After racking his brain, a thought suddenly came to Feng Zhexuan. The next moment, his eyes lit up, and a smile appeared on his face.

Yan Yuling was busy checking her husband’s assets and didn’t notice his expression at all.

While they were both deep in thought, Yan Yuling suddenly felt a pain in her stomach and frowned. She had been feeling contractions for a few days. Due to her pregnancy, she had read a lot of books to prepare herself. So, she knew that contractions before labor became more frequent.

Since the pain disappeared after a moment, she didn’t think much of it until she noticed some stains on her underwear when she used the toilet. Remembering the symptoms of labor, she began to feel a pang of panic.

When she came out of the bathroom, she saw her husband waiting at the door.

Feng Zhexuan noticed his wife’s frown and asked, "Wife, do you feel uncomfortable? I noticed you have been going to the toilet more often today."

After she sat on the bed, she looked at her husband and said, "Husband, I think I’m going into labor in one or two days."

As soon as he heard this, Feng Zhexuan’s eyes widened, and he asked, "Wife, do you feel contractions?"

Yan Yuling nodded and replied, "I have been feeling contractions since yesterday. But, they come and go randomly, so I didn’t pay much attention to it. Just now, I saw stains on my underwear, and the contractions have become more frequent."

Hearing this, Feng Zhexuan squeezed his wife’s hand and said, "I will inform the doctor. Don’t worry, I’m here."

Feeling reassured by her husband’s words, Yan Yuling nodded and leaned back on the pillow.

Feng Zhexuan quickly went to get the doctor and returned in less than fifteen minutes. Since the hospital placed great importance on Yan Yuling and her unborn baby, they assigned a team to care for her.

When the doctor arrived, she asked a few questions before saying, "Madam is indeed showing signs of labor. However, it is still too early. We have to wait."

"Doctor, how long will it take for my wife to enter labor?" Feng Zhexuan asked.

"It depends. Some people take only a few hours to be ready, while others take 24 to 48 hours."

Feng Zhexuan nodded and added, "I understand."

Seeing their nervousness, the doctor smiled and reassured them, "President Feng, Madam, please rest assured. Our hospital has the best OB/GYN doctors in Haicheng. What’s more, both Madam and the baby are healthy. There will be no problem during the delivery."

After hearing the doctor’s words, Yan Yuling felt her anxiety lessen. Although she still felt some fear, she trusted the doctor’s skills, and her heart slowly calmed.

Feng Zhexuan escorted the doctor to the door and returned to his wife. He sat beside the bed and asked, "Wife, do you want to drink some soup or eat something?"

Feeling a little hungry, she nodded and said, "Husband, I want dumplings. I also want avocado juice with chocolate sauce."

"Okay, I will ask the chef to prepare it," Feng Zhexuan agreed readily.

While waiting for the food, Yan Yuling fell asleep. Seeing that his wife was sleeping, Feng Zhexuan went to finish his work. He had taken a long leave to accompany his wife during her pregnancy, and most of the company’s matters were handled from home. Unless there were important meetings, he never left his wife’s side.

Without them noticing, another day passed.

Before dawn, Yan Yuling woke from her slumber due to a contraction. Unlike the previous ones, this pain was several times more intense. She held her stomach and let out a grunt, "Uhhh..."

The moment she whimpered, Feng Zhexuan opened his eyes and stood up from the small bed beside her. He quickly walked over, held her hand, and asked, "Wife, what’s wrong?"

Yan Yuling was in so much pain that her face turned pale, and her body was soaked in cold sweat. She didn’t have the energy to reply to her husband.

Seeing her condition, Feng Zhexuan quickly pressed the red button on the bedside and said tremblingly, "Wife, you will be okay. You will be okay—"

His eyes turned red, and tears threatened to fall. Watching his wife’s suffering, he felt a surge of guilt. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have to endure this pain.

"Wife, I’m sorry. It’s because of me that you are suffering," he said suddenly.

As the pain subsided, Yan Yuling gasped for breath. When she saw her husband crying, she forced a smile and said, "Husband, why are you crying? This isn’t your fault. I want this baby, it’s my choice. It has nothing to do with you."

Feng Zhexuan knew she was trying to comfort him, but he couldn’t shake his guilt. Pressing his forehead to her hand, he said, "Wife, if you are in pain, just bite, scold, or hit me. I want to share your pain. I will be right here with you."

Hearing this, Yan Yuling asked doubtfully, "Will you be alright watching me deliver our baby?"

"I will be alright," he nodded without hesitation.

Not long after, the door opened, and a group of doctors and nurses entered the ward. After an inspection, the doctor said, "Madam is currently in the established labor stage. We still need to wait for the cervix to fully dilate. Madam can walk around slowly to help with the baby’s positioning."

"Doctor, how long will it take for my wife to fully dilate?" Feng Zhexuan asked.

"Since this is Madam’s first pregnancy, it might take 8 to 18 hours. I will check on her more often during this period."

Before leaving, the doctor added, "If possible, try to eat something so you will have enough energy during labor."

"Alright," Yan Yuling nodded.

After the doctor left, Feng Zhexuan took care of everything for his wife. As her birth partner, he helped her move around, massaged her legs, shoulders, and back, fed her water and food, wiped her body, and practiced breathing techniques with her during contractions.
