Chapter 165: Chapter 165: The Concern That Cannot be Borne_1

He had drunk some wine, but he was still not drunk; however, his words sounded more like drunken babble.

"Qi Cheng." She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning on him with emotion, "Since you said it like this, I won’t hesitate either. I will feel guilty, probably because I still have my own conscience!"

If she didn’t feel a bit guilty, maybe she wouldn’t be a normal person.

The next morning, Ji Yunhuan and Qi Cheng got up very early. Guests were coming to the house, so they could not laze around in bed as usual. That would be very impolite.

As Qi Cheng went downstairs, he happened to run into Father Su who was exercising. Seeing that they had something to discuss, Ji Yunhuan didn’t go over.

She returned to the room, poured herself a cup of coffee, and then heard a voice from behind, "Drinking coffee in the morning is not good for your health."

Aunt Su stood behind Ji Yunhuan, draped in a fringed shawl, looking elegant and dignified.

Ji Yunhuan lowered her head and said, "Aunt Su."

Aunt Su sat down next to the heater. Following Qi Cheng’s instructions, the servants had already prepared hot tea for her. Ji Yunhuan followed and sat down beside her. Aunt Su poured a cup of tea and handed it to her.

Ji Yunhuan gave up her coffee and took the small white porcelain cup.

The atmosphere in the room was very quiet. As Ji Yunhuan drank tea, Aunt Su’s eyes never left her.

She didn’t avoid it, letting Aunt Su scrutinize her.

Due to her upbringing from a young age, her manners and etiquette, though somewhat neglected over the years, were not disappointing.

Aunt Su observed her, involuntarily lifting the corner of her mouth, but there was a hint of disappointment in her eyes. "If A’Liang were here, you would be my daughter-in-law."

Ji Yunhuan paused, but she deliberately suppressed it, and put down the cup.

Actually, even if Su Molang were here, she might not necessarily be with him.

But now that Su Molang was gone, such thoughts were meaningless. She did not want to undermine Aunt Su.

Facing a woman who had lost her son, she tried to be more understanding.

Aunt Su said, "I always thought that if I ever saw that woman, I would never let her go."

Ji Yunhuan was stunned. Maybe everyone, before seeing her, thought the same way, right?

Even Qi Cheng, whom she slept with every night, had the same thought, didn’t he?

Ji Yunhuan said, "I am very sorry about your son. I just hope Aunt Su can find peace."

Aunt Su’s hands secretly tightened as she looked at Ji Yunhuan, "After seeing you, I realized you are indeed the type my son would like."

Ji Yunhuan lowered her head without speaking.

She already expressed her apology, so there was no need to say more. After all, she wasn’t the one who called Su Molang back, nor did she send someone to kill him.

Saying more would only make her bear more inexplicable guilt.

But when Aunt Su looked at her and remembered Su Molang, the feeling was really difficult to endure.

She said, "I know Aunt Su is very sad, but life for those who are alive must go on."

She was getting married. It was her right. She couldn’t remain unmarried for life just because Su Molang once liked her. She and Su Molang didn’t have such a deep relationship.

If Aunt Su was a reasonable person, she should know that saying these things in front of her was impolite.

As expected, Ji Yunhuan soon heard Aunt Su’s apology, "It’s my fault. When I see you, I think of those unhappy things. You are married to Qi Cheng now. I shouldn’t say these things in front of you."

Ji Yunhuan paused and looked at Aunt Su.

Aunt Su’s words made her feel inexplicably upset.

Although she and Qi Cheng were mutually in love, there was now a shadow cast over it.

But looking at Aunt Su, it seemed unintentional.

The atmosphere in the room became unbearably awkward. Fortunately, Su Zi pushed the door open and came in, looking at Aunt Su, "Mommy."

Aunt Su looked at her and smiled.

Su Zi sat down next to her, watching Ji Yunhuan in front of her, subconsciously frowning. She had conflicts with Ji Yunhuan. Although they had somewhat changed because of living under the same roof, their relationship was still not good.

However, she did not mention the previous incident where Ji Yunhuan wanted to kill her in front of her parents.

Both of them were at fault in that matter. If her parents found out, they would certainly think Ji Yunhuan was bullying her. After all, all parents were biased toward their own children.

She did not say anything, also considering Chenchen.

Su Zi leaned on her mother’s leg, wheedling, "You will be going to a social event later. Can I not go with you these days?"

"You haven’t seen Dad and me for so long. Don’t you want to spend more time with us? Even yesterday, as soon as you came back, you disappeared." Aunt Su complained.

Ji Yunhuan watched the mother and daughter.

Unintentionally, she thought of her own mother.

Just then, Aunt Su looked up and said, "We are going to see A’Liang later. Ms. Ji, would you like to join us?"

"I won’t go." Ji Yunhuan refused.

She really had no reason to see Su Molang. Besides, she didn’t want to see him.

Su Zi, puzzled, asked, "We’re going to see my brother. Why should she come along? Mommy, you forgot that she is now Qi Cheng’s wife. She has nothing to do with my brother."

Although Su Zi’s words were full of disdain, Ji Yunhuan felt more comfortable hearing them.

Unlike Aunt Su, every word forced Ji Yunhuan to breathe heavily.

She didn’t know what she counted for in Aunt Su’s eyes.

Aunt Su didn’t seem to regard her as a wife but as one of the thoughts left in this world by their son.

It seemed that in Aunt Su’s eyes, caring for her was equivalent to caring for Su Molang.

Mentioning Qi Cheng, Aunt Su’s face stiffened as she asked, "In this world, there are so many people. I have never understood why Ms. Ji chose to marry Qi Cheng."

When Ji Yunhuan first married, she didn’t know about Qi Cheng’s relationship with Su Molang.

But now, even such a relationship didn’t matter.

She looked at Aunt Su with reason and pride, "Don’t men and women get married primarily for feelings? Why would Auntie ask such a question?"

"They were friends, more like brothers. In facing Qi Cheng, you must feel somewhat embarrassed!" In Aunt Su’s eyes, there was genuine concern.

Unlike Su Zi, who hated the idea of her marrying Qi Cheng to the point of desperation.

But, changing perspectives, maybe Su Zi’s behavior was normal.

Ji Yunhuan tightened her fingers, "Auntie, you care about me too much."

"You are someone A’Liang liked," Aunt Su sighed.

Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help but refuse her kindness: "I can understand your feelings for Young Master Su, but treating me this way is actually very unfair. When I knew Young Master Su, we didn’t have a deep relationship; we didn’t even formally date. Auntie’s behavior makes me feel very embarrassed."
