Chapter 70: Chapter 70

But his heart told him to say at least the one truth; he truly loved her and saw her as his one and only woman.

"I’ve never cheated on you, Winter."

"Because we’ve only been married for less than a week. You don’t have the chance just yet, or maybe you still think it’s a little unethical to cheat right now? Well, don’t worry. Suit yourself and find a woman you fancy," Winter said, smiling at Sebastian before the elevator door opened.

Winter walked out of the elevator to the penthouse, followed by Sebastian, who clenched his fist, frustrated that Winter kept accusing him of things he didn’t do. Though most of her accusations were justified, given how much of an asshole he was to her back then.

Winter unlocked the door and breezed through the foyer, living room, and kitchen. She drank a glass of water and then turned to face Sebastian, who was still in a terrible mood.

She sighed, grabbed a bottle of soda from the fridge, and tossed it to him. "Relax, Sebastian Saenz. If you keep staring at me like I’m some kind of criminal, then I’ll just ignore you until you stop."

Winter’s threat was proven to be effective.

Sebastian closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm down. He looked at the soda in his hand, decided to put it back, and grabbed a bottle of wine from the wine cellars instead. This was his way of calming down and gathering the courage to face his beloved.

Winter glanced at Sebastian, who was drinking wine instead of the soda she gave him, and commented, "Don’t drink too much. I don’t want you to slur your speech while we talk. The least you can do is not to make it more difficult for me to listen to your ramble."

Sebastian nodded, obediently putting the wine bottle on the table after taking two big gulps.

He let the wine burn his throat before he gathered enough courage to say what he had in mind, "What did that bastard say about me? Did he tell you that I’ll cheat?"

"Oh, don’t be so crass. You know I don’t need him to tell me that," Winter chuckled. "You will sleep with another woman sooner or later. Besides, that’s not what he said."

"Then what did he say?" Sebastian asked. He looked dead serious, and Winter’s answer would determine his next step. Whether he had to kick that bastard out of her life or not.

Winter grinned, leaning on the kitchen counter. She casually replied, "He told me that you’ll abuse me. So he insists on taking the storage room just so he can live with us and protect me all the time."

"Bullshit!" Sebastian growled. "That man wants you, and he is trying to get into your pants!"

"Well, what he said makes sense, though. Have you seen yourself in the mirror right now? You look scary. So it’s not his fault that he’d assume that," Winter said. "Besides, what are you angry about? I thought you didn’t love me. Shouldn’t it be fine if I have another man with me?"

Sebastian slammed the table.

He walked towards his wife with steps that almost felt like stomps. He stood before her, and she looked up, still with a grin that made her look lovable and mischievous.

Yet, for Sebastian, this was a very serious matter.

Sebastian traced her jaw with his finger and then pinched her chin, making sure she kept her head up so they could maintain eye contact.

He guessed he must look terrible right now, and his emotion must be pouring out of his eyes.

They said that eyes were the window to the soul, so he wondered if Winter could read what was in his heart right now.

Because he was hurt.

He was angry, hurt, and filled with unreasonable thoughts. He wanted to lock this woman away to ensure she wouldn’t dare to cheat on him.

Sebastian found his brain to be wired wrongly right now because he was terrified by his thoughts.

He had never been a jealous man. If any of his exes cheated on him (and one of them did), he would just let her go and move on. He was too busy to care about a woman who wasn’t worth it.

Yet, for Winter...

He might actually go insane if he saw her kissing another man.

Meanwhile, Winter found his reaction quite amusing.

She liked to taunt Sebastian as it was part of her revenge. She enjoyed seeing him get jealous, even though Winter would never cheat because of her beliefs.

Winter wanted Sebastian to know how she felt when she saw the picture of Sebastian with another woman.

Her heart burned with fury back then, and she spent her night crying over her crumbling marriage.

In the end, that small picture crushed her self-confidence. She began to nitpick every small thing that was wrong with her body.

She shed her excess weight, even though she was already thin, and lost confidence in her face.

She had lived her whole life being told how beautiful she was.

But the moment Sebastian cheated on her, all she saw was an ugly, old woman whose husband didn’t even want her anymore.

"It’s not a joke, Winter Saenz," Sebastian said. His tone was cold, and the smile on Winter’s face quickly disappeared after she realized the seriousness in his tone.

"I never said it’s a joke," Winter said, doubling down. "I told him, the moment you lay your hands on me, I will be in his care."

"Then you will be mine forever because I will never hurt my own wife, nor will I ever cheat," Sebastian slowly leaned down and gave Winter a soft kiss on her lips. He smiled at Winter after the kiss, satisfied with the taste of her lips. "We’re stuck together until death do us part... No, even death cannot do us part. Mark my words."
