Mage And Wolf
Chapter 102

Chapter 102: Chapter 102

The girls are excited to get their cultivation guides and supplies. The one Karl helped pick doesn’t require prolonged meditating. Like my technique, it’s also effective passively, perfect for hyper active sorts.

Now, none of them have any grand plans of gaining power, but the twins dream of lightning fast message deliveries and I suspect Lala was feeling left out with everyone else cultivating.

’Highness Katrina’ I hear a heavily slurred voice in my head that I’m certain is the Black Avatar ’I require 6 grade 2 mana stones, a kilo of fireweed and a Golem creation scroll"

All are things that can’t be made by the creation spells, but what on earth are they doing down there?

I track down Mary, who has a golem scroll and grab the fireweed from the storage, jogging to the elevator and heading for the 3rd floor.

’We’re in the restaurant. Find that Sexy Fox with more Elven wine too, will you?’

I hope they’re not harassing the staff too much. But the Forbidden Treasure Sect should be keeping their guests in line.

When I get to the restaurant a taller than average Fox Girl with a very ample busom and half her buttons undone is pushing a keg towards the private room.

"You doing okay? The Black Avatar seems extra fond of you." I tell her.

"Better than okay. If every day was like this I’d Transfer to the Resort staff" she giggles.

Well, alright then.

"Your Holiness" I bow entering the room to find just one man with a nude woman present.

"Sect Master" I greet Becky who happily waves a greeting but makes no effort to move from her place on the table.

"I have your supplies and more wine. The house Elven." I get to the point, happier to not know exactly what they’re up to now that I’m here.

"Do you have a cauldron? I forgot to pack mine, and I heard of this most wonderful aphrodisiac"

"I may be familiar with the one" I tell him evasively. Is it burnt or ingested?"

"Burnt like incense!" he shouts, before covering his mouth and hiccupping. "Could you possibly make it? I seem to have gotten a bit intoxicated while this lively young lady explained how amazing it is."

"As long as you understand, I’m definitely NOT taking responsibility for what comes afterwards."

He laughs and waves away my concerns, so I throw the last pill from the tournament concoction to him.

"Don’t let the smoke loose into the restaurant. Enjoy your stay your Holiness"

I set the initially requested supplies on the counter at the side of the room and nod to the waitress to follow me out. "You don’t want to be there for the next 6 hours or so. That smoke will affect the entire resort."

She locks the private room door and hurries off to warn the rest of the staff they may need to wear gas marks to fill orders for the resort for a while.

The chef comes out to greet me as I’m leaving

"High Priestess, pleased to meet you. We will be staying on your floor during our tenure here. Forgive any inconvenience."

"It’s no trouble at all. I hope the facilities are up to your standards, clear minded chefs make the best food"

He shakes his head "In my 600 years, this is the nicest Sect Ground I’ve had the pleasure to visit."

"Funny enough, this was built as a place for mages to hide before the normals of this world knew of their existence." I tell him. "Now it’s a gathering place for VIP guests of the city."

"Now I feel special" he laughs. "It’s nice that nobody can enter these floors without permission. During my travels I’m often swarmed in hopeful students trying to get my attention"

"I can lock your wing entirely, but it’s really only a few Priestesses and their staff in the entire floor."

"Not necessary, we have all we could ask for. Even the finest of raw materials. You have no idea how much that spell helps, as many dishes use plain ingredients and get infused with our magic to make something special."

"I did not know that. We should find some cooking instructors for the university, make it a training option and send chefs out into the universe."

"I’ll talk to the others. The training can take decades to master, but in maybe 5 years they could turn out a few dozen journeymen to staff quality restaurants around this world."

"The world would thank you for it" I chuckle and he had back to his kitchen.

Time to tell Karl and Neisa I added a course to their curriculum.

"We’ve got room, but no instructors for cooking at that level" Neisa says sadly. "It’s not like you can just find them everywhere, not even every planet has mystic chefs at the journeymen level"

"The chefs say they can find someone to teach, but do we have qualified students?" Karl asks.

"Any foundation level mage can make it to journeyman eventually if they’ve got the mana control. It takes far more skill than power." Neisa assures him.

"Every single recipe is like learning a new spell. Knowing something similar doesn’t necessarily mean you will have an easy time creating something new."

"Well that’s good news anyhow. Our world might be struggling to grow anyone of power, but we’ve got a lot of skilled practitioners." I sigh, thinking of the growing power of the portals.

At least we’ll have good food if we can keep things under control.

Since I’ve reached Condensation Realm, Karl has some experiments he wants to run. I can finally push energy out of my body, though it’s a struggle and easier to just coat myself with it.

Mystic Cultivators at my level often use energy as a ranged attack, the shaping coming naturally to them by this point.

What Karl wants to try is attaching focused energy onto an object, like he does with the bullet enchantments.

The attempt is simple enough, it attached and moves with the stick we’re using to test, but if I stop focusing or try to add a second object it disperses.

We try adding an inscription to the stick, empowering the Inscription activates it like it should, but same thing, my energy is drawn back to me if I don’t focus on it. I’m definitely not a Mage.

Multiple inscribed objects in my hands works fine though. And Neisa suggests it’s the Physical Cultivation nature of my power that it wants to be part of me, not thrown around. Being a Dragon, Physical Cultivators are very rare in her colleagues circles.

Next up are the not so fun tests. I activate my Dragon Armor and Neisa lets out a low whistle. "Where did you learn that? That’s a divine level skill we don’t often see outside the biggest cultivation sects" She elaborates.

"The world I spent some time in had a copy" I gloss over the details "They were kind enough to teach me."

No need to tell her I managed to make it a form of innate skill. In use the difference is negligible, but if I am cut off from using Qi or external energy it should still activate, and activate instantly.

Karl throws an energy blade at my gauntlet covered hand, and it dissipates without damage. then a small explosion near me that tatters and scorches my High Priestess’s robe. Felt that one, but no visible damage to my body or armor.

Last up is the part I hoped to avoid. Karl pulls a pistol and shoots me in the chest, the bullet stopping dead with a puff of purple energy.

"Impressive, it stops the penetrating bullets that so easily kill Rank 2 beasts." He makes a note in his book.

"Show me that spell" Neisa demands and he pulls out a copy of the circle to make penetrating projectiles.

"The more skilled you are, the more you can do at once. An immortal should be able to enchant an entire army’s worth of arrows without issue" Karl informs her.

The blue dragon is lost in her own little world, studying the circle.

Eventually she raises her head to rejoin reality "I like it. Not the most powerful, but it’s simple, stable and easily cast. You should give a copy to Lady Kal’Elouet."

"She’s got one. And the exploding version too. She’s even started trying to understand nuclear theory so she can figure out the columbs force reversal spell."

"The what now?" Neisa is in full researcher mode.

""The spell to make matter collapse on itself and explode, like happened to Washington DC." I tell her, instantly stopping her enthusiasm.

"Maybe that one is best left for the Red and Black Priestesses." She insists, more to herself than anyone.

"Best not taught to anyone at all" I mutter and Karl laughs. "Seriously, can you imagine the damage a Dragon in the Later Immortal Realms could do with that? Level continents and knock planets out of orbit."

I think Karl and Elder Song would get along very well, they both love to experiment in morally questionable ways.
