Chapter 149: Chapter 149 Loved You Very Much_1
Qi Cheng stood aside, watching her. "Every day you’re with Second Sister-in-law. Have you ever taken the time to think about me?"
He knew he was still bothered by the matter with Second Sister-in-law. He bitterly thought she was spending time with her just to spite him.
Ji Yunhuan smiled. "When I was in the hospital, Second Sister-in-law came to see me every day. Even if I am close to her, it’s justified. It’s certainly better than someone who visited once without saying anything before leaving, right?"
"Seeing you so happy with her, I didn’t want to disturb you," he said coldly.
Entering the house, Qi Cheng’s gaze swept around the living room. "You’ve done a good job decorating this place."
"Of course. Even without you, I can handle things just fine."
At the very least, she had basic self-reliance skills.
Yet, even though she could live well on her own, she still thought of him.
She squatted down and took a pair of slippers from the side, tossing them to him. "Put these on!"
"You’ve even got men’s slippers here. It’s obvious they’re not for me," he said as he changed his shoes.
"Then leave them. Just wear mine," Ji Yunhuan looked at the big jealous guy and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Noticing her smile, Qi Cheng quietly changed his shoes.
He pulled her to sit on the sofa. "Haven’t you thought about me at all?"
His words made her pupils tighten slightly.
How could he ask such an obvious question?
She turned her head away from his eyes. "Does it matter if I thought of you? It’s not like you care."
He raised an eyebrow and pressed her onto the sofa, looking at her delicate features. "You heartless woman. Clearly, you haven’t thought of me!"
Looking at his expression, it didn’t seem like an accusation. It felt more like he was whining.
It seemed that ignoring him for a while had made him better than before.
Ji Yunhuan bit her lip, finally giving him a way out. "How do you know I didn’t think of you?"
"Clearly, you didn’t." He looked into her eyes. "I can’t see myself in your eyes."
"Look carefully." Hearing herself say that she missed him would definitely make him smug, wouldn’t it?
Still putting on an act here.
Knowing he cared about saving face, she didn’t bother to expose him.
Qi Cheng met her gaze, and their eyes locked.
He seemed to really want to find himself in her eyes.
Just looking at her made his heart feel full. It wasn’t like when she wasn’t around, where his heart felt empty no matter how much he tried to fill it.
His dark eyes slowly filled with resentment. "You’re just torturing me."
"How am I torturing you?" Pinned under him, although he was trying his best not to really press on her, the sense of oppression still made Ji Yunhuan a bit breathless.
"You know that when you’re not by my side, I think about you. Yet you never came to see me." He sounded like a child who couldn’t get his candy.
"Aren’t you the same?" She found it a bit funny. "Why does it always have to be me looking for you?"
"Hmph."
"Hmph, what? Clearly, you did something wrong before. I apologized to you, but you didn’t appreciate it. Now you’re blaming me? Aren’t you being unreasonable?"
"I’m mad because you don’t love me at all!" He spoke so sincerely that even Ji Yunhuan almost believed it.
Avoiding his eyes, her voice lowered slightly. "Don’t you know whether I love you or not?"
"No."
"Fine. Then tell me what I have to do to prove that I love you."
"When I’m working, you need to support me," he said. "How can you team up with others to look down on me? That’s your duty as a wife. Don’t you understand even that?"
"I don’t understand," Ji Yunhuan said. "It’s always men letting women have their way. When you clearly did something wrong, why should I join you in being wrong?"
Regarding the matter with Ye Suya, she didn’t feel she was wrong even now.
Qi Cheng couldn’t be bothered to argue with her.
He knew they had argued too much over trivial matters.
He reached out and hugged her, his voice softening, "I’m not here to fight today."
"I can tell."
"I think of you every day. I think of you when I sleep, when I eat, when I work..." He looked at her intently, suddenly speaking sweetly.
Ji Yunhuan felt a bit embarrassed. "Stop it. Isn’t that a bit too much?"
Listening to him gave her goosebumps.
He thought he was some romance novel character, didn’t he?
"I’m serious. How could you dislike me?" When she wasn’t by his side, he thought of her every minute and every second.
He felt he couldn’t return to a normal life.
Seeing him looking so aggrieved, Ji Yunhuan said seriously, "I’m not disliking you."
She endured him even during all those unhappy times. She could endure him one more time.
Of course, she knew he was telling the truth.
Because what he said was also true for her.
—Thinking of him, thinking of him, thinking of him...
No matter what she did, he was always on her mind.
But she was used to being indifferent.
Even if she thought of him, she would hide it.
If he didn’t come here, she guessed she wouldn’t have gone to find him.
Even though she missed his scent so much.
Just as she thought of this, Qi Cheng’s lips came down, his dominant breath mixed with a faint smell of tobacco.
His scent was like a large hand repeatedly kneading her heart.
She felt her body go weak. She just wanted to stay in his arms, not think about anything, not leave him.
Feeling her actively embrace him, Qi Cheng couldn’t help but smile.
He was very pleased with her reaction.
Before coming here today, he had hesitated for a long time. Second Sister-in-law always badmouthed him, and she loved being with Second Sister-in-law so much. He was genuinely upset!
But at this moment, he felt his trip was worthwhile.
Qi Cheng raised his head, looking at her delicate features, his beautiful lips falling onto her eyes.
Ji Yunhuan closed her eyes, trembling as she felt his tenderness.
"Yunhuan." His voice was soft and intimate.
"Yeah?" She opened her eyes to see him so close; their faces were almost touching yet separated by a sliver of distance.
"I love you very much." He looked at her black hair, the strands entwined in his fingers like elusive sand. "I don’t want to fight with you anymore."
"You said that before." But he still quickly forgot and did something to make her angry.
"Every time I get upset with you, I’m the one who feels the worst." Thinking about it, he felt he was at a big disadvantage.
Ji Yunhuan leaned against his chest and couldn’t help but laugh. "Glad you know that."
He hugged her tighter. "You’re here just to torment me."
Feeling she might drown in his melting tenderness, Ji Yunhuan said, "I’m hungry. I want something to eat."
"Didn’t you eat at the hospital?"
"I did."
He looked into her eyes. "So you’re finding an excuse to get away from me?"
