Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Encountering Bai Liyan_1

Leilei spoke casually, but Ji Yunhuan felt a pang in her heart. Sometimes neglecting things was a sign of irresponsibility. Taking advantage of the mealtime, Ji Yunhuan said to her, "Even if they aren’t here, you should still go to school."

"I don’t want to go."

"Why?"

"School is not fun."

"..."

Seeing Leilei like this, Ji Yunhuan felt helpless. Yet her heart ached for her.

Halfway through the meal, Qi Cheng’s mother came over and asked Leilei, "Are you full?"

Leilei shook her head.

Qi Cheng’s mother glanced at Ji Yunhuan, "I’m going back. If Leilei likes it here, let her stay. I’ll have someone pick her up tonight."

Ji Yunhuan looked at Leilei and nodded, "Okay."

Qi Cheng’s mother added, "Take good care of Qi Cheng. Since you married him, you should act like a wife. Stop doing unreliable things every day; you’re not a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl anymore."

It was evident she did not trust Ji Yunhuan very much.

Ji Yunhuan nodded.

After Qi Cheng’s mother left, Qi Cheng did not come over either. Ji Yunhuan stayed and played with Leilei.

The female housekeeper came over, "Mrs. He just called, saying He Ya won’t come today."

"Why?" Ji Yunhuan asked, puzzled.

Yesterday, when He Ya came, she was happy, but she seemed a bit off when she left. Ji Yunhuan didn’t think much about it at the time. Now, it seemed like something had happened.

The female housekeeper said, "Mrs. He said it seemed that Young Master Chenchen didn’t like He Ya or something. You know, young girls have some pride."

"Chenchen doesn’t like her?" Ji Yunhuan frowned.

She originally thought that with He Ya’s personality, she should get along well with Chenchen.

It seemed she was overthinking.

In the afternoon, Ji Yunhuan felt uneasy and decided to check on Chenchen. As a result, she was stopped by a servant outside.

"Young Master Chenchen said he doesn’t want to see anyone today. Madam, it’s better not to go up."

Ji Yunhuan stared at the window upstairs, "Why?"

"He found out about Ms. Suzi leaving yesterday," the servant said. "He seems to be in a bad mood."

"..." So, he was deliberately sulking with her?

For the first time, being refused by her brother made Ji Yunhuan feel awful.

She didn’t even see Qi Cheng, who appeared to be very busy.

So she could only spend her time teaching Leilei to play the piano at home.

It wasn’t until dinner that Ji Yunhuan went to see Chenchen. This time, he didn’t stop her. Ji Yunhuan walked upstairs. In the room, Chenchen wore a large nightgown, looking lazy. He greeted her, "Sis."

For the first time, Ji Yunhuan felt uneasy.

She looked at Chenchen, "You don’t like He Ya?"

Chenchen said, "No! It’s just that inviting her over is a hassle, so I told her not to come."

"That means you don’t like her." If he liked her, he would want He Ya to come.

Ji Yunhuan looked at him, "Chenchen, I don’t want you to associate with Su Zi. Are you angry with me? Do you like Su Zi very much?"

Chenchen shook his head, "No!"

"Don’t lie to me. I don’t want you to speak to me with such a perfunctory attitude. Mom and Dad are gone, and if you treat me like this, do you think there’s any point in Sis being alive?" Everything she did was for him. But if he didn’t understand her, then none of it mattered.

Chenchen looked at her seriously, "No. Just because you’re my sister, if you don’t want me to hang out with her, I won’t."

He just felt a bit lost thinking that Su Zi wouldn’t come again.

When Ji Yunhuan left, she met the Qi family’s servants coming to pick up Leilei. After Leilei left, she stayed outside alone for a long time under the night sky.

Late at night, Qi Cheng didn’t sleep in the study. He pushed open the bedroom door. Ji Yunhuan was already asleep, lying on the wide, soft bed like Sleeping Beauty with her eyes closed.

Ji Yunhuan was not actually asleep. She thought Qi Cheng wouldn’t come back tonight, but he did. She lay on the bed, feeling physically and mentally exhausted, too lazy to open her eyes to look at him.

She heard Qi Cheng go to the bathroom to take a shower.

She lay quietly in bed, feeling him come out of the bathroom after a long while and get directly into bed.

Although they shared the same bed, it felt like an ocean lay between them.

Qi Cheng did not turn off the light, just leaned against the headboard, looking at her.

Unconsciously, he reached out a hand, his fingers brushing her face lightly. Feeling her slight tremor, he realized she was still awake.

She still seemed angry with him, unwilling to acknowledge him.

He withdrew his hand, lay down, and fell asleep.

The next morning, when Ji Yunhuan woke up, Qi Cheng was no longer there. If she hadn’t been awake last night, she would have thought he never came.

After getting up, she heard from the servants that Qi Cheng had gone out to handle some matter.

In the afternoon, when Qi Cheng returned, Ji Yunhuan wasn’t home. He asked a servant, "Where is Young Mistress?"

"She went out by herself. We don’t know where."

"Don’t know?" Qi Cheng’s face darkened immediately, "How can you not know? I said someone should always follow her. How could you not know?"

After what happened last time, he would never let her go out alone again.

The servant said innocently, "Madam said not to follow her. She drove herself out."

Qi Cheng sat down on the sofa and took out his phone.

It happened to be raining today. The rain fell on the umbrella with a steady drip, which was quite annoying.

The phone rang in her bag, but Ji Yunhuan didn’t hear it.

She held flowers in one hand and an umbrella in the other, walking to her parents’ graves.

Their cemetery was far away. The drive from Qi Cheng’s house took more than three hours one way.

It had been a long time since she’d visited her parents. Now that she was married, she had to come visit, especially since she was feeling very low.

Originally, she thought protecting Chenchen was the right thing to do, but in the end, she realized she was more wrong than she had imagined.

After spending a while at the gravesite, she left, fearing she wouldn’t make it back in time if she stayed too late.

When she was about to get in the car, she saw a figure in a black suit holding a black umbrella standing in front of her car.

She walked over. Hearing her approach, the figure turned around and saw her, "Ms. Ji."

It turned out to be Bai Liyan.

Ji Yunhuan was very surprised, "Dr. Bai, what are you doing here?"

"Just came to visit an old friend and couldn’t believe I’d run into you here. I thought this car looked familiar." The Qi Residence’s car had a distinctive mark, he recognized it at a glance.

Ji Yunhuan said, "I’m here to visit my parents."

"Your parents are here too?" Bai Liyan glanced up at the foggy mountain, "After what happened before, you still dare to wander around alone. You must have some guts."
