Chapter 64 - 63 Miracle Magic
Chapter 64: Chapter 63 Miracle Magic
Fire Element Secret Magic, Netherworld Fire Sea.
At that moment, even the Holy Shield was shaken, buzzing with noise, before cracking and forming several fissures.
All present were Mages, and among them were several from the Magic Temple. Yet from their expressions, it was clear they had never witnessed such powerful Fire Magic.
Or rather, they had never seen someone able to instant cast so many tremendously powerful Fire Magic spells in one breath.
Generally speaking, the more skilled a Mage, the stronger their Magic Instant Cast Ability. Even so, it was extremely rare to see someone like the Sky Mage before them, who could cast so many fireballs instantaneously.
The Netherworld Fire Sea was a type of magic that instantly ignited Magic Elements, with the power to destroy heavens and earth.
It was a hundred times more powerful than the common Fire Flame Skill, and it consumed enormously more Magic Power.
Under its influence, the Beast Blood Cloud Fierce Fire dried up, and the Wind Maggot Beast was split into several sections by the formidable power of the Fire Flame, leaving it strewn across the ground.
"That...that’s incredible," the boy mage gaped, unable to close his mouth, "Hey, I say, is he your father? Are you sure you weren’t picked up somewhere?"
The female child’s magic they had just witnessed also seemed to be the most common Earth Spur Magic. Such magic was taught to every Magic Apprentice at the Magic Temple; they had simply been caught off guard by her earlier.
But her father, turned out to be an impressive Sky Mage?
The twin Mages were unaware that Yun Sheng had only been practicing magic for a mere ten days.
Yun Canghai, suspended in mid-air, retracted his Elemental Fire Wings and turned around to see his daughter Yun Sheng, revealing a smile.
Yun Sheng’s face bore no smile; her gaze landed on the sections of the Wind Maggot Beast’s body, and she suddenly shouted, "Father, watch out!"
As her voice echoed, the dismembered carcass of the Wind Maggot Beast on the ground began to tremble and then came to life, flying up like several sharp arrows, aiming straight for Yun Canghai’s chest.
"No!" Almost without thinking, Yun Sheng instant cast a Fire Flame Burst.
"Whoosh--" A dazzling arrow shot through the air.
Almost simultaneously, a swift black shadow moved faster than the arrow.
It bit into the still-twitching, though dead, body of the Wind Maggot Beast.
From three directions, a Light Holy Arrow, the nimble Little Black, and an astonishingly powerful Fire Flame Burst converged.
"A Dual Element Mage?" The magic reaction in that instant was faster than anyone present!
The young man in white looked towards Yun Sheng, but she had already thrown herself towards Yun Canghai.
Yun Canghai’s chest had been pierced by the remains of the final attack from the Wind Maggot Beast, and blood flowed freely.
"Sheng’er, Father..." Yun Canghai said with a grim smile, feeling his life force ebbing away gradually.
"Father, don’t talk, Sheng’er will help you stop the bleeding," Yun Sheng was trembling, reaching for the Bone Needle, but her fingers shook uncontrollably, unable to grasp it steadily.
The Wind Maggot Beast’s last strike, merging its final Qi Power, had pierced through Yun Canghai’s intestines and even his heart.
There was no way, even if she could stop the bleeding, there was no way to save her father now.
Behind her was the sound of footsteps.
Tears filled Yun Sheng’s eyes, but she clenched her teeth, trying to steady her trembling hands, refusing to let the tears fall.
At that moment, the young girl’s display of strength and endurance painfully struck the young man’s eyes.
As the white-robed young man watched from the sidelines, a slight pain tugged at his heart for reasons unknown, but he was inexplicably uncomfortable, "Leave him to me."
"Lord Fate!" The twin sorcerers objected in unison.
Could it be that Lord Fate intended to use that particular spell?
Yun Sheng hesitated, and through her tearful eyes, she saw sincerity on the young man’s face; he did not appear to be deceiving her.
As a Light Element Mage, he was a Mage from the Magic Temple. Perhaps he truly had a way to heal her father.
With half-belief and half-doubt, Yun Sheng stepped aside.
At death’s door, Yun Canghai’s consciousness had already blurred, and he had even passed out before he could see the young man take out the Magic Wand.
The white-robed young man produced a Magic Wand, upon which five Demon Beast Soul Stones flickered.
A Sky Mage!
Yun Sheng’s pupils contracted; a Sky Mage who was only in his teens, such an individual had actually appeared on the Wuji Continent.
"O Light Goddess, grant me the divine power of sacred revival, heal all wounds, and have mercy on the world’s suffering," he chanted fluently, with a sound as enchanting and melodic as music.
It was as if someone was playing a hymn of praise in her ears, as a soft curtain of light descended from the sky.
The light possessed miraculous healing abilities; under its illumination, Yun Canghai’s already ravaged organs returned to their place like spilled water, the fractured organs were repaired, the decaying flesh rapidly regenerated, and even the bones grew anew. That was the true power of Light Magic.
It was entirely different from the Light Magic that Yun Sheng had seen Great Mage Yang use at the Banana Leaf Temple.
When the healing light dissipated, Yun Canghai’s chest wounds had vanished.
Yun Sheng could even see that his chest had slowly begun to rise and fall again.
However, Yun Canghai had not awakened.
Yun Sheng took Yun Canghai’s pulse and found that his heartbeat and breathing were both normal, yet he remained unconscious.
"What’s going on? My father, he...?" Yun Sheng couldn’t find any other problems with Yun Canghai’s body.
The white-robed young man was also somewhat puzzled. Traditionally, under the healing light of Light Magic, any wounds would heal. After examining him, he was taken aback; he discovered a severe poison in Yun Canghai’s body.
"Did your father have a habit of heavy drinking over the past few years? If I’m not mistaken, he has been using alcohol to suppress a certain poison within his body, but that’s merely a temporary solution, not a cure," Light Magic could rejuvenate the flesh, but it couldn’t truly repair a weakened body. Yun Canghai’s physical body now resembled an antique machine, thoroughly corroded by poison.
This kind of poison can be temporarily suppressed with alcohol. However, the use of magic under the influence of alcohol would cause the poison to spread even more rapidly.
"My father never mentioned it. What kind of poison is it? Can Light Magic not cure it?" Yun Sheng was shocked to learn the true reason behind Yun Canghai’s drinking.
"This poison is formidable because it can invade the brain. With my current power of Light Magic, I cannot heal him," Being unable to detoxify meant that Yun Canghai would remain in a coma indefinitely.
In modern medical terms, Yun Canghai would be considered to be in a vegetative state.
To the people of the Wuji Continent, someone who had been poisoned like this was basically as good as dead.
Still, the white-robed young man ultimately did not reveal this truth.
Expecting Yun Sheng to be heartbroken upon hearing the news, to his surprise, after a brief silence, she suddenly beamed a brilliant smile, "Thank you. At least my father is still alive. I believe that one day, I can find a way to cure him. My name is Yun Sheng; may I have the honor of learning yours?"
