Chapter 523: Chapter 426 Gospel Extra_2

Ash had no doubt that they could even stay here safely until the Weaving Festival ended.

However, Hanna’s visit to Fidel wasn’t purely for refuge.

After washing up, Ash and Harvey returned to their seats. The room was narrow and the table small; the six of them sitting together felt a bit cramped, but they had gotten used to it over the past few days. Once everyone was seated, Hanna announced, "We can start eating now."

Only then did everyone begin their meal, which consisted of cream pasta, egg bacon bread, and milk tea today. Banjee said, "This breakfast cost a total of 32 copper coins, and I have 73 copper coins left, Ash, take it."

"Mmm," Ash took over the household’s financial reins.

Hanna asked, "Harvey, what work do you have today?"

"Still going to the construction site," Harvey replied, "One needs recommendations to enter the local morgue here, and since we’re not staying for many more days, I won’t bother."

"And you, Igula?"

"I became friends with Miss Martha yesterday, and she agreed to let me run her fortune-telling club room for a few days." Igula said, "I’ll try being a fortune teller."

"I plan to change jobs," Banjee suddenly mentioned.

"Why? Isn’t your current job as a handyman going well?" Hanna asked.

"But the boss’s daughter seems to have taken a liking to me," Banjee calmly stated, "It’s not good for her if I stay."

"Isn’t that quite good?" Igula laughed, "If you settle down and start a family here, wouldn’t that be the ’happiness’ we’re seeking?"

"Yeah, exactly," Hanna also laughed, "Is she good-looking?"

"Stop teasing me," Banjee’s expression remained unmoved, "My happiness lies in the lady achieving happiness, nothing more... Besides, having been in the Gospel for so many years, I can’t deceive the Gospel. At most, I can only cooperate with you."

Upon arriving in Fidel, Ash and the others immediately inquired about the next item on Hanna’s list.

Although Igula found it quite fun, for Ash, Liss, and Harvey, who were not interested in intellectual games, the "Deceit List" indeed left a psychological shadow on them; they would never give Hanna a chance to pull the same trick again.

However, the fourth list didn’t need to be hidden, and Hanna directly told them the upcoming fourth theme: happiness.

Under normal circumstances, Ash and his friends would never have a chance to make it onto this list.

Even though they were foreign workers filled with countless possibilities, it wouldn’t work.

After all, no matter how happy they were, they absolutely couldn’t compare to Yvalin, Qinna, Mercury, and other ruling classes wielding power and wealth. Although the Gospel Suggestion predicted that Ash and others would dominate the Gospel in the future, even then, the happiest wouldn’t be Ash and his friends, but Ash’s children.

What could be happier than being born with a golden spoon?

As for the phrase ’rich people are not happy,’ that’s a lie the wealthy tell the poor. After all, if everyone keeps saying ’being rich is great,’ the poor would eventually hang the rich on lamp posts and squeeze them dry.

However, under the inevitable premise of an approaching apocalypse, the definition of ’happiness’ changes.

In an apocalypse, happiness is definitely not about power and wealth. After all, society has collapsed, and everyone’s future is uncertain. What use is power? Can you order takeout? Can you gather eight players to play Extreme Cutting Carp?

So, everyone quickly realized what the true definition of ’happiness’ here was: life.

If a group of people could support each other during the apocalypse and maintain a dignified life, even if the quality of life is not much different from before the apocalypse, that would be the greatest happiness.

Therefore, Hanna did not rent a large house in the wealthy area of Fidel but instead rented a small hut in a chaotic village. Ash and three others slept in bunk beds in one room, and she slept with Liss in another room, aiming to be closer to the impending apocalypse—life in Kingdom of Gospel indeed was closest to apocalypse conditions.

To better role-play and deceive the Gospel, Hanna laid down three rules: everyone must work for a better life; living expenses must come from earnings and not touch any savings; and try to save as much as possible without affecting quality of life.

It wasn’t that Hanna was unwilling to give money, but her money was too effective; just the interest from the Doran family’s bank could let Ash and others lie flat and enjoy in Fidel. They would indeed be happy, but they would certainly be eliminated by the Gospel!

Because of these three rules, they hardly ate anything on their first day in Fidel until Harvey and Banjee found work and got things back on track.

"Liss," Hanna asked, "How is your studying going?"

Everyone had to work, and Liss was no exception. Although she didn’t need to go out to work, she had to stay home and study the Gospel Book. The results naturally weren’t as good as those from the ’customized’ education pods, but at least the materials in the Gospel Book were free and professional, even able to assign homework for practice. Following its guidance definitely wasn’t a loss; it just required strong self-discipline.

"It’s, it’s all going well..." Liss’s tone faltered.

Hanna raised an eyebrow, "Let me see your homework reviews."

"Really, it’s all good—"

"Stop the nonsense!"

Purple Moth still maintained her authority, and Liss begrudgingly opened the Gospel Book to the homework page and turned it around for Hanna to see. The young lady frowned deeply, "Why is your other homework all fine, but mathematics is a mess? Gospel thinks there is a major defect in your mathematical thinking as reflected in your homework, suggesting you give up on this subject?"

"What!?" Ash was shocked, completely unable to believe this astounding fact, "Did Gospel really say that? Impossible, right!?"
