Chapter 308: Chapter 306: Figurehead (Second Update!)

Unlike “Judgement,” Red is a special space.

Here, souls can be contained.

As the Releaser, Tang Qi is like a Divine being here. With a mere thought or even a modification of some conceptual laws, this is an excellent form of oppressive witchcraft. As long as the opponent’s spiritual power is inferior to Tang Qi’s, once they are dragged here, their end can be foreseen.

Just like the initial Night Beast, with the reputation of being a Shadow Beast but was ruthlessly tricked by Tang Qi taking advantage of several opportunities, and had no choice but to board his ship of thieves.

However, this time is different.

Finding a Transcendent with greater spiritual power than Tang Qi is indeed not easy, but it is obvious that Esmeralda, the leader of the Merada Witch Group, who has traveled the Origin Blue Star for many years, possesses far greater spiritual power than Tang Qi.

But Tang Qi still did it, because the information he wanted to confirm was safest by this method.

At the same time, Tang Qi also had a “backup” plan.

Upon entering the Red Space, Tang Qi immediately connected to the “Projection Program” of the Master of the Crucible.

Three golden suns!

They were flickering, burning.

Gold and red interwove, as Esmeralda reopened her eyes in this world.

Almost instantly, she perceived that she was in a very special space, one where victory seemed to be determined by the amount of spiritual power.

In this aspect, the witch deity was extremely confident.

She believed that even in the entire Secret Phoenix State, it would be very hard to find a being stronger in spiritual power than herself, even if the strong among the Immortal Council and the Seven Ancestor Descendants were all counted.

Just as Esmeralda was beginning to relax, there was a sudden “boom” in her perception.

A sense of danger that made her heart tremble locked her in completely.

Tang Qi’s figure appeared before the Witch Leader.

He had no intention of making small talk or engaging in any unnecessary dialogue; Tang Qi just looked straight at Esmeralda and then asked her a question.

Slowly, word for word, he asked:

“Ma’am, are you willing to kill your Ancestor?”

“Boom”

Esmeralda, as if hearing something she couldn’t believe, became instantly stunned.

And before her, the aura emanating from Tang Qi became increasingly dangerous.

Outside the bounds of Red and the Caravan, in a side street where the Tree Grandma Bookstore in Winston Town is located.

Dozens of witches from the Merada Group, along with the Tree Demon, and Sally, were both concerned about the conversation between Tang Qi and the leader, and were looking towards Winston Town that was sliding towards hell.

They were situated atop a giant tree, with no need to worry about the encroaching crimson floodwaters.

But the townsfolk and the travelers who came for the “Pirate Carnival” weren’t so lucky.

The waters flooding the town were thick with malicious intent, and also some unknown form of Pollution. At least tens of thousands of people in the town sank into unstoppable revelry due to this Pollution.

Tens of thousands of people were about to drown.

Hidden within the dark fog, the descendants of the twelve patriarchs, the Immortal Council, and the Seven Ancestor Alliance, although not exactly the Evil Camp, were clearly also not the Justice Camp. They concealed themselves in the dark fog to combat the sea of blood and showed no signs of caring for the tens of thousands of residents.

However, Sally, along with the witches of the Merada Group, all had looks of unbearable grief on their faces.

Just as they exchanged glances, ready to take action.

A familiar voice suddenly rang out.

“Wait a bit longer!”

“Whoosh”

With the sound, the Witch Leader’s lavish Caravan burst through the twisted light, rushing down from the sky.

Tang Qi and Esmeralda both appeared in the air simultaneously.

First to look over were Sally and the array of witches and the Tree Demon.

Tang Qi was still Tang Qi, unchanged from before he entered the Caravan, only the sliver of doubt in his eyes completely dissipated.

As for Esmeralda, her expression at that moment made the witches turn their “angry” gazes towards Tang Qi.

The fiercest among them was undoubtedly the Tree Demon Granny.

But they couldn’t be blamed, as the always gentle and mysterious Esmeralda was now displaying a face of “deep distress,” as if she had suffered some major blow, radiating an intense sense of defeat.

In the eyes of a fan, these were evident signs.

Their “idol” had been bullied, and the only suspect was Tang Qi.

Although they were also well aware that in terms of combat power, Tang Qi’s “small frame” was simply not capable of bullying the Witch Leader.

Fortunately, Esmeralda seemed to come to her senses at this time, switching back instantly to leader mode.

“I’m fine, Sally’s Guardian has already told me the method to remove the curse.”

“Tonight, it will all end!”

Her voice carried a sort of indescribable significance. She felt the shocking piece of knowledge that had been added to her mind—precisely speaking, it was a curse, an immensely powerful curse.

Just as the witches were dumbfounded by the leader’s words.

Sally, the “Daughter of Destiny,” stood beside Tang Qi, nervously observing the ongoing disaster in the town.

The crimson, viscous waters had submerged many people’s necks, and in a few breaths, Winston Town would see corpse after corpse floating or another form of life in a different State.

Tang Qi sensed Sally’s tension and immediately comforted her: “Winston Town is not alone, the officials and the Church will not stand by and watch a disaster of this magnitude happen.”

Following Tang Qi’s gaze, Sally saw what lay atop the bloody expanse.

Indeed, there were two more “islands.”

They were Winston Theatre and Winston Public Hall, which was serving as a temporary church.

Both buildings were completely covered in different hues of light.

Neither the blood-like seawater nor the strange black fog could penetrate them.

As if to confirm Tang Qi’s judgment, at the very next moment, just as tens of thousands of residents were about to be drowned by the sea, a low shout suddenly erupted.

The source was right above Winston Theatre.

Two figures appeared within everyone’s field of vision.

At the forefront was Jason, the near-Professional Level Demon Hunter, and behind him stood the human detective known as Rafael.

Jason was holding a “Tilos Magic Bag” in his hand, looking angrily ahead while rummaging through the bag.

Quickly, a Sheepskin Scroll appeared in his hand.

The edges were adorned with complex and ancient patterns, and the center was a blank space.

As Tang Qi’s gaze swept over, ghost light surged forth immediately.

“Curios: Qiye Canvas (Blank), the Tilos Demon Clan, in addition to possessing great power, also pursued various forms of art with zeal, one of them even infiltrated human society, becoming a great artist celebrated by all. This is its blank canvas, which possesses some magical functions…”

As the image was generated, Jason was holding the blank “Qiye Canvas” and began chanting spells in a low voice, seeming to be an array of unknown, tongue-twisting languages. As the last syllable left Jason’s mouth, the Sheepskin Scroll turned into a globule of emerald-colored light that fell downwards.

“Boom!”

When the green light enveloped the entirety of Winston Town and then swiftly dissipated, not a single living person could be found in the vast Winston Town.

Hum!

The Sheepskin Scroll reappeared in front of Jason.

The blank area of the scroll began to twinkle with fine light.

With each flicker, another human figure appeared on the canvas.

When the light faded, it had turned into an abstract oil painting, with no trace of blank space left, filled with overlapping festive figures.

Clearly, this was the function of the “Qiye Canvas.”

It swept all the residents and travelers of Winston Town into the painting.

However, it seemed that was all it could do.

The Qiye Canvas was not an impeccable Curios; it had its flaws.

Jason seemed unable to retract it into the Magic Bag, nor to take it away from Winston Town, nor even to place it on his person.

He could only let it float above Winston Town, allowing the residents to look down upon their homeland in a special way.

A homeland that was about to become a “horrific battlefield.”

This phrase, at a speed never seen before, became a cruel reality.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

As if the canvas’s rescue of tens of thousands of inhabitants had triggered it, the once engulfed Winston Town’s blood-red expanse suddenly exploded at this moment.

The scarlet seawater surged, forming wave after wave, and then quickly evolved into tsunamis, crashing against the eerie black fog time and time again, with their clashes growing ever more fierce.

At the same time, in the depths of the expanse, the vortex underwent dramatic changes.

Lights interweaving red and black poured out frenziedly from deep within the vortex, the already huge whirlpool expanded even faster, and sounds like the roar of monsters or the howling of sea winds surged from the other end of the vortex.

Then, with a thunderous noise, the phantom-like Earl Castle was suddenly smashed into pieces by a tremendous dark shadow.

There it was!

A massive being that Tang Qi felt both familiar and foreign with a small part of it descended from another space onto Origin Blue Star, onto this Winston Town.

That dark shadow, as though it could crush the very heavens.

It was, strikingly, an enormous and extremely hard statue.

It depicted a Monster.

Wearing red armor, surrounded by black fog, with a bone-white skull whose eye sockets flickered with an indescribable light, holding a scythe, with bats circling overhead… Descendants of the Thirteen Ancestors seemed to find some familiar aspects in it.

But what was different was that it seemed to be the Source of it all.

Figurehead!

Anyone well-versed in pirate lore would recognize it, a figurehead statue.

As the frontmost part of a fearsome warship, it passed through the black void vortex first, and appeared before everyone.

Descendants of the Twelve Ancestors, Witch Group, Jason and Rafael, Church congregation… A series of astonished gazes fell upon the figurehead that seemed to crush everything upon its appearance.

Tang Qi’s gaze also settled there.

An intensely strong ghost light surged violently forth.

In his eyes, a special image formed.

“Curios: Figurehead (Unknown Evil God Image), a figurehead of terrifying might, it was mounted on an invincible warship, the ship’s name is…”

“Immortal!”

Memories revived simultaneously in the minds of both Tang Qi and Sally.

And at the same time, they uttered a name.
