few more days to spend with him."

Su Zi looked up at Ji Yunhuan. "Really?"

Ji Yunhuan regretfully said, "But Chenchen said he doesn’t want to see you."

Hearing this, the joy in Su Zi’s eyes was immediately replaced by agitation. "You’re lying to me too. He can’t not want to see me!"

"Su Zi, do you think I’m lying to you?" Ji Yunhuan knew what she was doing was cruel.

Seeing the look in Su Zi’s eyes, even someone as cold-hearted as her softened a bit.

Su Zi coldly replied, "Of course! You hate that I took him out. You hate what I did. So, you want to ruin my relationship with him. I know you never wanted to see us together. You’re just a bad woman. But even so, I won’t give up. He said he likes me. He will only like me. We will always be together..."

Thinking of this, her tears fell.

Ji Yunhuan looked at her, surprised that she couldn’t say anything harsh.

Chenchen came down at this moment. "Sis."

Su Zi looked up and saw Chenchen. Joyful again, she walked up the stairs and grabbed his hand. "Chenchen."

Chenchen looked at her calmly. "Didn’t I tell you to leave?"

"Leave? Go where? I don’t want to leave. I’ll convince my parents to let me stay," Su Zi said. "Didn’t I say I don’t want to leave you? I don’t want to leave you."

Hearing her words, a hint of a smile appeared in Chenchen’s eyes, but it was a mocking smile. "But I’m already tired of being pestered by you every day. If you want to stay, I don’t want to see you anymore."

"..." Su Zi’s fingers that grasped his hand paused. "Ji Chen!"

"I thought you were smart enough to figure it out, but you still don’t get it, do you? Someone like me cannot like anyone, especially not a girl who almost strangled me to death the first time we met."

"..." A feeling of rage almost tore her heart apart.

But Su Zi quickly understood that this was not the real Chenchen.

She calmly looked at Chenchen. "But we were together last night. You liked me so much before."

"Liking you was just because I was too lonely and wanted someone by my side. But if you think I had any true feelings for you, you’re thinking too much. The person I love most is only one, my sister. You never liked her. Do you think I would like someone who doesn’t respect the one I love the most?"

His words made Su Zi slowly release her grip.

It was just one night, but everything seemed to have changed.

"No, it’s not true. I know you are not like this! Have you forgotten what you said last night?" On the Christmas tree, after eating an apple, he had made a wish.

And his wish was for her to be happy.

But now, he said he couldn’t possibly like her!

"If you don’t like me, then what does my happiness have to do with you?"

"It’s true it has nothing to do with me. But since you’re leaving, I don’t mind acting one last time and letting you foolishly think you like me, which... gives me a sense of accomplishment. You can’t imagine this feeling, can you?" He said, the sarcasm in his eyes growing stronger.

Su Zi looked at him in disbelief. "Is this how you really feel?"

"Yes. Now I’m tired. I don’t want to see you anymore. We have no future. Your parents don’t want us to be together. I don’t want them to think I led you astray. So go back! Don’t show up in front of me again." He looked at her coldly, as if he were an outsider. It seemed he never had any feelings for her at all.

If he had any feelings, he wouldn’t look at her with such eyes.

Only now did Su Zi realize how badly she had been deceived all this time by his gentle eyes.

Su Zi looked at Ji Chen, then at Ji Yunhuan, thinking of her mother’s words. "You and your sister are just as cold-blooded."

Ji Yunhuan leaned on the railing, looking toward Bai Liyan, who was standing by the side. Bai Liyan also looked on coldly.

As bystanders, they all knew these were not Chenchen’s words. None of them expected that to make Su Zi give up, the usually simple-minded Chenchen could act so convincingly.

Su Zi looked at Chenchen one last time and turned to leave the house.

Chenchen’s gaze made her believe she was truly unloved.

Because she couldn’t imagine Chenchen’s coldness was just his acting.

Because he loved her too much, he understood how crucial his acting was.

If his act was fake, she wouldn’t believe him!

-

As soon as Su Zi stepped out the door, he collapsed. Ji Yunhuan supported him. Chenchen looked at her. "Sis."

His voice was faint, and Ji Yunhuan’s heart clenched.

He said, "Don’t let her know."

Ji Yunhuan nodded. "Okay."

Chenchen was sent back to his room.

The servants had already packed Su Zi’s luggage.

Su Zi’s father and mother were waiting for her in the main courtyard.

They originally thought of letting Su Zi stay here for a couple more days until Chenchen’s health improved before she left with peace of mind.

But Su Zi said she didn’t need to.
