Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband -
Chapter 107
Chapter 107: Chapter 107
Winter shot a gaze at Sebastian, surprised that he would say that in front of his mother.
Winter knew Camilla’s personality well since she endured that old witch’s abuse for years. Camilla was the type of person who would explode whenever her needs weren’t met or whenever someone dared to go against her.
She was a control freak on top of being a narcissist.
Winter saw that Sebastian was unwavering, despite Camilla looking at him as if he were a piece of roadkill at the side of the road. He still maintained his calm and continued his conversation with Lucien.
"Admittedly, I also have a bias for Winter. I will never come to the Goldmine Realty if it’s not Winter who asked me to," Lucien said lightly, checking on Camilla’s reaction and also Winter’s.
He grinned after noticing the rage in Camilla’s face. It was good enough for him because that meant the only wall that separated him and Winter was this man—Sebastian Saenz.
Camilla had a crooked smile on her face as she scoffed and said, "Then, does that mean Mr. LeBlanc has a certain feeling for my daughter-in-law? If so, please reconsider, Sir. She is not a woman of wisdom, I’m sure a hotelier magnate of your caliber could do better."
"Mom!" Sebastian raised his voice. He was already pissed enough seeing his mom in the office during a crucial meeting, now it’s even worse that she dares to insult Winter in front of the important client.
"What? I’m sure Mr. Lucien LeBlanc here understands what I’m saying," Camilla said harshly. She knew she acted out of rage because her son dared to go against her. If they were in a more private situation, she would’ve slapped Sebastian for being so dumb!
"Does that mean your son is also stupid for marrying Winter, Madam?" Lucien chuckled. "Pardon my impoliteness. I want to clarify that I do have feelings for Winter, and it is quite well-known. If you think that your son is making a stupid mistake, then kindly let him leave Winter, I will always be there for her after all."
"T-that—"
Camilla was speechless, and Lucien ignored her as he turned his head towards Winter. "I have to leave now, Winter. Don’t forget to call me if something happens to you. I’ll see you in the next meeting, or if you plan to invite me for dinner, perhaps."
"Not happening," Sebastian interrupted. He grabbed Winter’s hand, making sure that Lucien knew his boundary.
Lucien shrugged, "I think it’ll happen, eventually. Especially with your mother’s blatant dislike for Winter."
Lucien then bid them goodbye and left the meeting room with his secretary following him closely.
His smile slowly dissipated as he entered the elevator, and his secretary couldn’t help to ask, "Sir, is it really necessary to say those words with our contractor? This is a big project, what if Sebastian Saenz did something in the middle to ruin it."
"I do not like Sebastian Saenz. But... I know he loves Winter as much as I do. So he won’t sabotage this project because he wants to impress Winter," Lucien replied.
As much as he hated admitting it, he could see the love in Sebastian’s eyes whenever he stared at Winter, so he could rest assured that Winter would at least be safe for now.
"We are rivals, but I understand him, as a fellow man who’s in love," Lucien said.

Meanwhile, there was a stalemate between Camilla, Sebastian, and Winter.
Winter had been keeping her mouth shut the whole time. She was observing Camilla and Sebastian, so she could plan a counterattack in case these two decided to go against her and kicked her out of the company.
She doubted it would happen anytime soon, especially with how fiercely they glared at each other.
"Why are you here, Mom? This place is off limits, and you almost blew the whole deal with Lucien LeBlanc with your stupid remark about my wife!"
"Stupid? You called me—your only mother—as stupid?!" Camilla raised her voice as well. She couldn’t believe Sebastian, the son she raised with discipline and tough love since birth, would dare to go against her.
"Yes, you’re so fucking dumb. Why would you say that to Lucien?!"
Camilla had nothing to defend against that because she also knew she acted out of annoyance and anger, something that she rarely did.
Thus, she began to shift the blame towards Sebastian, and also Winter.
"You’ve changed, son," Camilla said. "I’ve never expected you to suddenly argue with me, after all the things I’ve done for you."
Sebastian’s anger began to die down when he saw his mother’s tears.
Of course, he wasn’t stupid. Sebastian knew it was just fake tears used to fish for sympathy from him. He had been manipulated by those fake tears since he was a toddler.
He remembered his mother would always cry after beating him mercilessly. Sometimes, she would slap him so hard and kick his little body for a small mistake, and once Sebastian stopped talking to her, she would start crying and blame Sebastian for not talking anymore.
He was conditioned to surrender seeing those fake tears.
But Winter wasn’t having any of it. She found it stupid that Sebastian would fall for Camilla’s tears when they were obviously in the right against Camilla.
She interrupted Camilla’s crying session and said, "I can’t believe you’re weak to this, Sebastian. Will you also falter if I’m the one crying?" Winter scoffed as she remembered how cold Sebastian was in her previous life. "I doubt you would."
"I—" Sebastian wanted to defend himself, but he realized that Winter was right. He got weakened by his mother’s fake tears. There was no defending that. The only thing he could say was, "I promise I won’t do it anymore."
Sebastian toughened his heart as he shifted his gaze back at Camilla. Then, he sternly reprimanded her, "Stop crying, Mom. You should go home. Winter and I have so much to do today."
