Chapter 415: Dream Within a Dream

Selina was stunned.

...So Logan can be sarcastic too!

Logan didn’t give her time to react before ordering people to throw the entire Perry Family out.

As they were being escorted away, she even heard Owen resentfully muttering: "Mom... you knew about today in advance, so why didn’t you act better?"

Amelia snapped back, furious: "Everything I did was for you! How can you let Logan turn you against me?"

"But Logan wasn’t wrong. The reason they’re doubting I’m not Anna’s son is all because of you!"

...

Grandma Perry’s smile turned colder and colder. Once that family’s backs disappeared from view, she said:

"Come with me to pay respects to Anna again."

"And have people clean every inch of Pear Blossom Estate."

Those people had been here—filthy.

...

A few days later, back at Sapphire Valley Villa, the Perry Family surprisingly didn’t make any more trouble.

Selina was about to graduate and had one last exam. She was looking at calculus problems in her class group chat, reading along until she fell asleep.

Logan came in and immediately saw her knocked out on the couch. He nodded slightly and picked her up, carrying her to the bedroom.

...

Selina felt like she was having a dream.

In the dream, she was lying in bed while Logan leaned over, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her face. His hot kisses slowly trailed downward.

Selina: "..."

Huh? Why was this dream so inappropriate?!

She tried to shake herself awake. But he seemed to notice and held her even tighter, pressing his body to hers with no space at all.

His kisses kept going lower until he stopped at her collarbone, biting gently.

Her whole body was heating up, a strange sensation coursing through her limbs.

She felt restless, trying over and over to get off the bed, only for him to pull her back by the waist every time.

Eventually, she was so exhausted she couldn’t move, her arm falling limp, sweat dripping from her fingertips.

She squirmed uncomfortably, screaming in her head.

Ah! What was she even doing!

It was just a dream—why was she dreaming something so embarrassing?

Yes. It was a dream. Just a dream!

Selina jerked awake in bed.

...

Next to her, Logan cracked his eyes open, looking sleepy. He glanced at the clock, seeming confused about why she was up at 11 p.m.

Selina looked around sharply, frowning.

Wait. Wasn’t she in the living room looking at calculus problems? How was she in the bedroom now—and it was dark outside?

That dream she’d just had was in the bedroom, with Logan...

She stared at him as he slowly sat up, the blanket sliding down to reveal his well-defined chest.

She got it.

A dream within a dream. That’s what it was! She didn’t want to wake up and face calculus, so she just kept dreaming!

...

"You—" Logan began.

"Don’t talk!" she cut him off before he could say another word.

Determined to avoid that kind of embarrassing dream happening again, she rummaged in the closet for a long silk scarf.

Logan watched in surprise as she tied it around his wrists.

Yup. That would do. She decided she’d just go back to sleep naturally.

As for dream-Logan... well, she didn’t trust her own willpower. It was safer to have him tied up!

Logan was silent for three seconds.

"...What exactly are you trying to do?"

Even if this was all a dream she’d made up, she couldn’t very well admit: In the last dream, you and I did all kinds of things.

So she just gave a little huff.

"None of your business."

The scarf was flimsy, tied loosely enough that Logan could break free anytime.

He tugged at his wrists, frowning slightly.

...How did Mrs. Reed become like this after waking up?

Selina sat at the edge of the bed, bored, watching the seconds tick by.

Weird. Why wasn’t she waking up yet? Was she really that tired? Was it because calculus was so hard she didn’t want to wake up?

She couldn’t help thinking about that calculus problem. Hm... actually, it wasn’t that hard. She’d figured out the solution!

Turns out, people really did have amazing potential in dreams—she’d solved a tough problem in her sleep!

Afraid she’d forget it, she tried to wake up quickly. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t. She’d close her eyes and open them again—still in the bedroom.

Selina frowned and muttered to herself: "What’s going on...?"

Logan watched her in silence.

He wanted to ask the same thing.

"Mrs. Reid, do you need my help?"

Selina hesitated. Because of that dream just now, even if she was still in a "dream," she felt weirdly nervous around Logan.

The Logan in her dream had been way, way too...

Logan noticed her face turning red bit by bit.

He was genuinely puzzled.

All he’d done was ask if she needed help, and Mrs. Reid was blushing like this.

...

Selina was still trying to wake up. She’d heard that changing the scene in a dream could sometimes help. Even if she couldn’t wake up completely... at least she could make Logan vanish from her dream!

She went to the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face.

It’s fine. According to dream logic, once I go back to the bedroom, Logan will be gone. That’s how it always works.

She took a deep breath, pushed open the bathroom door, and stepped back into the room—

She thought she must be seeing things. She quickly shut her eyes and counted a few seconds before reopening them.

But he was still there, in her line of sight.

At some point, the silk scarf had been untied, now draped loosely around Logan’s strong, handsome wrists. He caught her staring and raised an eyebrow at her.

Selina: "..."

This Logan is way too real for a dream!

She couldn’t help it.

"You... why are you still here?"

Logan raised an eyebrow.

"Mrs. Reid, this is our bedroom. Why wouldn’t I be here?"

"But..." But I’m supposed to be dreaming!

Logan saw her faraway, vacant expression, and his eyes narrowed slightly.

"Wait. Mrs. Reid, do you think you are dreaming??"

Selina froze.

Hold on—how is this Logan so sharp? Is this really just a dream version of him...?

Suddenly, a terrible thought struck her. She reached up and pinched her own cheek hard.

Her face changed instantly.

—No way. This wasn’t a dream!

Selina looked completely shell-shocked, like the sky had fallen.

...

"Seems Mrs. Reid finally realized," Logan said coolly, nodding slightly as he slowly stepped closer. His fingers brushed under her chin.

"I saw you asleep on the sofa this afternoon and carried you here. Didn’t think you’d sleep straight through until now."

Selina shivered.

"S-So that’s what happened?"

So she’d already woken up from the dream—thank god! She could go back to sleep now.

"But..."

Logan blocked her way, leaning in with an unreadable look in his eyes.

"But I’m curious about this dream of yours. Why did you wake up and immediately try to tie me up... What exactly did I do to you in that dream?"

What he did to her...

Selina’s face turned bright red in an instant.

Logan’s mouth curved into a knowing smile. "Mm. I see."

See what!

Selina opened her mouth to yell at him—but before she could get a word out, his hot kiss fell on her lips.
