Yan Yunci nodded and said casually as if it was a matter of fact, "Yes, the chef said he will return to his hometown for a day. That’s why I asked Yuhan to come over and cook for me."

When Grandpa Yan heard this, he shook his head and said, "Letting Yuhan cook for you is a waste of his talent."

As soon as she finished speaking, Chen Yuhan walked out of the kitchen carrying two plates of food.

He looked at Grandpa Yan and said with a smile, "Grandpa, you are back. I’m almost done with the dishes. Do you want to have a meal together?"

Grandpa Yan waved his hand and said, "I have eaten. I’m tired, you two go and eat by yourself."

Yan Yunci saw her grandfather frowning and asked, "Grandpa, what happened?"

Recalling that his granddaughter was Yan Yuling’s good friend, Grandpa Yan said, "Grandpa heard that Yan Yuling was hospitalized and just woke up today. If you have time, go and see her."

Upon hearing this, Yan Yunci jumped up from the sofa and exclaimed, "What?! When was she admitted to the hospital? What happened?"

Grandpa Yan was startled by his granddaughter’s reaction. He looked at her and asked doubtfully, "Yunci, don’t you know that your friend has been in the hospital for almost half a month?"

"No, I should go to the hospital to see how she is doing," she added as she ran to the second floor.

Seeing her running in slippers, Chen Yuhan shouted anxiously, "Yunci, don’t run in slippers!"

Upon hearing his words, Yan Yunci slowed down instinctively and stopped running. Although she still walks fast, she no longer runs.

When Chen Yuhan saw this, he breathed a sigh of relief and added, "Wear thicker clothes. I will go with you."

Grandpa Yan sighed when he saw Chen Yuhan returning to the kitchen with the dishes. If the two of them could be together, he would feel at ease.

In the kitchen, Chen Yuhan took out three thermos boxes and a thermos bottle from the cabinet. He packed dinner into the boxes and poured the chicken soup he had stew into a thermos.

The soup and a portion of dinner were given to Yan Yuling, and the rest will be for himself and Yan Yunci.

According to Grandpa Yan’s words, Yan Yuling’s condition should have improved and her life is not in danger. Therefore, after Yan Yunci calms down, she will definitely feel hungry.

After Chen Yuhan finished packing the food, Yan Yunci had already changed her clothes and came down. The Lunar New Year is almost here and the weather is getting colder. So, she wrapped herself in thick clothes, a thick scarf, and a long coat.

Seeing that she was wrapped warmly, Chen Yuhan nodded satisfiedly and went to get his coat, wallet, and car keys.

He took the lunch boxes and thermos flask and said, "Grandpa, we may come back late. You don’t have to wait for us and go rest first."
