Chapter 319 - Chapter 319 Chapter 272 I Am Considered Disabled Because I
Chapter 319: Chapter 272: I Am Considered Disabled Because I Can’t Impregnate an Elf_2 Chapter 319: Chapter 272: I Am Considered Disabled Because I Can’t Impregnate an Elf_2 Hanna gently stroked her own earring, “For example, if there were an elf maiden by nature playful and fond of male beauty, how would you pick a suitable partner for her?”
“A playful male?” Ash guessed, “And then everyone does their own thing?”
“Wrong,” Hanna said, “Your pairing violates the basic principle of marriage: mutual benefit. Two similarly playful people together, while not harmful, also bring no gain; it’s the same as not getting married at all. Furthermore, betrayal is part of the fun. If your partner doesn’t care about your infidelity, then cheating is pointless.”
Ash looked at the images on the Light Screen, his face devoid of any smile, “So, the best match for a playful elf would be a devoted, ambitious Beastman with decent abilities?”
“Yes,” Hanna nodded, “With an elf wife, the Beastman Mage feels happy and is motivated at work; and with a Beastman husband, the elf has her partner’s affection on usual days, and she can sneak around for thrills when she needs to. Both gain happiness; that is a mutually beneficial marriage.”
“But what if they get caught?” Ash pointed at the Light Screen, “Is that still called a suitable marriage?”
“If we didn’t intervene, what do you think would happen?”
Hanna, seemingly sitting for too long, crossed her legs to change her posture and straightened her back to relax her body, speaking calmly, “The Beastman Mage goes to work at seven in the morning and comes home at five in the afternoon to see a virtuous elf cooking. By six o’clock, the elf daughter also comes home from middle school, and the family happily finishes dinner together.”
“Guided by the Gospel Book, they would happily enter the grave without any incidents that might destroy the family.”
The Gospel Book.
An idea gradually took shape in Ash’s mind, “The elf asks the Gospel Book how to deceive her husband?”
“Glad you’re catching up with me,” Hanna smiled, “But that’s still not right. If I’m not mistaken, the elf would have learned techniques like ‘Counter Reconnaissance’ in her secondary education and then regularly used the Gospel Book to check for any slip-ups, ensuring the Beastman Mage would be kept in the dark for his whole life.”
“And the Beastman never suspects?” Ash continued, “Just a little doubt, and then consulting the Gospel Book…”
“Would you suspect your pillow of growing jaws and biting you?” Hanna asked, “Human thought is unable to transcend our cognition. Besides, Beastmen are not inherently suspicious, and as long as the web of lies is sufficiently dense, he will never escape.”
“But wouldn’t that turn the Gospel Book into a tool for betrayal?” Ash immediately shook his head after speaking, “No, that’s wrong; from the beginning, the pairing of the Beastman with the elf was already harming them!”
“Harming whom? Doesn’t the Beastman gain a virtuous wife? Doesn’t the elf gain a husband who cherishes her?” Hanna retorted, “Betrayal is just a trivial matter.”
“Then what is a big deal?”
“Getting caught is the big deal.”
“That’s not fair!” Ash spread his hands, “The Beastman did nothing wrong; why should he have to endure such–”
“The Beastman isn’t purely a good man either,” Hanna said, “He’s proud, so he secretly suppresses outstanding subordinates at work, he consults the Gospel Book on how to keep his position, even if it means setting up his subordinates… The damage he causes others may be more than the harm his elf wife’s infidelity causes him.”
Ash frowned, his Consciousness faintly anticipating that Hanna was about to cast a Miracle on him–a Miracle more motivating than any Contract.
Hanna continued, “Everyone has their private desires, everyone has their own standpoints, and everyone wants to encroach on others’ benefits. If everyone were to clash according to their own selfishness, then most of society’s resources would be consumed by infighting.”
“So, is there a system that can regulate everyone’s desires, ensuring everyone achieves happiness?”
A book appeared in Hanna’s hands.
Miss’s lips twisted into an upward sneer, an expression that seemed both disdainful and helpless.
“Under the guidance of the Gospel Book, the three threads of lifelong education, lifelong labor, and lifelong marriage weave a flawless web of social relations. Within this net, everyone hurts others to satisfy their own desires, yet all are covertly harmed by someone else.”
“But that’s okay, for the Gospel Book weaves the perfect lies for them, keeping them ignorant of their own suffering. The Beastman Mage’s subordinates don’t realize they’re being set up by their boss, and the Beastman Mage doesn’t know his wife seeks pleasure elsewhere while he’s teaching.”
“Just like the seamless flow of traffic on the ground and the orderly drone flight paths above, this vast relational network continues to operate meticulously and without flaw, with deception filling the gaps and lies acting as lubricant to prevent rust.”
Ash was stunned for a long while before he managed to choke out, “So, by disrupting their routine, are we actually doing something bad?”
“To hearken to the Gospel is to find happiness,” Hanna said. “Conversely, hearing our noise will lead to unhappiness.”
At that moment, the Beastman Mage landed a heavy punch, knocking out several of the blond man’s teeth.
Suddenly, Ash said, “We can’t just watch; we have to help!”
“Weren’t you enjoying watching just now? Why would you want to save–”
“I just want to save this Beastman Mage!” Ash said. “If this keeps up, he might kill someone, and there’s no reason for him to be taken away by Red Hat because of that!”
“Then rest assured,” Hanna said. “I’ve looked into it. Although this Beastman Mage has a hot temper, he’s never killed even an animal from his childhood to now. As a production mage at the company, he generally holds back even when angry.”
Ash immediately felt relieved, but then felt something wasn’t quite right, “Generally?”
“If someone deliberately humiliates him,” Hanna continued leisurely, “then it’s no wonder if he loses his mind in anger.”
Buzz!
Suddenly, the sound of flying vehicles filled the sky. Ash looked up and through the transparent roof he saw several Mages with Red Hats zooming by overhead. The boots on their legs spewed hot blue flames for propulsion, assisting their flight in the skies!
The warning of Red Hat echoed through the sky, “The criminal in Holy Spirit Building, floor 35, room 3506, please immediately cease your criminal activities. Raise your hands and face the wall; otherwise, Red Hat will execute forceful measures, warning once! Holy Spirit Building…”
Trouble.
Ash saw the Beastman Mage in the drone’s footage, his eyes nearly red with rage. The arrival of Red Hat would undoubtedly incite further conflict. There might have been a chance for the Beastman Mage and the blond man to resolve things privately, but Red Hat’s broadcast exposed the incident in room 3506 to the entire building!
“He really cares about his face,” Hanna remarked.
Thud!
No sound came through the drone’s footage, but Ash felt as if he could hear the sound of a life shattering.
