Mage And Wolf
Chapter 267

Chapter 267: Chapter 267

I am awakened in the morning by a frantic mental message from Hui’Jin. "Get up, we’re under attack."

Those are the magic words that can drag me off of a bed in a hurry, and I simply will my High Priestess robes into existence before jumping out the window to see where the invasion is coming from. To my shock it’s not Beasts or giants but a group of ten human cultivators.

"Turn over the war criminals or the Bunny dies." A man’s voice shouts and I can hear Lelou arguing with whoever is out there.

[Divine Transfer they call themselves] Hui’Jin informs me through the link Dragon Priestesses share.

They’ve got some serious gall to show up here after what happened last time. Or maybe that’s why they showed up.

"What are you idiots after that is so important you needed to shout and wake me up?" I ask, lightly skipping along the ground over to where an overweight and sweaty cultivator is holding Lala hostage with a blade to her throat.

"By the Unquestioned Decree of the Immortal Council of the Divine Transfer, a Warrant has been made for the arrest of the cultivators known as Young Miss and Black Lord for Crimes against Humanity, Mass Murder of Mortal Realm Cultivators by an Immortal, the destruction of Transfer Planet 137 and the resulting Genocide." He declares.

"I’m quite certain you’ve got the wrong person. Just look at who you’re accusing, she’s barely more than a child herself." Alpha Conway insists, gesturing in my direction while Lelou and Hui’Jin try not to laugh.

"Relax Alpha, I am sure we can get these unfortunate allegations dealt with in a timely manner. Now, cultivator, kindly release the Bunny, or I cannot guarantee a peaceful resolution to your summons."

"I’m not falling for that, you Demon. I release this dirty demi human and you’ll run away on us." He snarls.

Fine, we’ll do this the hard way. Their group is all Immortal cultivators, but they’ve overlooked one very important fact. This is Earth, not a regular cultivation world.

Cultivation power is limited here to the lower side of Core Formation. Even Nibbles, with her limited Cultivation Core is nearing the current limits of a cultivators usable external power level.

I begin walking their way with my hands spread wide, as a sign I’m not hostile. "See, I’m coming to you. Now, kindly release the Bunny so we can have a civil discussion about this misunderstanding."

"Misunderstanding? Four Billion dead is not a misunderstanding." One of the goons in the back row screams, a hysterical note creeping into his voice.

I guess that means the nuclear explosion Karl sent through the portal worked well, and nobody managed to stop it before it chain reacted through the entire planet’s atmosphere, burning the surface of the planet to ash.

As I get closer, the leader throws Lala back at Alpha Conway and grabs me by the throat, picking me up off the ground with a triumphant look. I feel a Barrier take effect, preventing me from external energy manipulation and he sets me down again, looking pleased with himself.

"You’re captured and collared with an Immortal Realm Energy Binding now. Come quietly if you know what’s good for you."

No, that’s not going to happen. Not after he threatened Lala. Such a kind and gentle Bunny doesn’t deserve such treatment.

The others begin to turn to leave, as if everything was already decided as seen in their oracle. Honestly, they need to hire some new ones, because these ones have a horrible accuracy rate. It’s a bit shocking they even managed to get the right location.

"Katrina, should I inform someone?" Lelou asks, not sure what I’m up to.

"No need, I’ll send them the message myself." I say, hearing the haunting laughter everyone insists I do during combat already beginning to creep in to my voice.

This alarms the leader of the apprehension force, he must have been warned about at least that one fact, so I waste no more time, driving my hand flat into his chest, claws extended and easily piercing through the green cotton cloth of his robes and then his flesh, with the strength of an Immortal Realm physical cultivator.

My hand slides smoothly between the third and fourth ribs into his vile body and I close my fist when I feel the back side of his ribcage, before pulling it back out holding a still beating heart.

"You forgot an important bit of trivia. While both of our Cultivation Energy is limited in this world, I’m still stronger and faster than you are." I tell the dying man before feeling the restriction he placed on me fail.

With that I call for the Energy Dragons to attack the cultivators beside me, driving them backwards as I pull a sword from my storage rings and impale a youthful looking, but balding cultivator directly in front of me. I can hear that others have joined the battle as well, taking advantage of the shock and confusion to eliminate the two I knocked off balance.

A second sword is needed as more of the green robed men charge me, determined to carry out their task. All warrants that the Divine Transfer Cult sends out are Dead or Alive type warrants, and in my case, I’m sure they’d prefer dead.

I can hear Snapping and snarling from the pack members who were on guard duty today as they attack the intruders and I am tempted to call them off. They’d take it as an insult to their abilities, but these cultivators are armed and I don’t want to see anyone on our side get hurt.

I’m fighting one versus four, held to a standstill thanks to the combat skills of the cultivators they sent, until help arrives from an unlikely source. A throwing knife coated in a Lightning technique from the Divine Lightning style, the one and only throwing knife technique I’ve taught the pack so far, lands expertly between the shoulder blades of one of the two who are being held off by the Dragon portion of my combat techniques.

He freezes, startled and wounded, just long enough for the next attack to remove his head from his shoulders.

Crouched behind a pile of rubble I can see Cedar and Nibbles, along with one of the kitchen staff celebrating their victory. Judging by the damage done, I would say Nibbles made the throw, the others don’t have a high enough cultivation to have been the perpetrator.

With one of out the way, I can focus properly without getting surrounded, and I start putting the others on the defensive, joined by some of the stronger werewolves from the pack.
