Three hours later, Jian Yuan finally finished reading all the information about the last woman who might be his sister. He sat in his chair with reddened eyes, looking at the death certificate on the screen with shock and anger.

"Impossible. Xiao Mei shouldn’t be dead. I know she is still alive," he said with disbelief.

It took him a while to calm down, and he muttered to himself with a deep frown, "There must be something I missed. Jian Yuan, think! What did I miss?"

He sat with his eyes closed when he heard Jianci’s voice in his head, "Brother, have you tried to find our sister based on her health information? I’m sure that the hospital will have her records."

When Jian Yuan heard this, he opened his eyes and said, "You’re right, it’s been so many years. It’s impossible for her to have never gone to the hospital. Also, she might have changed her name or appearance."

Reaching this conclusion, he took a deep breath and started to look for his sister from scratch again. Since she was taken away by Feng Bohai, he would start with him this time.

The nurse looked at the business card and said, "Doctor Guan, it’s unfortunate, but Doctor Gu just resigned last week and no longer works at this hospital."

When he heard this, Guan Wufeng was taken aback and asked, "Can you give me Doctor Gu’s contact number?"

After hesitating for a moment, the nurse finally nodded and wrote down Gu Jianci’s phone number.

She handed it to Guan Wufeng and said, "Doctor Guan, this is Doctor Gu’s business phone number. I’m not sure if this number is still active, but this is the only number our hospital has."

Taking the piece of paper, Guan Wufeng smiled and said, "Thank you for your help."

After getting the number, he went to his car and dialed it. Not long after, he heard a mechanical voice coming from the phone, "The number you are calling is turned off or out of service. Please call again in a few minutes."

Upon hearing this, Guan Wufeng hung up and sat in the car with a frown.

Why did Gu Jianci suddenly resign and disappear? Was he planning something, or was he running away?

As he stared blankly at the sky through the small window, a police officer approached and knocked on the cell, creating a loud, crisp sound, "Feng Bohai, come out! Someone is here for you."

Hearing this, Feng Bohai raised his head and looked at the police officer without saying a word. After the cell was unlocked, the officer entered, handcuffed him, and led him out.

Ten minutes later, they arrived in a small room. The moment he entered, he saw a man in a suit sitting on the other side of the glass.

Once inside, the police officer left the room and locked the door from the outside. Feng Bohai looked at the man and walked over. He picked up the phone on the small counter and saw the man do the same.

Not long after, he heard the man’s voice coming from the phone, "Hello, Mr. Feng. I’m Lawyer Hao, and I’m here on behalf of my client to offer you a cooperation deal."

Hearing this, Feng Bohai raised his eyebrows and said, "I’m no longer the marketing director of Feng Group. What deal does your client want from me?"

"My client will bail you out of prison and help clear the charges against you. In exchange, he wants you to take your daughter, Xing Xiayan, and leave this country, never to return," Lawyer Hao said calmly.

Feng Bohai frowned at this and thought for a moment before a realization struck him. A smile appeared on his face as he figured out who the other party was.

He looked at Lawyer Hao and said, "Besides clearing my charges, I want your client to prepare 10 million dollars and a plane ticket to Thailand."

When Lawyer Hao heard this, he didn’t respond immediately to his request and said, "Please wait a moment. I will contact my client first."
