Chapter 195: The Redania Empire (3) Continuing The Journey

The morning sun cast a warm glow over the village as Lyan and the former slaves bid farewell to the villagers who had offered them shelter. Aisha, one of the villagers, stood at the edge of the crowd, her eyes fixed on Lyan. As the group prepared to depart, Aisha stepped forward and pressed a small pouch into Lyan’s hand.

"I want you to take this with you," she said, her voice soft but insistent.

Lyan raised an eyebrow, studying the pouch intently. "What’s this for?" he asked, his voice curious.

"It’s a charm. My mother used to make them for me when I was a child. She said it would bring good luck and protect me from harm. I want you to have it, for luck and protection. I really hope that you could meet her and father before you leave, but it can’t be helped since they don’t seem to be returning very soon," Aisha said, her voice soft and sincere.

Lyan nodded, tucking the pouch into his pocket. "Thank you. I’ll keep it safe,"

Aisha smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "Take care of yourself, and the others. And come back soon," she said.

Lyan nodded, his expression serious. "We will," he promised.

Lyan’s words which are filled with determination and sincerity filled Aisha’s chest with warmth and reassurance. As he turned to leave, a small wolf pup appeared from the gap in Aisha’s collar, barking and looking up at Lyan as if saying goodbye.

"Goodbye, Ravena. Take care of your mother," Lyan said, patting the pup gently before making his way back to the wagon.

"Goodbye..." Aisha uttered under her breath as she holds the part above her crotch. She could still feel the warmth from the big quantity of seeds that her beloved gave her all night.

After Lyan’s conversation with Wilhelmina and the former slaves finished, he secretly left his room and went to Aisha’s house, which she welcomed in great spirits. That night, the both of them loved each other as if there is no tomorrow. With Lyan’s huge thing that doesn’t seem to be losing its liveliness, Aisha’s cave got filled up with his seed that gushed out in an unbelievable quantity in every round for a lot of times.

She strongly hopes that the seed won’t spill out of her cave, and as if responding to her wish, the love tattoo on her crotch shone, and as if there is a plug, not a single drop of it spilled out of her, making her could still feel the seed inside.

"I wonder if it’s going to be a son or a daughter. Fufufu!" Aisha uttered to herself as she giggled because of her imagination.

As the group set out on their journey, Lyan felt the weight of Aisha’s charm in his pocket, a reminder of the village and the people he had left behind. He was grateful for the gesture, knowing that it would bring him comfort and strength on the road ahead.

**********************************

The morning sun cast a warm glow over the group as they set out from the village. Lyan sat at the front of the wagon, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, while Tesha, the halfling child he had saved, sat beside him. She was clutching a small wooden carving that Lyan had given her as a gift, and her gaze was fixed on him with an intense stare.

"What do you want to ask, Tesha?" Lyan asked, sensing her hesitation.

"At that time..." Tesha trailed off, her voice uncertain.

Lyan waited patiently, but when she finally spoke, her words were not what he had expected.

"At that time before you entered the wagon, did you just touch that woman’s boobs?" Tesha asked cynically.

Lyan was taken aback. He had not anticipated such a question from the young girl.

"Huh?" he uttered in confusion. But then he remembered the incident she was referring to. When he had patted Ravena’s head goodbye, it may have appeared from Tesha’s perspective that he was touching her inappropriately.

"Of course not. I was patting a dog cub’s head," Lyan replied nonchalantly.

(Well, even if I told her that, she won’t believe me, huh) (Lyan)

"A dog cub’s head? Hm~" Tesha mused, not entirely convinced.

"Well, the both of you look awfully close to each other in such a short moment. I thought you’ve reached that point," Tesha remarked, her words not at all suitable for her age.

Behind them, Wilhelmina, and Solia that are sitting together with the children of former slaves. At a first glance the both of them look like they are patting and holding the hands of the children as they are about to sleep, but actually, they are listening intently to the conversation between Tesha and Lyan.

The formation of their journey is Lyan at the first wagon together with Tesha, Wilhelmina, Solia, and the rest of the children, while the rest of Wilhelmina’s group is inside the other two wagons. After the trade with the village, Lyan also made a deal and bought two additional wagons for Wilhelmina’s group. Lyan told them that it was fine to let the skeletons to be the coachman, but they insisted that they would drive the wagon on their own. The skeletons that had been escorting them since they left the village were walking alongside the wagons, their bony fingers gripping their weapons tightly.

’They are already way beyond that point, Tesha!’ Wilhelmina thought inside her mind. After her conversation with Lyan together with the others, she wanted to have a personal conversation with Lyan, but she saw him leaving the guest house again and went to Aisha’s house.

(I’m so ashamed of what I’m doing... Aren’t I just a pervert?) (Wilhelmina)

Rather than returning, she got curious, and once again, she infiltrated the place and peeked on their deed until morning which is the reason why she’s still sleepy.

Lyan couldn’t help but chuckle at her frankness. "As if we would get so close in such a short duration," he replied with a shrug.

(Liar!!) (Wilhelmina)

As they journeyed along the road, the group chatted and exchanged stories. Lyan was impressed with the resilience and determination of the former slaves when they were still slaves, who had endured so much and yet still had hope for a better future. There had been not much opportunity for Solia to converse with Lyan, so she ended up getting too excited and told lots of stories about when they were still slaves together with Wilhelmina, while Tesha listened intently, her eyes wide with wonder.

(Maybe she could relate with them because of her experience as a slave, huh...) (Lyan)

Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted. The air grew colder, and a sense of unease settled over the group. Lyan looked around, scanning the trees for any signs of danger.

"Something’s coming," he said, his voice low and urgent.

Wilhelmina and Solia nodded, their hands already on their weapons. The former slaves looked nervous, but they stood ready to fight.

As the group watched, a pack of monsters emerged from the trees. They were tall and gaunt, with razor-sharp claws and teeth as sharp as daggers, but more importantly, their body that is covered by an armor of ice. Lyan recognized them as the ice wolves of the north, creatures that were known for their viciousness and savagery.

Without hesitation, Wilhelmina and Solia leaped into action. Wilhelmina wielded her sword with deadly skills, killing the first wave of wolves that approached. Solia, meanwhile, leaped to the top of the wagon and skillfully use her bows and aimed at deadly precision. The army of skeletons had already gone to the front lines and made a protective sphere.

The former slaves, too, fought bravely, using the weapons that they’d bought at the village to fend off the wolves. Lyan watched in amazement as they worked together, their movements coordinated and fluid.

As for Lyan, he joined the fray with his massive glaive. He swung it with all his might, cleaving through the wolves with ease.

The battle was intense, but the group fought with a fierce determination. Despite the wolves’ ferocity, they were no match for the teamwork and skill of Lyan and his companions.

When the last of the wolves had fallen, the group paused to catch their breath. Lyan turned to Wilhelmina and Solia, his eyes shining with admiration.

"That was incredible," he said, his voice filled with awe. "Your teamwork was amazing. That was unexpected,"

Wilhelmina and Solia grinned, looking pleased with themselves. The former slaves beamed with pride at the compliment.

"Of course. At that time, we got into that situation just because we were in a complete disadvantageous condition, after all. But with full preparation like this, I believe that we’re strong enough to get lots of jobs as mercenaries," (Solia)
