Chapter 355: Chapter 345: Big Fish

Inside the oak house, screams filled with intense fear rose and fell.

At the same time, there were thuds one after another, as two human figures were thrown against the door and walls.

Combat?

No, more precisely, it was a one-sided bullying.

The bullied were none other than the exorcist couple, Edel and Erin, whom we saw earlier.

The two had indeed learned some true mystical knowledge, and the artifacts they had prepared, such as Holy Water and blessed Crosses, were enough to cause harm to some Resentful Souls and Ghosts.

But the prerequisite is that the Resentful Souls they faced were not powerful.

Or that their numbers were few.

Rather than the current situation, where it was two against dozens.

Indeed, after Erin used some Transcendent method to force them all out, the originally cozy old house suddenly turned into a hellish scene, with dozens of men, women, and children of all ages appearing out of thin air in every corner of the room with terrifying faces.

In a second, the sudden transformation nearly drove Roger’s family mad.

At the same time, it also left Lily, who wanted to “see a ghost” so bad, completely frozen in place.

The Coleman couple didn’t fare much better, because as soon as the dozens of evil Ghost Resentful Souls were forced to show themselves, they immediately entered a rage mode.

They turned into a tide of ghostly wind, instantly dissolving the Colemans’ methods.

The couple was tossed around by the Evil Spirits like rubber balls.

Other than spitting blood and urging Lily and Roger’s family to flee, there was nothing they could do.

Unfortunately, with a “bang,” the door was closed tightly, and even as Roger Albert mustered his courage to try desperately to open the door, he couldn’t turn the lock the slightest bit.

“Stupid Roger, why would you invite such useless exorcists, you’ve brought the game to an end prematurely.”

“It’s such a pity, we were not done playing.”

“Time is so short, to kill them all in just a few days after moving in will delay the arrival of the next victim for a long time.”

“Yeah, after all, it’s rare to see people as foolish as Roger’s family.”

While the Evil Spirits were toying with the Coleman couple, they also did not forget to torment the spirits of the others.

Accompanied by two more thuds, the battered Coleman couple were thrown from the ceiling, landing right in front of a dazed Lily.

The next moment, she let out the sharpest and most terrifying scream of her life.

“Ahhh~”

“Boom!”

Without warning, along with Lily’s scream.

Two streaks of light, one black and one white, burst forth from within Lily.

They unfurled slowly like two wings of different colors, not feathered wings but as if made of countless light Points like fish eggs stuck together, forming bands of light, each covering one side of Lily’s body.

When these two forces erupted, all the Evil Spirits present as if sensing their doom, began to howl wildly.

The Coleman couple, struggling to raise themselves, looked at their daughter with a gaze filled with horror; her petite body undergoing an incredible transformation, fine, luminously glowing fuzz began to grow rampantly, still in black and white.

In an instant, Lily would transform into a “Monster.”

At the same time, every other person in the room touched by the Light Point began to exhibit the same changes, with fine fuzz that emitted both a fragrance and a foul odor growing incessantly. In a trance, it seemed they were all about to become some kind of “Moth.”

This included the Coleman couple too.

The strange changes reminded them of long-past memories, those unspeakably horrific scenes.

They were initially entangled in a real, horrifying, mysterious event involving two creatures from the Exotic Realm whose power was unimaginable. Had it not been for the intervention of the Bright Church at the last moment, the city would have likely seen the deaths of over a hundred thousand people.

The Church and the couple both thought that the two creatures had perished together.

But now, the Colemans both understood that they were wrong.

The two monsters might have died, but they appeared in their daughter’s body in another form.

Both of them wanted to do something, but helplessly, they were severely injured.

Even getting up was incredibly difficult, let alone stopping the changes occurring within their daughter’s body.

And those evil spirits, the sound waves formed by their painful howls, also possessed terrifying lethality. Had it not been for everyone present, including the couple, being tainted with the Light Point and starting to transform into monsters, they would all have turned into dead bodies by now.

As they watched the situation shift towards the “unknowable,” suddenly, an incredibly terrifying resentful aura burst forth from beneath the oak house with a bang.

“Boom!”

“Bang bang bang”

The entire oak house seemed to be violently pulled apart by a tremendous force, as it was abruptly split in two.

Beneath the torn-apart villa, a “nest” appeared, massive and constructed entirely of thick, interwoven tree roots, containing unknown numbers of bones. Fresh human skin was hung out to dry, steaming intestines were scattered about, and the floor was carpeted with a dense layer of hair, as if it were a rug.

Upon witnessing this scene, not only the Colemans, but Roger’s family and even those evil spirits,

were simultaneously struck with terror.

The violent mental fluctuations even momentarily reversed their transformation into some kind of “Mothman” creatures.

And then, they all saw the nest’s master.

From the human skin, intestines, hair, or bones, an intense resentful aura overflowed and congealed into a massive Resentful Soul, several meters tall, which began to take on a more solid form, as real flesh and blood materialized on an utterly grotesque body.

And a head without any facial features except for a mouth that could slowly split open to reveal a mouthful of sharp teeth.

It was in a furious state, as its nest and its “collection” of tree roots were simultaneously ablaze.

Furthermore, the fire was of a sort that it could not extinguish at all.

The malice that emanated from within it shaped into a black fog which began to spread wildly.

Within the fog, an unintelligible, mind-numbing muttering echoed, that prompted one to flee but paradoxically rendered them completely unable to move an inch, as if even their souls were fixed in place, immovable.

The evil spirits, in that instant, came to understand.

Why?

Why, after they died, were they confined within this old house?

The source was this malice within the black fog; they were seemingly kept as a sort of “pet,” raised by this creature—whether it be a Resentful Soul or an Exotic Realm Monster—for amusement.

“Roar~”

The furious monster abruptly let out a roar towards the back of the torn-open oak house.

But it seemed to be cautious and did not immediately attack.

Instead, it suddenly turned its head and faced all the evil spirits, opening that eerie mouth like a bloom of flesh. At the moment the “petals” unfurled, an overwhelming force of suction emerged, and all the evil spirits were involuntarily swept into it like a gust of wind.

During the process, these fierce spirits could not resist at all.

They were not only pets but also food.

After it devoured all the evil spirits, it then turned its attention to the living. But at that moment, the sound of footsteps suddenly arrived.

A figure appeared, slowly walking out from the oak forest.

With a stature like a high school student, carrying a leather case, their gaze fell straight onto the monster.

“I seem to have accidentally reeled in a big fish!”

Tang Qi said with a hint of excitement in his tone.
