Loving The Temperamental Adonis -
Chapter 261: A new addition
Chapter 261: A new addition
Mia stared at her husband as he stood there, his presence dominating the room. Neil wore a gray suit that hugged his muscular frame perfectly, the fabric clinging to his broad shoulders and tapering down his lean torso.
His tie hung loosely around his neck, untied, adding a touch of ruggedness to his otherwise polished look. His suntanned skin glistened under the light, giving him a healthy, vibrant appearance. She could still vividly recall how he’d looked three years ago when she woke up from her coma—he had appeared gaunt and haunted, almost unrecognizable. But now, he had recovered completely, looking even more handsome than before, with a strength and vitality that made her heart skip a beat like a highschool girl in love.
She saw Neil’s eyes darken with love as they trailed over her body, taking in every detail of her appearance. She flushed under his intense gaze, feeling her cheeks warm up. Glancing down, she saw their sons looking from her to their father with matching frowns. Though everyone said the boys resembled her and had their father’s eyes, she thought they looked more like Neil.
Neil smiled in satisfaction at the sight of his angelic wife. He had always known she was a beauty and had often imagined her in a wedding dress, but nothing could have prepared him for how breathtaking she looked at this moment.
She seemed not a day older than she had been years ago when he first met her on the university rooftop. The gown emphasized her body in all the right ways, making her look like an elegant doll in white.
Just by looking at her, he could feel himself getting excited. Ever since she’d fully recovered, they never failed to make love, but he could never have enough of her. With each passing day, his love grew stronger, and his passion for her never waned.
Perhaps it was because they had been separated for a day, but as he looked at her now, he could already picture himself undressing her tonight and making love to her like never before. The thought of her warm body entangled with his brought desire swelling through his veins and caused him to swallow hard.
As he took in Mia’s appearance and felt relieved to know she was all right, imagining what their honeymoon would be like, he was suddenly smacked on the back of his neck with a shoe. Before he could react, his grandma hit him again with another shoe, causing his sons, who were wondering why their parents were staring at each other so weirdly, to laugh out loud.
"Ouch, abuela! What was that for?" Neil complained, rubbing his neck as he finally looked away from his wife to his grandma holding another shoe to hit him with.
"¡Ni hablar, nieto! You have ruined the family tradition by seeing your wife now," his grandma scolded in Spanish and English, glaring up at him in disapproval of his behavior.
Neil smiled and tapped his grandma’s head to soothe her anger. She was so short he could see the middle of her head. "Lo siento, abuela," he apologized in Spanish. Then, in English, he added, "I couldn’t help it. I wanted to confirm something with my wife. And if all of you would please excuse us, I really need a few minutes alone with her before the time of the wedding." He gave her a pleading look when she was about to refuse him head straight.
Though his grandma looked displeased with disapproval written all over her face, she hit him on the backside one last time, making all the women in the room burst out laughing, including Mia. She then signaled for the women to excuse them. Before stepping out, she turned to warn Neil, "Do not ruin Mia’s look, and you only have five minutes to talk to her about whatever you couldn’t wait to say until the altar."
Neil nodded obediently and said, "No te preocupes," in Spanish. When the door closed behind him, leaving him alone with Mia and their sons, he strode towards her and pulled her into his embrace, being extra careful not to step on her gown or ruin anything like his grandma had warned. Though he was a grown man, his grandma wouldn’t hesitate to beat his ass in public despite his aloofness.
"I’ve missed you," he whispered in her ear, and Mia melted into his embrace, feeling the warmth and strength of his love surrounding her.
She whispered, "I missed you too," as she hugged him back, feeling his muscles relax as if he had been tense the whole time. As they embraced, their two sons stood before them.
"Mom, you haven’t hugged us too. We missed you as well. Dad took us to an old cabin with no TV and no phones. It was so boring!" Nolan complained, trying to squeeze himself between his parents to get a hug from his mom. Neil, however, pulled the back of Nolan’s suit jacket and held him away, tightening his hold around Mia.
"This woman is my wife and only mine to hug. Wait your turn," Neil said playfully.
The boys scoffed in unison. "She’s our mother! Go find your own mom and leave ours alone!" They tried to push into the hug, but Neil refused to let go and hugged his wife tightly to cover the space between them.
Mia laughed, trying to push away from Neil’s hug. "Stop bullying your children, Neil."
Neil pursed his lips in displeasure. "How about you tell them to stop trying to come between us?" he complained, recalling all the nights their children would randomly walk into their room, interrupting their love making and insisting on sleeping with them. He would refuse, but Mia would always make room for them on the bed while pushing him aside. Sometimes, his boys would dominate the bed and he’d end up being thrown to the floor in his own bed.
The boys insisted, "We also want a hug!"
Mia laughed at her three favorite males glaring at each other, each vying for a hug. As she bent down to hug her children, she suddenly felt nauseous and clapped a hand over her mouth, hurrying to the restroom attached to the dressing room. Neil and the boys followed closely behind her, concern etched on their faces.
"Are you okay?" they asked simultaneously as she bent over the sink. Mia managed to nod, though her children kept asking if she was sick while they tried to peek at her face through the mirror.
Neil seemed to understand and froze in place. Their eyes locked through the mirror as he slowly looked down at her stomach, then back to her face. He blinked once and then twice before approaching her. Turning her to face him, he placed a hand against her flat stomach and asked, "Is it what I think it is?"
Mia nodded, "I just found out yesterday."
Neil’s eyes widened. "Oh my God, we’re having another baby?" She nodded again, and for a moment, Neil was speechless, his expression going blank. Mia feared he might not be happy with the news, but then he pulled her into his embrace again.
"That’s wonderful!" he exclaimed. How could he not be happy when he wanted to have a big family with his wife?
Though he still had the fear of what happened last time with the twins’ pregnancy repeating itself, he knew nothing like that would happen again now that he’d gotten rid of all the threats. Kelvin Rodrigo and Owen Sullivan were dead, while Mariana Rodrigo was as good as dead in her sickbed. She had tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of a moving vehicle but was rescued and brought to the hospital, only to end up paralyzed from the waist down and unable to talk again.
They had nothing to worry about, and now that they were surrounded by family, he didn’t see why they should stop having more children. He was so happy he covered Mia’s face with feathery kisses while thanking her for the gift she’d given him.
The boys, who had been listening intently, exchanged excited looks. "We’re have a sibling?"
Mia pushed away from Neil’s embrace and glanced down at her boys, stroking each of their plump cheeks. "What do you think about having a baby sister to look after?"
Their gray eyes brightened simultaneously. "A baby sister?" they echoed, their voices filled with excitement and wonder.
Neil knelt down to their level, his eyes gleaming with joy. "Yes, you’ll have a baby sister. Isn’t that amazing?"
The boys nodded eagerly, their initial frowns replaced by wide, joyful grins. "That’s so cool! We’ll take care of her and teach her how to play basketball!" Nolan declared, while Noah chimed in, "We’ll be the best big brothers ever, mom!"
Mia’s heart swelled with happiness as she watched her family share this moment of pure joy. She reached out and pulled her boys into a warm embrace, and Neil wrapped his arms around all three of them, holding them close. The room was filled with their laughter and excitement, the anticipation of a new addition to their family bringing them even more closer together.
In that moment, surrounded by her loving husband and their excited sons, Mia felt an overwhelming sense of contentment and love. They were ready to welcome this new Chapter in their lives, and she knew they would face it together, as a family this time.
