Chapter 332: Chapter 327: Doomsday Sect
As a Demon Hunter on the verge of entering the Professional Level, combined with his Demon Bloodline, once Jason calmed down, the aura he emanated could even make Tang Qi sense a dangerous vibe. Along with his status as a senior member alongside Rafael, the agent-cum-driver had no authority to resist.
Following Jason’s command, he drove the black sedan swiftly through the traffic, taking over the emergency lane with a special pass, forcefully made it through the checkpoint, and rapidly entered the Secret Phoenix City area.
The moment they crossed Secret Phoenix Bridge, the trio immediately realized that the riot was even more severe than they had imagined.
All that met the eye was thick smoke billowing. The mist they had seen from far away was actually, to a large extent, the black smoke released by buildings set ablaze, and every street they passed was riddled with brawls and shootings.
Those caught up in the riot were of all Species and skin colors, some driven by pure desire for destruction, some possibly with legitimate demands, and others just trying to protect their loved ones.
Messer City’s style had already approached a frigid darkness.
But at this moment, the impression Secret Phoenix City left on Tang Qi was even more chaotic.
The thick smoke mingling with the dusk turned the whole city nearly invisible, and the light spewing from the constanly destroyed lampposts illuminated terrifying scenes, with wails and cries echoing in each corner of the city.
For Tang Qi, experiencing Secret Phoenix City for the first time, the surprise was immense.
For Jason and Rafael, the “masters” of the city, their expressions were exceptionally dark.
No one in the car was a fool.
Anyone could see that such a “riot” could indeed occur in a city so decrepit that it seemed beyond salvation.
Despite its fading presence, Secret Phoenix City was in fact on the verge of yet another rise.
Due to historical issues, the city had to face the reality of its decline, but with the emergence of a new leader, Secret Phoenix City was breathing with new life again, something Jason and Rafael from Ancient Castle Bureau understood best.
Because that “new leader” was also the founder of the Ancient Castle Bureau.
Jason’s acknowledgement of a seemingly goofy yet incredibly proud person speaks volumes of the ability of this new leader.
Regardless of whether Secret Phoenix City is about to welcome a period of resurgence,
the currently spreading “riot” was enough to cause a severe blow.
Such is the case for the leaders of Secret Phoenix City, and just as much for the local residents.
Could there be no conspiracy involved in this?
In Messer City’s Blank District, robberies and murders happened every night, even giving rise to the grotesque industry called “Corpse Collection Vehicles”.
Yet even then, Messer City had never experienced a riot.
Secret Phoenix City, as the main base for both Ancient Castle Bureau and the Secret Phoenix Branch of the Bright Church, naturally could not turn into something like Messer City. Even so, the current riot was enough to account for the grim faces of Jason and Rafael.
“Stop them!”
As Tang Qi was contemplating, suddenly Jason commanded coldly.
Following his gaze, they saw hundreds of youths, mainly of Saha Continent descent, intermixed with other ethnic groups, including Caucasians, all with frenzied expressions. Some were holding placards, while others simply carried stones and clubs…
Their apparent destination seemed to be the Main City.
The agent driver unconsciously obeyed, the black sedan spun around at the corner of the street, blocking the path of hundreds of people.
A figure in the lead, with agility beyond that of an average human, managed to avoid a potential collision ahead of time.
This scene made Jason’s expression grow even darker.
A Transcendent?
Such blatant “evidence” was placed right before their eyes.
This was a tall and well-built black youth, with a purple scorpion tattoo on his face, looking fierce without an ounce of affinity. Strangely enough, the words coming out of his mouth had an enchanting power that ordinary people couldn’t resist.
For example, at this moment, the youth who was nearly hit pointed directly at the four people in the car, yelling at his followers: “These people are all shameless undercover cops, drag them out, they want to stop us from expressing our demands.”
“Kill them!”
“Cut off their ears, smash their teeth!”
“Damn cops, damn lapdogs of the rich.”
…
“Not a bad slogan!”
Tang Qi got out of the car with Jason and Rafael, and the scene that met his eyes became even more real.
The chaos on the streets, the thick, choking smoke, the wailing and crying, and the few hundred folks in front of him, ready to pounce – any ordinary person would’ve been scared stiff by now.
But what a pity, even that special agent was no ordinary human.
And the angry Jason did not give these people a chance to act.
The moment he got out of the car, he transformed into a phantom and then, like a heavy tank, charged into the midst of the hundreds, followed by the grating sound of breaking bones – soon these rioters had no choice but to let out wails just like the innocent civilians.
Their salvation came from the person leading them, attempting to flee.
Unfortunately, the moment he moved, his hands lashed out and then violently pulled back – amidst the “snap” sound, the black youth screamed in agony.
His slight Extraordinary Power was clearly not enough to give him the capital to fight against the powerful Demon Hunter.
Just when Jason was about to torture him with cruel methods, Tang Qi suddenly spoke up.
“Let me do it!”
“Huff”
His gaze suddenly focused on the black youth.
The expected ghost light did not appear.
Tang Qi’s expression changed, quickly shifting his gaze to the youth’s neck, where a strange symbol was faintly visible, an outline done in Black Ink, a circle, a pitch-dark, blurry, and incredibly abstract figure, behind it, four different symbols, they were disintegrating…
“Boom”
The ghost light, without any warning, started to flow out.
“Curios: Doomsday Rune, a special Rune drawn with Fallen Blood, it possesses some Extraordinary Power, like enhancing the strength and speed of the one engraved, as well as the enchanting ability of speech and actions, but it also causes the spirit of the engraved one to suffer unknown Pollution.”
“Hmm?”
The Information Fragment that passed through his eyes instantly changed Tang Qi’s expression.
“Doomsday Sect?”
As Tang Qi uttered these four words, both Jason and Rafael’s expressions also shifted, anger and gravity intertwined.
Just as the three of them simultaneously recalled some information about the Doomsday Sect, the black youth whose arms Jason had broken, his face suddenly turned a violent red, his eyes bulged out, veins popping up, as if he had entered some frenzied State.
Ignoring the Pain, he roared, “It’s useless, you won’t stop us, we will spread the gospel here, those stupid, cowardly cops can’t stop the riot of tens of thousands. Do you think it’s only the Main City? No, every major district will be filled with Fear…”
“Not good, find out all the activation points.”
“Red!”
Before Jason could react and exhort, Tang Qi had already appeared in front of the youth. Through those bulging eyes, Tang Qi immediately dragged his soul into that extreme world tangled with red and gold Light Flames.
Compared to the Illusion Spell, Red was obviously more suitable for interrogation.
