Chapter 101: Chapter 101

This morning is very warm. Opening my eyes I find we’ve all fallen asleep in the lounge watching movies.

Frozen is on repeat, Lala and the twins are being cuddled like stuffed animals by the High River Sect girls and there are Forbidden Treasure Sect cultivators sleeping everywhere.

Gently shaking Hui’Jin awake under my arm we head for the dining hall, finding Sect Master Becky holding a cup of coffee staring at the buffet.

"How did the servants know?" She motions towards the buffet.

"That’s nothing, sit at a table." I instruct her, finding a seat myself.

The Bunny Golems fade into being, gathering trays of food and serving us all.

"It’s a magical spell. It creates food you’re likely to want. The Golems are a special addition for this floor, but your new quarters will have an identical dining hall. The stones your Sect recovers will help power it all.

"Now that’s true luxury." She sighs. "You’re too good to us, I’m afraid I won’t be able to cover the favor when it comes due."

"This is only a minor favor. Most of it is a city service. But I have a suggestion. As a unique facility in Arcana that speaks to cultivators of status and a certain taste, you’re in a perfect position to serve as power brokers." I suggest with a sly smile I am certain looks odd on my face, made even more youthful looking with the recent breakthrough to the Condensation Realm.

"What I suggest is keeping two suites unbooked and a private table empty all the time. When the truly powerful or wealthy want to flex their might with a last minute reservation you’ll be able to accommodate, for a price."

"Genius. I was only thinking of the sect and our survival. Keeping an empty spot to exchange for favors is an amazing plan. We never really let people stay in the sect before, only held parties to garner donations."

Narishma wanders in, looking ragged. "Good you’re awake. Thanks for suddenly remodeling my base without warning by the way"

"Sect Master Becky, this is Narishma, a Vampire in charge of base operations for the underground levels."

"Yes, pleasure and all. I made changes to the plan. there’s now 2 additional private rooms in the restaurant. Seating for 10 each, soundproof and magically shielded."

"Funny, we were just talking about that." I laugh.

"High Priestess Lelou grabbed 4 very famous chefs from her Empire and we’ve got a group of 10 high Priests wanting reservations for tonight."

Becky looks horrified.

"The facility is ready, the dragons worked all night. The chefs arrive later this afternoon with tonight’s ingredients, your staff arrives in an hour."

"Welcome to Arcana, Sect Master" I tease patting her head. "Best get things ready, those guys are minor royalty on their world and they’re staying with you"

"But I don’t even know what to charge!" Becky yells, waking everyone up.

"It’s 2 silvers a seat in the restaurant, 1 gold a night for the resort. At least for now." Lelou reassures her.

"The restaurant seats 100, plus private rooms. Not huge, but not too small for your chefs. Drinks are programmed into a spell by the kitchen. We’ll teach the staff"

"Why, pray tell did you accept bookings for tonight?"I ask.

"It’s the 10 Avatars of the Holy Council. If they say they’re staying and eating here tonight, they are." Lelou explains.

"Scratch what I said earlier Becky. These guys rule planets. They’re all Bordering on the Divine Realm and the most favored of their Goddesses and Gods."

She’s got her game face on now. "Wake up girls, we’ve got 4 hours to master our jobs at the Resort before royalty arrives to determine our fate!"

It’s pandemonium, but they’re all moving, grabbing food, signing their names to the job positions on the roster. Looking for lost clothes.

"All positions filled for the day Sect Master" one calls out. "But there’s no cleaning jobs, who has that?"

"The base is self cleaning" Narishma shouts to be heard and everyone cheers. I wouldn’t want to do their laundry either.

"Staff into your finest new pattern dresses. Serving girls for the beach area into the cabana bar bikini outfits."

Looks live they’ve done this before. Well, sort of.

I spend the day with Lala, Lelou and the twins watching an intense training session that would put most Sect training to shame.

To much fanfare, OK, to the 5 of us cheering, they’re declared ready just 15 minutes before the chefs arrive. I book one of the private rooms, the Avatars have another and a consortium of merchants drops a smooth 50 gold to book the last after all reservations are filled.

"See, it’s worth it to not book that last room." Narishma laughs.

"They’re all coming together tonight and all from different worlds, so this is an experience not many will get to have." Lelou elaborates.

The Avatars look impressed when they arrive, having toured through a bit of the city to get to the base entrance. Me, Karl and Lelou get polite, businesslike greetings from the Red and Black Avatars and the Green takes Sect Master Becky aside for a chat.

"Service will begin in ten minutes" the hostess announces and we split apart to head to our rooms before they unlock the elevator to let the public in.

"What did The Green want?" I whisper to Becky.

"He offered me a divine treasure to reserve the resort for their group and not be interrupted for any reason the entire week they’re here" She whispers back.

"Understood, I’ll have it announced they left tomorrow morning and disable the outer resort locks" Narishma answers, having heard us.

"Someone booked me a seat, right? I may have forgotten" Karl laughs.

"Yeah, Mary and Jake will be here soon. Jurgen and the others are out of town." And so our Motley Crew got seated for the fanciest meal of our lives so far.

It’s 4 courses of amazing, followed by a 4 flavor dessert tray. The chefs are using magic to blend flavors and energies of ingredients to create something that us mere mortals cooking with fire could never imagine.

"Is it just me, or is this worth way more than what we’re paying? No way is 2 silver a seat enough to cover this experience."

"They’re all mostly cloistered cultivators. They wanted 1 stone each every day and a quiet place to cultivate. So that’s what they got. They’ll be living in the second floor with us, but in their own wing where they won’t be distracted."

Second floor really is the catching grounds for everyone fun. Even if they’re only willing to interact with others for one hour a day during meal times.

After dinner is time to start teaching the creation spell new things. That lovely translucent silk, a wide variety of medicinal herbs from the other Realm. We unfortunately find it can’t replicate pills or higher tier magical ingredients, much like the problem it has with magical food.

But that lets me, and any other alchemist in town, create basic healing, stamina and rank 1 Qi gathering pills. The basics of the basics for Foundation level cultivators.

And there are a lot in the city. After seeing the bounties the Adventurer’s Guild offers, everyone who can’t already use magic is trying to become a cultivator. Even the twins and Lala have managed to reach the First Foundation level.

Me and Karl agree to give them some pointers and techniques, along with a supply of these easily made pills, so I spend the night at my cauldron, making the basics for our favorite fluffy people.

Basic healing pills I make a lot of extras of. The recipe can be made in bulk and with a big cauldron I borrowed from the blue disciples I can make two hundred at a time. The pills can can close wounds in seconds and partially mend broken bones, greatly speeding healing time.

The price is a bottle of 10 for a silver in the Adventurer’s Guild trading guide, not much of a profit to whoever makes them, but it’s best if every household has a few on hand I think.

I head to my room to give the girls the pills and cultivation guides we prepared and find I have visitors. The 3 High River Sect girls, Lala, Allie and Ellie are all in Lala’s bed, while Hui’Jin is in mine. Why do we even have separate rooms at this point? Just cover a big room in cushions and blankets.

I guess I lost track of time, they can get their supplies in the morning.
