Chapter 83: Chapter Seventy

"So you were spying on me?" Erwin picks up my phone from the table looks at the picture for a brief second and then tosses it over the table. He sounds pissed. "So I am not good enough for you to trust, huh?"

"Stop misunderstanding." I snip, "I don’t have anyone watching you but I do have someone to keep you safe."

"What do you mean, keep me safe?" Erwin frowns. "Did you hire a bodyguard? Without me knowing?"

"I was worried that you might get into any trouble because of me again so I hired one for you." I sound too robotic and our eyes are clashing against each other. Both of us are pissed but for different reasons. "Don’t try to change the subject, Erwin. Explain why you are with Leon."

"I am not trying to change the subject, Leo." Erwin is trying his best to keep the volume of his voice in check as his frustration and anger pour out, "Just tell me why there is a bodyguard. Do you think I am this incapable of protecting myself or I am this unreliable that you need to hire a body to look over me? I mean seriously?"

"This is not it Erwin." I still don’t stand from my seat and don’t break my eye contact with him. My frustration and eagerness are evident in my voice. "I am just trying to protect you! Last time when you got into that accident...you don’t know Erwin how much I freaked out. So you should have a bodyguard."

"What do you mean?" Erwin runs a frustrated hand over his silver hair, "That the freaking bodyguard can save me from anything, at all? Do you really think it’s possible?"

"I don’t know if it’s possible or not Erwin. I just want you to have protection." I know I am being unreasonable here but I can’t help it. "I just want to make sure that you are alright even when I am not with you."

"You are being paranoid here, Leo." Erwin breathes exasperatedly, "Whatever you are saying is making no fucking sense. I am a skilled fighter myself. If I can’t protect myself then no power in the world can save me!"

"But at least someone can be there if you need them!" I counter. "At least he can inform if things go south! Why don’t you understand?"

"I understand!" Erwin returns, his voice doesn’t have any restraint anymore. But then he takes in a deep breath and tries to calm himself down, "I am trying to understand but I am not quite understanding why you hired a bodyguard when you know that it is not going to be of any use anyway. Are you trying to spy on me, Leo?"

"What the fuck are you talking about Erwin?" I push up from my desk, my brows pinched, "Why would I want to spy on you?"

"This is the thing I should be asking you?" Erwin snaps, his jaw clenched and he is clenching and unclenching his fist to calm himself down, "Why are you trying to spy on me, Leo? Am I not trustworthy enough? Do you think I will betray you in any way? Tell me, Leo."

"You have got all this wrong!" I reply as I step out of my desk and stand before him, "I am not trying to spy on you. I just want to make sure you are fine. I trust you this is why I am asking you why you met Leon."

"Right, if your bodyguard has already told you about that then call him and ask him about the rest." Erwin retorts, "Why are you even bothering to ask me?"

"You are being too demanding now, Erwin." I sneer, "I am asking you because I trust you. The bodyguard thought that something was wrong if Leon was reaching out to you on his own so he gave me a precaution that’s it."

"Fine." Erwin rolls his tongue inside his mouth and pops the muscles on his neck by rolling it. "Snow wants to meet you."

"What the fuck are you talking about, Erwin? Are you out of your freaking mind?" I retaliate, "You are telling me to see him?"

"Yes." Erwin states, "He wants to talk to you for only thirty minutes. It wouldn’t kill you if you just go there and meet him. He wants to fix whatever you two have broken in your relationship. This is why we met. He wanted me to talk to you and convince you to meet him."

"In one line, he bided you, is that correct?" I am so mad that I want to laugh. My heart is pounding against my ribcage so violently that I am wondering why it isn’t out of there yet. The blood in my veins is boiling like a volcano and my limbs are trembling. I am feeling betrayed. And its ugly color is filling my pinched vision.

"Leo you don’t have any fucking idea what you are talking about." Erwin snaps furiously, "You are making things more complicated than they already are. You are misunderstanding the situation!"

"Oh really? Then make me understand Erwin." I retort, "Tell me what is it!" I am gasping and my cheeks are flashing because of the overwhelming anger fogging any coherent thought in my mind.

Erwin stares at me for a brief minute before wrapping his hand around my waist and tugging me toward him before my body is flush against his and then slams his mouth against mine. He starts to kiss me ferociously just like the way he was arguing with me earlier. Furious, hot and breathless.

I try to push him away but his grip is so strong that he doesn’t even budge. He nips at my bottom lip sharply and fiercely. A loud whimper escapes my throat and Erwin takes the opportunity to slide his sinful tongue inside my mouth. His tongue tangles with mine and slurps on it hungrily. His tongue is so hot, it feels so good in my mouth that my knees go weak.

He is making me understand how wrong I am about him. How wrong I am to think that someone who is kissing me this intensely, this urgently can ever betray me. He is showing me with his actions, not with his words.

I clutch his hoodie so tightly that my knuckles turn white. I want more of him. Every piece of him. He pulls his head away a little but I stand on my tip-toe and capture his mouth again so that he can’t break the kiss.

"Leo, wait. You need to breathe." He cups my face and pulls away just a little, only allowing me to breathe, "Breathe."

My chest rise and falls as I desperately gasp for air. My lungs are burning from the force.

"Snow just wants to see you." Erwin gasps for breath too just like me, his forehead is resting on mine. "See him. If you want then I will go with you. And if you go and see him I will let the bodyguard by my side for a while, okay?"

I nod, still breathing heavily. Guess, both of us are as stubborn as the other. We won’t sacrifice anything when it comes to the other’s best. What a pair... But I don’t hate it. Not at all. Actually, I quite like it. I like the way we are. Too stubborn to see our own good but we still have each other to look for each other.

We step away from each other, and both of us are quite astonished and flustered at the outcome of our heated argument. I have never seen anyone make up like this. I rub the back of my hand nervously, heat creeping up to my cheek and my heart is drumming in my chest erratically and it is not for anger anymore but for desire now.

Erwin clears his throat, "Umm, Leo so...are you going to see Snow?"

"Are you keeping the bodyguard?" I return him with another question.

"If you are going to see Snow then I am going to keep the bodyguard." He replies, his face is turned away from me, but I can see his red earlobes.

"If you are going to keep the bodyguard then I am going to see, Leon." I hum in the same manner.

Erwin then slightly turns to me, "Well, Leo, can I continue what we were just doing?" He licks his swollen lips.

"Are you asking me or telling me?" I grin and Erwin grabs my hips and molds his body with mine.

He tilts his head until his mouth is just a few breaths away from mine. I know I am behaving like a slut by not looking at his eyes but at his lips with so much hunger and greed I didn’t know that I had. And the way I feel my hole weeps for him is unspeakable.

"Stop looking at me like that Leo," Erwin whispers, sending wave after wave of electricity down my spine, leaving a burning hot trail in its wake. "If you don’t then I will fuck you right here and now."

"It’s late and the floor is empty. No one will come." I grin seductively before his mouth is against mine once again, engulfing my smile.
