Xiao Wu took out a tissue from the dashboard and used it to cover the wound. She hissed at the sting and said, "Madam, please stay calm while I contact security."

Nodding at her words Yan Yuling watched as Xiao Wu called the university’s security guards.

Meanwhile, reporters pounded on the car windows, shouting questions and snapping photos like a swarm of zombies. Some even pulled at the door handles, trying to open the door forcefully, desperate for an exclusive scoop.

Looking at their ferocious faces, Yan Yuling felt scared in her heart. But thinking of Xiao Wu’s words, she took a deep breath and sent a message to her husband.

At Feng Group’s headquarters, Feng Zhexuan was reviewing documents when his phone buzzed. Seeing a message from his wife, he smiled, expecting a sweet note. But as he read the message, his expression darkened with worry.

[ Husband, I’m trapped in the school’s parking lot. There are too many reporters surrounding me right now. I might be late coming home. I’m safe in the car with Xiao Wu, but she is injured. We have called security and are waiting for them to arrive. ]

After he read the message, Feng Zhexuan immediately called his wife.

Yan Yuling picked up on the first ring, and said, "Hello, Husband."

Feng Zhexuan’s grip on the phone tightened at the sound of her trembling voice. He tried to sound as calm as usual when he said, "Wife, don’t be scared. I will come to you right now."

Hearing his reassuring tone, Yan Yuling felt a wave of relief and replied, "Okay. Don’t worry about me. I’m safe inside the car."

"Stay there and follow Xiao Wu’s instructions. I will handle the rest," he said firmly.

"Okay."

After ending the call, Feng Zhexuan grabbed his suit jacket and briefcase and strode out of his office. In the hallway, he crossed paths with his assistant, Wei Zheming.

Seeing his friend’s gloomy expressions, he asked, "Boss, the meeting is about to start. Where are you going?"

"My wife is trapped by a mob of reporters," Feng Zhexuan replied grimly and added, "Cancel all my appointments for today."

Wei Zheming’s expression flickered when he heard this and said with a frown, "I will come with you."

Feng Zhexuan didn’t object since he was not only his assistant but also his bodyguard, "Let’s go."

While they were on their way to the university, the security team finally arrived at the parking lot.

Although they were trained, their numbers were far fewer than the reporters’. Therefore, even after ten minutes, they were still unable to clear the area.

After another twenty minutes of waiting, several police cars arrived and parked at the entrance of the lot. A group of officers quickly stepped out and approached the reporters.

Seeing the police, the reporters stopped harassing the security team and moved away from the car. Realizing the situation was unfavorable to them, some reporters tried to sneak away, only to be blocked by the police.

"No one is allowed to leave," an officer announced loudly.

"What right do you have to detain us? We haven’t done anything wrong!" a female reporter protested indignantly.

"You have injured someone. So, you must come with us to the police station," the officer replied calmly.

The reporter frowned at his words and said, "It wasn’t me, so I can leave."

"No one leaves until our investigation is complete," the officer reiterated.

Frustrated by the police’s stubbornness, the reporter pointed at him and snapped, "You better have evidence, or I will sue you for defamation!"

Before the officer could respond, a black Maserati sped into the parking lot, screeching to a halt just a meter away from the crowd. The sound of the brakes pierced the air, leaving reporters and the cameraman pale with shock.

Some stumbled and fell to the ground as they stared at the car in horror. Though they wanted to curse, their words caught in their throats when they met Wei Zheming’s icy gaze.

Wei Zheming stepped out of the driver’s seat, his movements sharp and precise. Without sparing a glance at the crowd, he opened the back door without a word.

Feng Zhexuan steps out of the car with a frown. His sharp eyes scan the scene before locking onto the police.

He strode toward his wife’s car while saying with a cold and commanding tone, "I want all of them charged for harming my wife and her bodyguard."

The reporters erupted in protests, but their actions were caught on CCTV, leaving little room for excuses.

Within fifteen minutes, the police had rounded them up and taken them to the station. Meanwhile, Wei Zheming contacted He Liming to handle the legal procedures.

Once the parking lot was cleared, Feng Zhexuan opened his wife’s car door. Squatting down, he took her cold hands in his and said gently, "Wife, I’m sorry for being late. Are you alright?"

Yan Yuling had been composed while waiting with Xiao Wu, but the sight of her husband brought a wave of emotion to her heart.

Her eyes reddened as she whispered aggrievedly, "Husband, why are you coming so late? I was so scared."

Feng Zhexuan’s heart ached at her words. He pulled her into his arms and murmured, "It’s my fault. I won’t let the same thing happen again. Let’s go home."

Yan Yuling leaned into his embrace and nodded, "Okay."

After kissing her cheek, Feng Zhexuan carried his wife to his car. Turning to Wei Zheming, he instructed, "Zheming, I will drive my wife home. Take Xiao Wu to the hospital immediately."

Wei Zheming nodded and said, "Understood. I have already informed Lawyer He. He will handle the legal processes."

"Good. I don’t want to settle this matter quietly. Take every legal action necessary and ensure their companies pay a steep price. They dared to harm my wife—they must face the consequences," Feng Zhexuan said through gritted teeth.

"Understood," Wei Zheming replied.

Once Feng Zhexuan drove off, Wei Zheming turned his attention to Xiao Wu.
