Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Bowed His Head and Kissed Down_1

Qi Cheng’s words made a shattered light flash in Chen Chen’s eyes. In that instant, he indeed remembered those family members who had cared for him since he was young.

He said slowly, "I’ve been dreaming about my childhood recently, dreaming about my mom and dad... You’re right, maybe it’s already a miracle that I’ve lived this long. For some reason, there’s always a strange calmness in my heart lately, a calmness more terrifying than death. I feel like my time might be running out!"

Qi Cheng paused. "Don’t think like that. Li Yan said your condition is good, there’s no problem living until 30." Though 30 was also short, Qi Cheng felt that he could only comfort Chen Chen this way.

Chen Chen smiled. It was unclear if he had truly listened to Qi Cheng’s words and merely said, "If I can’t make it, you have to take good care of my sister. Don’t bully her, don’t hurt her... She seems cold, but once she cares about someone, that person becomes her whole world."

"I don’t want to hear you say these things." Qi Cheng inexplicably disliked this atmosphere.

Chen Chen fell silent.

Ji Yunhuan came downstairs and saw the two sitting there silently. The atmosphere felt a bit strange. She smiled, "What are you guys talking about? It looks like you had a fight."

"Even if I argue with you, I couldn’t possibly argue with Chen Chen!" Qi Cheng knew how much Ji Yunhuan cared about Chen Chen.

He glanced at Chen Chen and said to Ji Yunhuan, "I was just thinking that we should take Chen Chen to Su Zi’s school for a visit in the next few days."

This decision made Chen Chen inexplicably nervous. He looked at Qi Cheng, a suspicious blush appearing on his face. "Can I... can I go?"

His somewhat nervous look made Qi Cheng feel even more that he was right.

Though Chen Chen normally appeared calm and composed, observing everything around him, in reality, he was often just a transparent-hearted child.

The things that could please him were as simple as they could get.

Qi Cheng said, "You can, but it depends on when Dr. Bai is free. There are many people at school, and I wouldn’t dare to take you there casually. Otherwise, not only would your sister scold me, but Dr. Bai might also blame me."

Chen Chen looked at Ji Yunhuan.

The trace of anticipation in his eyes didn’t escape her notice.

She smiled and said, "It looks like Chen Chen really wants to go, so let’s set up a time!"

He would enjoy school, but Ji Yunhuan never had such a bold idea of taking him there for a look.

As they spoke, the phone rang. It was Su Zi. "We’re almost there."

"Su Zi is back, I’ll go pick her up. You stay here and wait."

"I’ll go with you. Chen Chen, do you want to come?" Ji Yunhuan felt that she had isolated him too much before. Perhaps, he should be allowed to experience a normal life more.

Chen Chen nodded.

He had long wanted to see Su Zi.

The three of them came to the door, greeting the car fleet of Su Zi’s parents, which gradually drove into the Qi Family’s gate and then stopped in front of them.

The servants opened the doors, and Su Zi’s father was the first to step out, then he held Su Zi’s mother’s hand as they got out together.

"Uncle, Aunt." Qi Cheng said in French, "Long time no see, welcome."

Su Zi’s parents had been living in France for a long time and seldom returned. The last time they met was when Su Molang had an accident.

Su Zi’s father replied in perfect Chinese, "It hasn’t been that long since we saw each other, and now you’re showing off your French?"

Su Zi’s mother also smiled elegantly. "Qi Cheng, long time no see."

Qi Cheng pointed to Ji Yunhuan. "This is my wife, Yunhuan. This is Uncle and Aunt."

"Welcome." Ji Yunhuan greeted Su Zi’s parents politely as a junior should.

Su Zi’s parents’ eyes lingered on her for a moment but they didn’t say anything.

Qi Cheng said, "Please come in! Everything has been prepared for you at home. You can rest assured."

Su Zi’s father replied politely, "We actually didn’t want to intrude, but Su Zi is staying here, and she insisted we come over, so we thickened our faces and came along."

Qi Cheng laughed. "We are family, no need to be so polite."

Everyone headed back to the living room.

Su Zi’s mother looked around and didn’t see Su Zi. She couldn’t help but ask, "Where did that girl Su Zi go?"

Qi Cheng looked around and saw that Chen Chen was also missing, realizing those two probably snuck away.

Qi Cheng said, "She had some school activities these days and hasn’t come back. She must be tired. She treats this place like her own home. Wherever she goes, it’s no problem."

Su Zi’s mother sat elegantly on the sofa, with no flaws in her appearance. She exuded a similar gentle aura to Su Molang, with a subtle smile on her face. "She really is something. Her parents come, and she has others taking care of us; she should really come over here. She’s troubling you, Qi Cheng."

"Aunt, you’re being too polite. We are so happy to have her here."

Qi Cheng humored them.

Ji Yunhuan sat beside them, feeling that both Su Zi’s father and mother were secretly judging her.

They must’ve known her identity by now, and the past connection she had with Su Molang.

It’s a lie to say she felt no guilt.

The matter with Su Molang, no one could be unashamed after.

If Su Molang were just a frivolous rich young man, she wouldn’t feel so.

But he was the kind of person who made everyone think highly of him.

To whoever’s in her position, guilt would be inevitable.

Although Ji Yunhuan and Qi Cheng had dinner with the Qi Family before returning, Qi Cheng still arranged a sumptuous dinner for them.

With guests present, they had to accompany them as hosts.

The atmosphere the whole evening was great. Su Zi’s parents didn’t bring up any unpleasant matters.

After everything was settled and they returned to their bedroom, it was already ten o’clock.

Inside the room, Qi Cheng hugged Ji Yunhuan, leaning against the wardrobe, desperately sniffing her fragrant hair.

Ever since they became intimate, he liked holding her whenever they were alone.

Ji Yunhuan didn’t struggle. She stayed quietly in his embrace.

He cupped her face and kissed her.

Their shared breath tangling with the aroma of red wine.

Ji Yunhuan took in his smell. This captivating scent still couldn’t suppress the tinge of guilt in her heart.

"Feeling down?" Qi Cheng released her, panting, looking down at her in his arms.

Ji Yunhuan said, "I thought I wouldn’t feel guilty, but seeing them made me a little sad."

When they drank and chatted earlier, thinking about Su Zi’s parents’ looks, she felt uneasy.

Qi Cheng understood. He felt the same way. He held her tighter, resting his chin on her head. "I feel the same. But no matter how sad, guilty, or sorry I feel for them, or Su Molang, I will never let you go. For you, I’d rather be abandoned and hated by the world."
