Lust in Ecstasy: Love, Lies and Revenge -
Chapter 34: Bad things Lurking.
Chapter 34: Bad things Lurking.
A few minutes passed as we lay side by side, my eyes closed, trying to catch my breath. I felt Abby shift beside me, and when I opened my eyes, she was sitting at the edge of the bed, facing away.
"Is this the part where you ask me what we just did or tell me you didn’t know what you were doing?" I muttered, my voice laced with amusement.
She glanced back at me but didn’t respond immediately. Instead, she crawled back onto the bed, pressed a soft kiss to my lips, then casually tossed her panties onto my face.
"You might wanna hold onto that," she teased, adjusting her dress. "I’ll be back for it."
I pulled the fabric off my face, inhaling its scent before setting it aside. "We won’t get many chances like this, you know."
Abby smirked, placing her hands on her hips. "That’s not a problem, we can always make one." She headed for the door, then paused. "I’ll see you downstairs. And... thank you for this. I needed it."
"Uh... you’re welcome?" I replied, still processing her words as she disappeared down the hall.
---
I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, my mind racing with how quickly everything was changing. I’d just had sex for the second time today, with a different woman. Something that, until now, had only ever existed in my daydreams and fantasies. And then there was the whole plan with Eric.
"Is this it? Is this how my life changes for the better? Can it really be this easy? There has to be a catch... surely."
All my life, I knew that whenever a series of good things happened to me, something bad was always lurking around the corner. It was just a matter of time.
"What’s it going to be this time?" I wondered.
"Maybe you’ll get caught having sex with Esther or Abby?" my conscience chimed in.
Caught by who, though? Joyce? She wouldn’t dare—she had her own skeletons, cheating on my uncle like it was a sport. Faith? I couldn’t care less what she thought about me anymore.
So, no one’s catching me. Right?
"What if the whole thing with Eric goes sideways?" my mind whispered, planting a seed of doubt.
It’s not going to. I know this because it’s Eric, he’s always ten steps ahead. If we ever find ourselves in trouble, I’m sure he already has a plan to get us out of it.
At least... I hope he does.
Since I couldn’t figure out what bad thing was lurking around the corner, I might as well enjoy the good times while they lasted. No point in overthinking it now.
With that thought, I closed my eyes and let sleep take over.
---
9:30pm
I was still half-asleep, my mind caught between reality and a dream.
A strange memory played in my head or was it a dream? Joyce was in my room, searching for something, but somehow, she ended up next to me. Her lips found mine, and her hands slipping into my shorts, teasing me.
Then, suddenly, the scene shifted. My uncle was in my room, standing over me, his voice calm as he said, "Merry Christmas," before setting down the presents he got for me on my desk.
The contrast was jarring. My eyes fluttered open, heart pounding.
What the hell kind of dream was that?
I sat on the edge of my bed, rubbing my eyes as I tried to make sense of what just happened. Pushing off the lingering sleep, I got up and made my way to the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face. The shock of it helped clear my head.
Grabbing a towel, I dried my face and walked back into the room only to stop in my tracks.
There, sitting on my desk, was a bag filled with presents. My eyes widened as I approached, checking the tags. They were from my uncle.
"What?" I muttered, a small smile forming. So, he was back after all. Joyce did mention he’d return today—
I froze mid-step.
"Wait a minute... Joyce was here too."
A strange unease settled in my chest. My hand instinctively went into my shorts, searching for any proof that what I had dreamed—no, what I had felt—wasn’t just in my head.
"Joyce was here too..."
The thought sent a chill down my spine. Was it really just a dream, or had she actually been in my room?
I turned slowly, chuckling nervously as I scanned the room. Everything seemed normal. The presents were real that much I was sure of.
I shook my head, running a hand through my hair. Maybe I was just overthinking it. Maybe it really was just a weird dream. I mean come on it’s Joyce, she wouldn’t stoop so low to do something like that.
But then, why did it feel so damn real?
I was still lost in thought when the sound of laughter drifted up from downstairs. I recognized Abby, Esther, and Uncle Daniel’s voices—but there were more than just three people.
"Is Faith back?" I wondered, sinking back onto the bed.
I already knew the answer to my next question. What would she do when she saw me? Probably act like I didn’t exist.
"Yeah, she’ll ignore you completely," my mind confirmed.
I exhaled, running a hand through my hair. I knew it was true, but some stubborn part of me refused to accept it.
There was only one way to find out.
Pushing myself off the bed, I put on a fresh T-shirt and ran a hand over my face one last time before heading downstairs.
As I stepped into the living room, all eyes turned toward me. Abby and Esther were lounging on the couch, my uncle sat in his favorite chair, and across from them... Faith.
Our eyes met for a split second before she looked away, her expression unreadable.
"Yep. Called it."
Still, I forced a relaxed smile and greeted everyone, pretending I didn’t notice the tension in the air.
