Chapter 428: Seduce Me? Don’t Even Think About Running
After a moment, he let out a quiet laugh.
No wonder Mrs. Reid had told him at the club she had something to say once they got home.
So this was what she meant.
Yeah, she was definitely mad.
When Selina really shut the door, Luke swallowed hard, both nervous and excited.
"You really just locked him outside?"
Selina’s face was expressionless.
"So what? He’s not Logan. Why wouldn’t I lock some random guy out?"
Luke sucked in a breath.
"Uh... wow..."
He knew better than to get involved. He didn’t want to be collateral damage if the gods started fighting.
"Okay, I’m going upstairs to sleep."
Selina nodded.
After Luke left, she finally strolled slowly to the door.
There was a small security window in the big fancy door. She flipped it open and peered out—
Where’d he go?!
The space outside was empty. Logan, who’d been there a second ago, was gone.
Selina’s temper flared in an instant.
He left?! He didn’t even have that much patience?
Sure, he hadn’t meant to get those rumors going with Riley, but he did go to her birthday, which gave Riley the chance.
And now he couldn’t even bother to stay and coax her a little?
She didn’t even know exactly what she felt. It was like resentment mixed with self-disgust. She let out a huff.
Fine. Gone? Not coming back? Then she’d just change the door code!
She didn’t hesitate at all. She yanked the door open to go reprogram the lock—
But the moment it swung open, a hand gently closed over hers.
Logan was standing right there, smiling slightly.
"Mrs. Reid, willing to let me in now?"
Selina tried to yank her hand back. It didn’t budge.
"I’m changing the code. Can’t have some criminal breaking in at night."
Logan raised an eyebrow.
"Criminal?"
Selina snorted, a hint of annoyance in her voice as she smoothed her hair.
"Yeah. My husband isn’t supposed to be back for two more days. Who are you, showing up at my house in the middle of the night? Obviously I’m changing the code."
Logan couldn’t help but cough lightly.
An angry Mrs. Reid was... weirdly adorable.
He braced his hand on the door and spoke quietly.
"I thought it was Hunter who called me to the CY Club. I didn’t even know it was Riley’s birthday. I didn’t bring a gift. Do you really think I went to celebrate for her?"
He made perfect sense, but Selina still felt sour when she remembered Scott and Riley.
Although Scott had paid a small price already... as for Riley...
Selina’s eyes gleamed.
"Fine. Come in."
Logan caught that look. He knew she was scheming something.
Once he was inside, Selina shoved him toward the bathroom with a deadly serious face.
"You know, you’re right. I shouldn’t blame you for someone else’s setup. You’ve had a long trip. Go take a good shower."
Logan: "..."
Mrs. Reid’s sudden concern was... oddly flattering.
He didn’t know what plan she was hatching, but he played along completely.
After he finished his shower, Selina pressed her lips together, looking a little awkward. But she held firm when she pictured what she wanted to do next.
"Logan, I have a gift for you. Lie down and close your eyes."
That one surprised him. Logan’s eyebrow ticked up.
"A gift?"
Selina hesitated for a second, then nodded firmly.
"Yeah. A gift."
The man lay down calmly, doing exactly what she said and closing his eyes.
He felt something soft and silky wrap around his wrist, snug enough to dig in slightly.
He raised an eyebrow—was that a necktie?
Selina decided the scarf wasn’t secure enough, so she rummaged in Logan’s closet and grabbed a few more ties, using them to bind his wrists to the sides of the bed.
Then she leaned down and pressed a kiss to his lips.
Logan’s breath caught instantly. His whole body went taut from the sudden jolt of sensation.
Selina kissed him once, then sat on top of him.
"Okay. You can open your eyes now."
When he did, his dark eyes were full of heat. His breathing deepened.
"Do you have any idea what you’re doing?"
Tying him to the bed, straddling him, kissing him—
Selina forced herself not to blush too hard. She nodded seriously.
"I know."
Then, after hesitating for a moment, she leaned down and gently bit his Adam’s apple.
Logan’s fists clenched hard. He swallowed with difficulty.
"Selina..."
"I was really angry when I saw those photos and those rumors about you and Riley."
Selina whipped out her phone right there, pulling up Scott’s post.
"Look! She’s sitting on your lap. She even kissed you!"
Logan’s voice was rough.
"...It was the camera angle. She was just giving me a toast."
Selina let out an unimpressed "Oh."
"But nobody else believes that. The rumors are everywhere. They’re even saying you two are getting engaged for business."
Logan exhaled slowly, obviously at his limit.
"I already had the PR team start clearing it up."
"Oh..." Selina nodded. Her slim fingers traced down from his Adam’s apple, teasing open the silk pajama shirt to reveal lean, firm muscle without being overly bulky.
It was clearly her first time trying to "seduce" anyone. Her cheeks were burning red, but her hands didn’t stop moving.
Logan’s breathing grew heavier. His muscles were straining tight. Selina, curious, poked them gently.
The man abruptly closed his eyes.
"Mrs. Reid. Untie me."
Selina’s eyebrows shot up in delight. Finally lost control, huh?
That’s exactly what she wanted!
She gave a little huff, then slowly slid off him under his hungry gaze.
Tilting her head in mock innocence, she said lazily: "Mr. Reid, I’m going to bed. Have a wonderful night~"
Logan: "..."
This little troublemaker had lit the fuse and refused to take responsibility.
Selina thought this was the perfect punishment. She walked away feeling smug—
But then she heard a sudden crack.
She froze. A bad feeling crept up her spine.
Behind her, the sound of fabric tearing was unmistakable.
He’d snapped the ties.
Before she could react, he was on her, wrapping her up effortlessly and lifting her in his arms like she weighed nothing.
Logan’s voice was slow and low.
"I don’t think Mrs. Reid is sleepy at all. Why don’t we... keep talking?"
"..."
Selina’s face went pale. She glared at the broken ties.
Useless pieces of crap!
"Logan, I think we can still talk about this—mmph—"
By the middle of the night, the usually stoic Selina—who never made a sound even when hurt—was crying helplessly against Logan’s neck, shaking her head.
"Stop, I can’t... I really can’t..."
She’d learned her lesson. She was never teasing Logan like that again.
By noon the next day, Selina was struggling to roll over in bed.
When Logan walked in, he found her looking dazed, her bare shoulder peeking out from the covers.
His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed.
"Mrs. Reid, I want to discuss something with you."
