Mage And Wolf -
Chapter 263
Chapter 263: Chapter 263
When most of us have finished cultivating for the morning and are headed to breakfast, I notice Alpha Conway looking over at a group in a corner of the room. The younger girls of the pack.
"You know, my instinct says reprimand them for sleeping in past breakfast, but they’re cultivating, and I want them to do that, but it still irks me seeing people napping with a stuffed animal in the middle of the morning." Conway says looking at me.
"Oh I know the feeling. They just look so happy and peaceful you just want to put them to work, right? Don’t worry, I’ll wake them up to eat and then they can cultivate in their rooms where they’re not underfoot." I say with a grin.
"Works for me. Also, the pack wants to thank you, the Divine Lightning technique worked wonders for them. Even the ones who had the aptitude but were struggling to get a grasp on basic cultivation to get started all managed to move into the first step of the Foundation Realm last night. We’re down to under twenty werewolves who can’t cultivate, and none of them are pack warriors."
I nod, Calculating their combat strength, should something more manageable than the last Horde reach the pack. He’s not done talking though.
"I do believe we’ve got the strongest Omegas in the world though, they’re all average or better cultivators. We’re going to have to redefine the pack hierarchy at this rate. Before cultivation, the more dominant the wolf, the stronger it was. Now, with Omegas leading the cultivation, some of the most powerful cultivators have the most submissive Wolves."
"I don’t really have an answer to that for you. But I can guarantee it will help solve the problem with Omegas finding mates. I mean, who is going to regret their mate for their low social standing when they have a good chance of giving you the strongest children?"
That makes him think for quite a while before he frowns as someone sends him a Mind Link.
"We’ve got incoming again. Category 1 and 2, nothing the patrols can’t handle. Policy is to bring everyone inside when there’s an attack, but we’ve got the wall now, so I’m not sure we have to." He explains.
"Just send a pack wide warning. Those who want to go in will, those who feel safe enough will stay out. You can call all the children in if you like."
"You sound like you’ve done this before. That’s exactly what we’ll do today. Oh Cedar, what’s up Princess?" His daughter tugging at his plant leg distracts him at the end.
Her and the girl who wanted to be an assassin are both waiting behind the Alpha, but looking at me.
"Alpha Conway, can we talk to Alpha Katrina? We have questions about cultivation." The second girl asks. I’m surprised she’s up and moving, she must have thought this question was more important than returning to cultivation after breakfast.
"Sure, I’ve got a little while before I need to go help the pack with their combat training, what do you need to know?" I ask and the girls grab me by the hands, escorting me back inside, much to Alpha Conway’s amusement.
"You see, Cedar didn’t train for combat because she was sick, and my parents are Omegas, so I’ve been training to take over the cleaning and not the fighting, but we both really want to be like you. Could you help us with cultivation, so we can be strong enough to convince the Alpha?"
"Nibbles is really good at cultivating, you’ll see." Cedar says and the girl blushes.
"Don’t tell her my name is Nibbles, she doesn’t know it’s really Nicole." The other girl whispers, and I hide my laughter.
"You know what, I can help you with that. I’m going to be here a while, because it takes a lot of time to learn a new combat style well enough for it to be useful. So I’ll give you two special lessons, how about that?"
"That would be perfect. Where do we start?" Cedar says, sitting down in front of the couch they escorted me to.
"First I’ll need to check you both over, make sure you’re in good shape for special cultivation training. We don’t want you to hurt yourselves." Well, that and I’ll open up a few extra Meridians and clear their mana veins a little bit. Give them an advantage even if they’re not as dedicated as they say.
I start with Cedar, since her mom’s the most likely to come in and ask unnecessary questions. "Just lay down here and focus on moving the energy through your body. You got to that point last night, right?"
Cedar nods her head and scrunches up her face in concentration as she starts the circulation of the Divine Lightning technique. The circulation is just barely enough to even practice, I can see that her pathways have been damaged by the illness she suffered as a child. But just Barely enough is still enough, so I start repairing the damage before trying to change anything.
Even the Meridians that are open don’t open wide, so I massage them and clear the blockages until they’re all flowing freely. The extra energy flow makes Cedar give out a happy squeal, already feeling the improvement. Next up are the primary mana veins, they’re all hardened and inflexible, but there’s a pill for that.
"Here, take this and I’ll help your energy flow more smoothly." I say, popping it in her mouth and letting it dissolve. The effects are almost instant, and I quickly work to make the changes more pronounced and permanent.
Working on small children is easiest, their bodies are at their most malleable, and soon she’s able to cultivate as if she was never injured or sickly. So it’s on to opening more meridian points. She doesn’t have much of a cultivation base, too low to try advancing her, since she barely has a Foundation at all, much less a stable one.
Her major Meridians open, but that’s all I can do without collapsing her cultivation entirely.
"Alright Cedar, I fixed the injuries from your old illness, so you’re ready to start. Why don’t you cultivate while I work on Nibbles?" I hand Cedar a stuffed wolf doll, one of the Divine Realm ones I got from Beta John, and she cuddles it on the couch, getting right to work.
