Chapter 385: Who Really is Grey?

Chapter 385

"Let’s begin your Ki circulation lesson," Yami announced, his arms folded across his chest. "Now, you already know what Ki is. You’ve seen how it’s used and all that. But do you know that there are stages of Ki—just as there are stages of a Yun Warrior?"

"There are stages of Ki?" Grey asked, his eyebrow raised in genuine confusion.

"Yup," Yami nodded casually. "I’m not going to go into full detail yet—we’ll get to that as time goes on. For now, just know that we’re starting with the first stage of Ki."

"So what is this first stage of Ki, sir?!" Grey asked, and Yami blinked in surprise before suddenly bursting into a loud cough.

"When did you start calling me sir?" he asked, then immediately broke into a laughing fit.

"When I realized you’ve been casually wearing two hundred kilograms on your body," Grey muttered, shaking his head.

"Please, I’m still a young, handsome guy. Don’t make me feel old by calling me sir," Yami said, waving a hand in the air dramatically as he laughed so hard a tear streamed down his cheek.

"Yeah, sure. Whatever," Grey scoffed.

"Alright, now let me tell you what the first stage of Ki is," Yami said, and Grey leaned forward slightly, his eyes focused with growing interest.

"See, this first stage allows a warrior to strengthen their cells and internal limbs. You won’t be able to emit it outwardly or coat it around weapons like higher-stage warriors can, but internally? That’s where it starts.

As you advance through the stages of a Yun Warrior, you’ll be exposed to more refined Ki techniques—ones that will make you deadlier and more efficient in battle." Yami explained calmly, his voice steady and instructive. Grey nodded, absorbing every word like a sponge.

"So..." Grey began, but Yami raised a finger to cut him off.

"I know your next question, and I’m getting to that," he said, rising from the ground and stepping behind Grey. "Stay still. I’m about to help you feel how Ki moves through your body.

What I want you to do is close your eyes, eliminate every distraction, and focus solely on the movement I create. Feel it. Memorize it. Register it within your body. When I let go, you’ll try it on your own. Are you ready?"

"Always," Grey replied firmly. The moment he felt Yami’s cool fingertips press lightly against his back, he shut his eyes tight and began taking in deep, rhythmic breaths.

Yami’s hands glided slowly across Grey’s back in a steady, flowing motion. In sync, Grey’s breathing matched each movement—inhale... exhale... deep and calm, allowing the stillness to sink in.

After a few moments, Yami paused, closing his own eyes. Deep within Grey’s body, his Ki stirred.

The energy began to move out of his Dantian, gradually seeping into his limbs and cells. The flow was slow but powerful, almost like warm water moving through icy veins.

Wherever the Ki flowed—his arms, his legs, his chest—Grey could feel his cells hardening, growing tougher and sturdier. A surge of strength tickled his muscles. His speed, his durability—everything was subtly elevated by the passage of Ki.

"I’m sure you’ve felt that by now," Yami whispered softly, his hands still lingering just above Grey’s back. "Now... do it yourself."

With that, Yami slowly withdrew his hands.

Inside Grey’s body, the Ki that had been coating his cells began to retreat, trying to return to his Dantian. But in a swift act of instinct, Grey seized control.

He steadied his breath, focused his mind, and began guiding the Ki himself—moving it slowly through his limbs, directing it around his muscles and organs.

He was doing it.

The Ki was no longer foreign or elusive. It responded to him—obeyed him. And as it coursed through his body, he felt his cells tighten, fortify, and come alive with dormant power.

First were his hands. Instantly, he felt a surge of strength course through them as he clenched his fingers in and out. The power in his grip was undeniable—raw, solid, and intense.

It felt as though his strength had suddenly doubled.

Next, he directed the Ki to his feet. A strange lightness overcame him, as if his legs had shed their weight. He bent slightly, bounced on his toes, and marveled at how quick and responsive they felt—like they could take flight with a single push.

His body was next. As the energy coursed through his torso and limbs, he could feel how durable and firm it had become. There was a strange sense of invulnerability, like even a sword might bounce off his skin.

Then he moved it to his ears, and instantly, his senses sharpened. Chirping sounds from deep within the forest echoed into his awareness, settling in his ears as though the birds were singing right beside him. Even the rustle of leaves several meters away felt as vivid as whispers in his ear.

"I can see that small smile on your lips. Which means it was successful, right?" Yami asked.

Grey nodded softly, still immersed in the experience.

"Good! Now tell me, how big is your Dantian currently?" Yami asked again, watching him closely.

"As big as a baby’s fist," Grey replied calmly.

Yami raised a brow, though Grey couldn’t see it.

’How is this possible? This isn’t normal. When starting out, a person’s Dantian is usually the size of a pea. But his is bigger than that—far bigger. Is it a miracle... or something else?’ Yami internally pondered, his gaze fixed on Grey.

’It’s like he skipped the first step entirely. Normally, the Dantian begins small—pea-sized. Then after a week or more of cultivation and refining Ki, it grows to the size of a baby’s fist.

But Grey...

He skipped straight to crawling. No fumbling, no hesitation. I knew he was special the moment I found his broken body lying in the forest. But now I wonder... how did he even get into that condition? Where did he come from? Who is Grey, really?’

"Yami sir, is there a problem?" Grey’s voice suddenly cut through his thoughts.

"Yes, I’m fine," Yami replied with a soft smile that, once again, Grey was unable to see.

’There’s no use dwelling on all that now. I found him, took care of him, brought him into my home. He’s my responsibility. It’s my duty to equip him with the tools to protect himself. Whether he uses my teachings for me or against me... only the future will tell.’

"So... what’s the next step?" Grey asked, his eyes still closed as he continued circulating Ki through his limbs without pause.

"The next step," Yami said, returning to the moment, "is dividing your attention."

"Dividing my attention?" Grey echoed. "What does that mean?"

"What are you doing right now?" Yami asked.

"Circulating my Ki to my limbs—one at a time. Trying to get used to switching between them."

"Exactly. But now, you’re going to learn how to move your Ki to multiple limbs at once," Yami explained, his tone calm but instructive.

Grey smiled faintly. "Why not? Let’s get to work."
