Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband -
Chapter 81
Chapter 81: Chapter 81
Cindy clenched her fist. She didn’t even try to hide her hostility anymore.
She was willing to act nice and sweet in front of Sebastian, but not for this bitch.
Winter didn’t take her seriously. She smiled at Cindy and said, "Do your job well, okay? You’re an intern here, so if you do well, I might give you a job... as a janitor."
Cindy almost couldn’t hold herself. But she lowered her head before she acted rashly, and waited until Winter entered the CEO’s office.
Meanwhile, Iris looked at her with disgust, "You truly are an ungrateful woman, Cindy. She’s been good to you, and you repay her with hostility. If I were her, I’d have kicked you out immediately."
"I’d have kicked you out first, you hag," Cindy cursed under her breath.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing. Let’s just get this over with. I want to have lunch," Cindy said as she returned to her cheery and polite self. "I still have so much to learn from you, Iris."

Winter entered the office without knocking and saw Sebastian sitting on the sofa, eating restaurant food that he told Iris to buy.
He looked up when the door was opened, and his face brightened instantly, "Are you here to bring me lunch?"
"Lunch? Why would I? Besides, you’re eating one right now," Winter asked out of confusion.
"Ah, well, I thought it’d be better if you cooked me lunch instead..." Sebastian sighed and continued eating his lunch. "I’m going to have a meeting at two. So if you want to attend, then we can go together."
"I don’t want to. It’s already pretty tiring today," Winter said. "Besides, I’m here to give you some good news."
Sebastian raised his brow. He put his plate on the table, drank a glass of water, and asked, "What is it?"
"Do you remember Lucien LeBlanc, the hotelier that I talked about yesterday?"
Sebastian nodded.
"Well, I’ve secured our meeting with him. We will meet him in a charity auction event here, in New York," Winter informed. "Since you’re going to meet with Lucien LeBlanc, I expect you to conduct yourself, and also to show that you’re a capable CEO of Goldmine Realty. If things went smoothly, Lucien might contract the company to build his resort."
Sebastian’s smile faltered a little.
He was glad that Winter could easily book a meeting with a businessman as important as Lucien LeBlanc. But at the same time, he was nervous because he didn’t know if the company was in a good enough condition to get Lucien to even consider it.
In his previous life, it was only after he got a huge agreement with the government that Lucien would finally sign a contract with Goldmine Realty.
Before that, Lucien never even spared him a glance.
He was unsure of what would happen next and it made him anxious.
But he kept his smile as he faced Winter, "That’s great. I’ll be well prepared to converse with him. I’m sure that we can work together in the end."
"Mhm, I expect a good outcome from you, Sebastian Saenz," Winter said, which only pressured him further.
Sebastian gulped, "I wonder what would happen if I fail."
"Fail? Hah!" Winter scoffed. "Don’t talk stupid. We both know that you’re not going to fail."
"What if I do? Will you kick me out of the company? I’ve done my best so far, and will always do my best. But that doesn’t mean I will never find any stumbling blocks in front of me," Sebastian said. He hated to show any sign of weakness or doubt in front of Winter.
However, he was in a disadvantaged position right now.
Winter only kept him around because he was the best man to work as the CEO of this company, so he dedicated his time, energy, and everything he had to make sure that the company was running smoothly while trying to pick momentum.
He knew it wouldn’t be difficult for Winter to kick him out of this company, especially after she found another man who was more capable than Sebastian.
Thus, he couldn’t hide his anxiety when faced with the fear of getting kicked out by his wife.
"Can I at least get your assurance that you won’t fire me if I fail to get a contract with Lucien LeBlanc for the event? I’ll find another way to get this company to a new height. I just need time."
Winter stared at Sebastian for a while, hoping that Sebastian would return to his usual cold and confident self.
Sebastian whom she knew wouldn’t show weakness, even in front of her. Whenever she asked if he was feeling stressed or exhausted (based on the obvious signs he showed), he would say no and tell Winter not to ask stupid questions.
So it felt strange to see Sebastian looking so insecure and nervous.
Not that she hated it though.
Sebastian from her previous life was so cold and nonchalant. Sometimes, Winter wondered if she had married a robot who never ate with her, and never showed exhaustion or stress. He was dependable, but it made their marriage life as dry as it could be.
Meanwhile, the Sebastian in front of her, while being as competent as the old Sebastian, also showed a hint of normal human emotions, such as anxiety, joy, anger, and jealousy.
Winter was contemplating whether she should say something to assure Sebastian that everything would be just fine as long as he worked his hardest.
She still disliked him, obviously. She couldn’t wait to get separated from him.
But this company was in a dire state. She couldn’t just fire him when he already showed the fruit of his hard work as a CEO.
So, it’d be unlikely for her to fire him anytime soon.
’Maybe I should give him some encouragement. The pressure must’ve been intense. I can’t imagine what that bastard Sebastian went through. Oh, wait, why would I think about that monster? He’s the one who broke me,’ Winter thought. ’But I feel stupid and disgusting if I have to give Sebastian encouragement because I’ve vowed to hate him until my last breath.’
