Chapter 768: Chapter 768: Your Sword is Too Weak (Seeking Monthly Pass)

"You really came back from the Storm Sea?"

Kate looked at He Ao with a trace of doubt flickering in her eyes before she laughed, "Or should I say, what stands before me is the ’illusion’ created by some Transcendent Prop?"

"Why don’t you try and find out?" He Ao replied, tilting his head and standing in front of the cabinet with calm eyes fixed on her.

"Interesting,"

Kate scrutinized He Ao’s face closely, unable to spot any traces of ’disguise’ on the cheeks of the young man before her, nor did he show any signs of ’being caught out’ after her recent ’bluff’.

She frowned slightly, her eyes shimmering with a light golden glow,

"Well then, I’ll treat you as the Ghost who has returned from the Storm Sea. I don’t know what kind of Deceptive ’Prop’ you used to imitate the aura of the Divine Pendant, but since you’ve come here, I’ll send you back to hell."

Layers of golden armor formed in front of her, tightly encasing her entire body, followed by her loud shout, "Swinte, he is an enemy of Eternal Radiance. His parents and brothers all died at the hands of the Church—let’s take him down together!"

The man with brownish-grey hair who had been standing by her side, originally just prepared to watch, was startled. He glanced at Kate, ultimately setting his eyes on He Ao and smiled,

"Young man, although I shouldn’t interfere in your fight with Kate, since you are an enemy of Eternal Radiance, I have no choice,"

He raised his hand, and a Golden Longsword coalesced in it. Looking at He Ao, he said, "When you return to hell, you can blame your parents for why you were born into such a family, why you chose to defy the light of Eternal Radiance."

"Are you suggesting my parents were at fault?"

He Ao stared calmly at him, slowly unsheathing the Knight’s sword strapped to his back, "No, they were not wrong. Evil does not become righteousness simply because it kills the righteous. These were the words my father taught me, borrowed from my first grade school drawing textbook."

The snow-white sword blade reflected a cold brilliance in the bright light as the young man tilted his head slightly, "Gentlemen, it seems that both your education levels and those of the Church behind you aren’t very high?"

Kate and Swinte’s expressions darkened simultaneously.

Not only had they been called evil, but their education was also ridiculed.

"You’ve got quite the mouth for someone so young,"

Kate spat disdainfully and raised his hand, a Golden Longsword materializing in it, "I’ll mount your mouth as a separate exhibit, a prized part of my collection."

The next second, accompanied by a loud explosion as he dashed through the air, his figure vanished and instantly appeared in front of He Ao, lifting the Golden Longsword in his hand to slash at He Ao’s neck.

Boom—

The curved blade was blocked by He Ao’s Knight’s sword, and He Ao’s wrist trembled slightly backward.

Kate had superior individual combat strength compared to He Ao’s current physical condition.

Swiftly following, Swinte’s Golden Longsword also stabbed at him from the side.

He Ao slightly used his Fist Technique to deflect Kate’s curved blade, then parried to the side to block Swinte’s incoming Golden Longsword.

At the moment of collision between the Knight’s sword and the Golden Longsword, He Ao’s expression changed.

Swinte’s physical condition was far stronger than Kate’s, at least above seven hundred.

These two were no longer mere Church warriors who needed Golden Pendants to barely perform close to C-level—they were likely C-level themselves.

He Ao once again employed his Fist Technique to knock aside the Golden Longsword.

Their initial clash was extremely brief. Kate and Swinte stepped back, while He Ao remained unmoved, though his complexion had turned slightly pale from overexertion of his Fist Technique twice.

The wind outside briefly stirred the edge of the cabinet’s curtain before falling silent once again.

Although Yiluo started off with C-level strength, his unconventional method of advancement had led to an unstable physical condition, with the possibility of collapse at any moment.

Frequently exerting an excessive amount of strength could cause his body to completely break down.

After being forced back in the first round, Kate and Swinte exchanged glances, both realizing that the young man before them was no ordinary adversary.

"No matter what you are, today you’re going to die here."

Kate’s expression was icy as she gripped her scimitar and charged at He Ao once more.

"Compared to you, I am a human."

He Ao’s expression was calm as he held his knight’s sword horizontally, blocking the vertical slice from Kate.

Then, utilizing his fist technique enhancement, he followed the momentum to pull the knight’s sword, which instantly slid along the golden blade towards Kate’s chest.

A golden radiance instantly coalesced in front of Kate, forming a simple breastplate that blocked the horizontal strike of He Ao’s knight’s sword.

The next second, the golden armor shattered under He Ao’s swift blow.

Kate’s entire body was sent flying by the strike, crashing into the wall of the banquet hall and creating a large hole before rolling down to the hallway by the entrance.

At that moment, the man in black who had been standing at the door pulled out a pistol from behind his waist and fired several shots at He Ao with loud bangs.

He Ao raised his knight’s sword, deflecting the incoming bullets back at the shooter, then shifted his blade to block his right flank.

Bang—

The golden longsword struck He Ao’s knight’s sword and, after a brief clash, the longsword shattered with a boom.

Swinte, who had been wielding the longsword, preparing for a sneak attack, was sent flying as well.

He crashed through several dining tables, accompanied by loud clattering noises, before finally steadying himself near the wall.

Meanwhile, the black-clothed man who had opened fire was hit by the ricocheted bullets and, amid a burst of splattering blood, fell backwards at the doorway.

Swinte, watching He Ao, leaned against the wall’s edge and stood up.

The wall behind him was not a corridor, and this time as he was thrown out, he plummeted straight down from the third floor.

He stood upright, his torn clothes revealing two pendants that emitted a faint golden light at his chest. Fixing his gaze on He Ao, he realized there was a gap in ’power’ between himself and He Ao.

"Praise the Eternal Radiance!"

Without hesitation and with a cold snort, golden light poured out from the pendants on his chest, gathering in his body and instantly boosting his momentum by half.

Then he raised his hand, and a golden longsword once again materialized and landed in his grip, his movements unceasing.

With the longsword in hand, channeling all his strength, he sliced through the void toward He Ao with an overhead strike.

Feeling a slight sense of ’panic’ attempting to spread out from the depths of his heart, He Ao raised his hand with a tranquil expression, utilized his fist technique enhancement, and twirled the sword in hand to gather momentum. He then smoothly raised his hand again, holding the sword horizontally above his head to meet Swinte’s oncoming strike.

Boom!

In the moment of impact, He Ao’s feet left the ground, and the immense force of their collision travelled through his feet, shattering the platform beneath him. The entire platform broke apart instantly, buckling downward and forcing his body to sink almost into the floor below.

At the same time, Swinte, who had been swinging the longsword, was sent flying upward. His body smashed through a chandelier hanging from the ceiling and then broke through the floorboards, landing on the upper level.

He Ao, controlling his half-sunken posture, grabbed the edge of the platform and pushed off lightly, flying out of the collapsed hole to stand once again in front of the curtained cabinet.

Swinte also leapt down from the hole he had created above, holding a cracked longsword, and with a flick of his wrist, the longsword shattered and re-formed into a new one.

"The power you burst forth with, you’re overextending your body, likely not able to last much longer, right?"

Swinte, holding the golden longsword, stared at He Ao, whose face was growing paler, dusted off the cement dust on his body, and the two pendants on his chest shimmered with light, his face cold, "I will use your blood to prove that only the strong have the right to define right and wrong."

After using Fist Techniques, He Ao could temporarily enhance his physical attributes to over a thousand points, while Swinte, with the assistance of the two amulets, managed to lift his physical attributes from over seven hundred to over a thousand too, even stronger than He Ao after the Fist Technique boost.

He felt he had ’grasped’ He Ao’s strength; a child, even with tremendous power, can only accomplish so much.

Meanwhile, He Ao was calmly watching him, observing the pendants on his chest and the energy confluence hidden directly behind them in the center of his chest.

Swinte’s Talent Sequence should be ’warrior,’ which grants the ability ’panic,’ with all the rest being enhancements to physical attributes.

And these two golden pendants must be the ’trump cards’ given to Swinte by the Eternal Secret Teachings.

In He Ao’s ’Spiritual Vision,’ there were no longer other objects attached to Swinte’s body with ’transcendent power.’

He Ao lifted the knight’s sword in his hand, holding it before his chest, making a defensive starting stance.

Swinte, lifting the golden longsword, moved like a phantom shadow, charging again at He Ao.

This time, his longsword moved like a dragon, without any hesitation, thrusting diagonally at He Ao’s heart.

He Ao swung his sword in an attempt to parry the incoming longsword; the tip of the longsword slid to one side, knocking it open to the right.

After breaking through the longsword’s defense, the golden longsword was one step closer to He Ao.

At that moment, He Ao’s knight sword, deflected and spinning, built up momentum and once again swung upward, trying to deflect the longsword again.

Seeing this, Swinte didn’t pause; he had already seen He Ao use this momentum-building sword maneuver before, which wouldn’t significantly increase its power and wasn’t enough to break his golden longsword.

He Ao’s sword was better than his own focused blade, but not to such an extent; as long as he steadied himself and didn’t let He Ao sweep his sword aside, this thrust would pierce He Ao’s heart, ending the fight.

Force Shatters Mountains.

Bang—

Accompanied by a light sound, He Ao’s knight sword collided with Swinte’s longsword.

Then, to Swinte’s shock, the golden longsword shattered under the impact of the knight sword.

Swinte wanted to retreat, but it was already too late.

He Ao’s knight sword had been raised upwards; flipping the hilt, he leveled the blade and thrust forward, with his wet advance, instantly aiming for his chest.

A golden armor Phantom Shadow emerged in front of him, trying to block the sharp tip.

But almost instantly, the armor was pierced by the knight sword, and the two lightly golden glowing pendants hanging on Swinte’s chest shattered with a crash.

The immaculate knight sword pierced through the dusty remains of the shattered pendants, entering Swinte’s chest, penetrating the energy gathering point in the middle, and emerging from his back.

Blood glowing with a reddish-orange brilliance flew from Swinte’s back as He Ao, holding the knight sword, watched Swinte with calm eyes,

"Your sword is too weak."

During the battle, Swinte had been deliberately protecting his chest, so He Ao had not used the Martial Technique Force Shatters Mountains, creating the illusion that his strength was only that much.

His physical condition was not good, and if Swinte had continued to drag out the fight, it would not have been beneficial for him.

He gave Swinte the impression of a ’chance’ for a ’victory’ with just a little bit more ’risk,’ and Swinte seized this ’opportunity.’

However, even at the end, Swinte had still protected his chest; after all, with the knight sword’s position at that moment, no matter how He Ao attacked, it would have been easily blocked by his golden longsword.

He just didn’t expect He Ao to be able to shatter his longsword.

After confirming that Swinte was completely dead, He Ao raised his head and looked towards the doorway, where rows of people in black were already standing in the corridor, lifting their guns at him.

And Kate was nowhere to be found.

Swinte had not anticipated that, from the beginning of the battle, he had been betrayed by his own teammate.

"Fire!"

The leader of the men in black shouted.

Bang Bang Bang—

Violent bullets poured out like a storm.

He Ao used his sword to lift Swinte’s body, lightly swung it, and blocked the barrage of oncoming bullets.

In a very short time, the men at the door had emptied all their bullets.

Golden shell casings scattered across the floor like raindrops.

The men in black quickly took out magazines and began to reload.

It was at this moment that a pitch-black gun barrel extended from behind Winchester’s corpse.

Bang Bang Bang—

The surging flames erupted in an instant; the men in black at the corridor entrance, still in the midst of reloading, were hit by a dense flurry of bullets that pierced their bodies before they could react.

Blood splattered with the bullets, staining the corridor floor red.

The ones at the very front fell directly to the ground.

After emptying the magazine, He Ao stowed the submachine gun back into its bag and, lifting the sword, he threw Swinte’s corpse forward.

The men in black who rushed up, ready to fire their guns, were struck directly by the corpse, turning into a bloody mess that splattered onto the faces of those behind and brought them all down together.

At this moment, He Ao leaped up, performed a backflip, and jumped backwards, soaring over the cabinet behind him. In midair, he watched Kate, who was crouched behind the cabinet, clutching a curved knife, his body now fully covered in golden armor, poised and ready to strike.

Behind the cabinet, a secret door had been quietly opened.

It seemed that Kate had just tried to have Swinte stall He Ao while he circled around from behind to launch a surprise attack.

He Ao had actually noticed quite early on that Kate had disappeared.

Although Kate was very careful, and somehow made no sound at all, there were only so many places from which an attack could be launched in that hall. With the front, left, and right all within He Ao’s field of vision, that only left the rear.

However, he was just on guard for a possible sneak attack from behind and did not immediately go after Kate.

Instead, he seized the opportunity of Kate’s absence to deal with Swinte and the men in black in front.

After all, it would be a disservice not to claim the heads of the teammates that Kate had served up on a platter.

At this moment, Kate, holding the curved knife, raised his head, his eyes widening as he stared at He Ao in the sky,

"That useless Swinte!"

He spat, then without any hesitation raised his hand. Five golden pendants appeared in his hand, which he crushed in an instant,

"Great Eternal Radiance! Shine your power upon me!"
