Chapter 70: Chapter Sixty
LEO
Ultimately, I didn’t go back to the company as I was busy collecting evidence against my abusive elder sister. And you won’t believe what Ruth said after checking Tina up. He said there were too many bruises on her body, old and new and he needed a very long time to record them.
He also said that they were caused by excessive physical violence. Every single one of them. He then informed the police and we filed a case against Jessie.
The police were really shocked when they found out that I was the culprit’s brother. Their faces were laughable.
Kevin almost wept when I told him that I wouldn’t be coming back. He even begged me to do some work and it was too pitiful to ignore. After all, he is not entirely wrong. The amount of work that has been piled up for me is taller than me if I put them together.
I took the whole last week off and I am barely done with that week’s work. Let alone catching up on my daily work. I have a feeling that if it keeps going like this then I will have to give up on the project but I could care less about that. Even if I couldn’t care less about losing the project, my company does, so I have to work unless I want to prove myself an unworthy candidate for the chairman seat.
Right now I am taking Tina and Rita with me to my manor since they don’t have anywhere to go. I know they can also go to Tina’s parent’s house but the result will all be the same since Tina’s father would be intrigued and then throw them inside that hell of the house again. And I can’t let them do that. This is why I am taking Tina with me. She will be safer with me more than anyone in the world.
I cast a glance at the back seat where Tina is seated with Rita on her lap playing through the front mirror. Guess, I should buy some convertible seats for Rita. She has grown bigger in all the months I haven’t seen her. I think She doesn’t recognize me anymore since she has never tried to come to me in all these hours I have been out with them.
"Uh, Leo?" Tina hesitates, "Are you sure I can come with you? I mean won’t I intervene your quality time with your husband?"
"No, it’s all right. You, don’t have to worry about unnecessary details." I reassure her, "And Erwin isn’t that type of a person who hates people. He likes them. So rest assured and think about yourself."
She smiles mildly and nods hesitantly. Her shoulders are stiff and she looks wary of everything around her. It’s not her fault. After all these years of torture and torment at last she is free but she still can’t cope with it. It will take some time and she has plenty of it.
I pull my car in my driveway and park it. I get out of the car and open the door for Tina to get out.
"Thank you," Tina whispers and I just nod in acknowledgment.
I walk into the spacious living space to find Erwin, reading a book. Maybe he’s studying something. He looks up from his book when he hears my polished shoe clacking against the floorboard.
"Leo," His eyes soften and the corner of his lips curves into a mild smile. He walks up to me and kisses my cheek before stroking it, "You are early today."
No. I am not early today. It’s late but I have come home earlier than usual. "Something happened," I say as I lean to his touch.
"What happened?" He continues to stroke my cheek.
"Tina is here." I turn around and signal Tina to step forward. Erwin follows my line of sight and his eyebrow jumps in surprise.
"Oh my, what a pleasure to have you with us today Tian." Erwin greets her politely.
"Thank you." Tina returns, "It’s my pleasure to be here with you and Leo."
"I will have someone to show you where you will be staying," I call my butler and he takes her toward a clean guestroom.
After Tina is out of our sight Edward asks, "Why is she staying here? I mean you said something happened? What happened?"
"Well, about that..." I give him a full encounter of the things that happened. "I am sorry. I should’ve asked you before bringing her here."
"What are you talking about?" Erwin puts his hands on my hips and pulls me closer. "It’s your house. You can do whatever you want to do with it."
I feel the heat creeping up my neck at his gesture. "Let me wash up first and there is a child at the house now. So, keep your hands to yourself." I take two steps back.
Erwin groans, "How can I keep my hands off you when you are everything I can think about? And remember you are my king, so I ain’t letting no child take you away from me."
"Nobody is taking away anybody." I shake my head, "Did you eat dinner?"
"No." He answers, "I was waiting for you to come and we will eat together."
"Okay." I smile, "Give me a minute and I will be there in a minute."

Erwin is not talking about the incident that happened with Tina. Why is he not talking about it? I want to know his opinion about it.
My mind wanders off to the far-off distant horizon as I walk on my laptop in my studies. I don’t have any idea what I am doing anymore. I can’t focus on my work, no matter how hard I try to concentrate.
"Can’t concentrate?" A sudden whisper just beside my ear almost gets me jumping on my feet.
"What are you doing here, Erwin?" I flinch, as I shift my position on my revolving chair and spin around to look him in the eyes.
Erwin’s hand is gripping the table edge on my both sides, caging me in my chair between his arms. Our faces are just inches away. I cross my arms over my chest. He grins. It sometimes amazes me how easily he can smile.
"I missed you."
"I was just in the room next to the bedroom." I breathe, and my warm breathing brushes his face like a warm soft feather.
"But I was not with you." The moment his breathing touches my skin, every nerve in my body jolts as an electric spark shoots out of the end of my nerves.
I spin around, and so does my revolving chair, "I need to work, Erwin."
"I am not telling you to not." Erwin’s breathing is hot on my neck and the butterflies in my stomach have been set free.
"I can’t do anything if you are here." I try to fight back the blush creeping up my neck and my cheeks.
"But I thought, my kitten wanted to say something to me." Oh God his breathing and voice along is turning me on. "Did I get you wrong, kitten?"
I shiver, "Do you not have anything to say about all the things that happened to Tina?" I say, trying to subside my desire.
"Hmm," Erwin leans away, spins to his feet, and stands before me. He leans on the desk and drawls, "It’s actually none of my business, Leo. It is your family matter, you need to solve it yourself. But I will help you if you need help with anything. And yes, I do feel bad for Tina and Rita. They shouldn’t have been harassed like this. They don’t deserve it."
And he is right. He actually has nothing to do with my family, since he barely knows them.
"Hmm." I press my lips and say nothing in return. " You have a point. And this is all I want to talk to you about. Go to sleep now. You should make the habit of waking up in the morning. You are gonna be a professor very soon. What will your students learn from you?"
Erwin is not a morning person. He is very bad at waking up in the morning. So perfect people have flaws too. But it’s okay. He looks cute when he struggles to wake up in the morning.
"But this is not the only thing I came here for, Leo." he smirks and leans down again, "I want something more than this."
He captures my lips between his and suck on it. Instantly, I thaw. My resolve of not to thaw thaws. I close my eyes and grip his shirt. I tug him closer to me and he cups my face between his large palm and comes closer. He rests his one knee at my side and leans down even more as I lean up. He lifts me from the chair then he sits there himself and sits me on his lap. I wrap my arms around him and press him closer as his tongue roams my mouth and his hand strokes my spine line under my shirt.
There is no further question that Erwin is going to take me right here and now while the study’s door is wide open and my work is still on the screen.
