Feigning ignorance, Xiao replied with a smile, "CEO Lin, since this matter involved the Lin Group, I only do what I should do. No need to make it personal."

"All right, let’s return to the main issue. CEO Lin, you need to take responsibility for Lin Group’s share price decline. If you don’t explain yourself today, we won’t let this go," one shareholder said with a deep frown.

Chairman Lin, sensing the shareholders’ frustration, spoke up for his son, "Everyone, please grant us another month. If we secure the Cyber Vision project, we can turn this situation around."

"But didn’t Feng Group already secure that project? How can Lin Group compete?" another shareholder asked.

"I have a connection with Mr. Alex. I heard that besides the project with the Feng Group, they have two more projects on hand. If I can get on his good side, I’m confident we will secure another Cyber Vision project," Yan Liguang replied with a hint of pride.

Chairman Lin looked surprised when he learned about this connection and said, "Chairman Yan, I didn’t realize you knew Mr. Alex personally."

Yan Liguang waved his hand casually and said, "We are friends, but I never wanted to leverage that. Given the current situation, I’m making an exception."

The shareholders nodded, visibly excited by the unexpected surprise. They began applauding and praising Yan Liguang’s efforts.

Seated nearby, Xiao Chengqiu watched them with an amused glint in his eye as he observed the shareholders’ excitement.

Since they had heard what they wanted, the meeting was adjourned. As Xiao Chengqiu walked to the door, Lin Hao blocked his way and said, "Xiao Chengqiu, I will make you regret humiliating me today."

"CEO Lin, do you have a liking for being cuckolded by your wife?" Xiao Chengqiu asked with a curious expression.

The moment he heard this, Lin Hao raised his hand to punch him. But before he could strike, his wrist was grabbed, and in the next moment, he was pushed against the wall with his arm locked behind his back.

Startled by the sudden turn of events, Lin Hao shouted angrily, "Xiao Chengqiu, you bastard! Let me go!"

"Lin Hao, if you don’t enjoy that kind of humiliation, why are you angry at me? Shouldn’t you be angry at your wife who is giving you a green hat? I’m helping you, yet you hate me. Where is the logic in that?" Xiao Chengqiu asked while sighing.

"Why couldn’t you tell me privately? Why did you have to say it in front of so many people? Aren’t you trying to humiliate me and ruin my reputation?!" Lin Hao retorted angrily.

Hearing this, Xiao Chengqiu nodded and said, "Oh, so that’s the issue. If your father hadn’t attacked me, I wouldn’t have said it in front of everyone. If you want to blame someone, blame him for targeting the wrong person."

"Lin Hao, you should recognize your own limits. Biting off more than you can chew will only choke you in the end," he added coldly.

With that, he released Lin Hao, pushing him to the ground and leaving with a final, cold glance.

Sitting on the floor, Lin Hao was stunned by that look. For a moment, he almost thought the one standing before him was Lin Xiao. The way he looked at him was so similar to the way his brother looked at him when he was displeased with him.

When Xiao Chengqiu returned to his office, he sent his resignation letter to the HR department and made a phone call.

As soon as the call connected, he said, "Dad, I’m coming back. Mhmm, and I will be bringing my cousin with me. Yes, don’t worry about the Lin family, they are digging their own grave. Alright, just wait for my news."

After he hung up, he smiled to himself and murmured with a hint of joy in his voice, "It’s finally time to go home."

When Chairman Lin received Xiao Chengqiu’s resignation from the HR department, he approved it immediately. Since Chengqiu was no longer useful, he would simply be replaced.

The work handover took only five days. When the HR department announced it to the company, everyone was shocked. They hadn’t expected to lose another capable leader. Without Lin Xiao, it was Chengqiu who was holding the company together. With his departure, the Lin Group’s future looked bleak.

While Lin Group employees worried about their future, Xiao Chengqiu had already completed Lin Xiao’s discharge procedures. Fortunately, his cousin had long separated his household registry from the Lin family, making it easier for him to get his document to secure a visa.

He had arranged a team of top doctors in the UK to care for his cousin. With his family’s wealth and connections, his cousin would receive the best possible treatment, and he hoped Lin Xiao would awaken soon.

Two weeks later, Lin Xiao was transferred into an ambulance that took him to the airport. Due to his condition, the Xiao family had sent a medical team from the UK to care for him during the flight.

After handling all arrangements, Xiao Chengqiu boarded the private plane, looked at his cousin lying in the bedroom, and said, "Cousin, let’s go home."

At the same time, Yan Yunci was in the middle of a meeting when her phone kept vibrating. Glancing at the screen, she saw it was a call from the hospital.

Fearing something might have happened to Lin Xiao, she picked up her phone, looked at Shen Moyan, and said, "Team leader, I need to take this call."

Usually, Shen Moyan disliked his team members getting distracted during meetings. But when he saw the anxiety and worry in Yan Yunci’s eyes, he nodded and said, "Go ahead."
