A flash of silver sword light split the wolf-like exotic beast charging from the sky into two.

Blood splattered onto the cheeks of the people around.

"Leader."

Linda, standing beside He Ao, handed him a long black iron box.

The fresh red blood splattered on her somewhat weak and beautiful cheeks was like a rose swaying in a stormy night.

"Hmm."

He Ao sheathed his short sword and took the iron box, which contained the weapon he had specifically requested.

"Mu——"

Just as He Ao took the iron box, a huge roar penetrated his brain.

He looked up to see, beyond the open city gates in the dark curtain of rain, a hazy creature tens of meters tall with the shape of a seahorse standing erect and four legs below, slowly approaching the gates.

The creature’s roar had inexplicably caused a hint of panic in He Ao’s heart, and in the streets around him, the crowd was already in chaos due to the exotic beast entering the city, now even more so.

This must be a B-level exotic beast, its roar has some sort of panic-inducing ability.

He Ao did not recognize this B-level exotic beast.

Records about B-level exotic beasts in Ronald’s camp were scarce.

B-level, that was beyond what their camp could handle; they would steer clear whenever they sensed the presence of a powerful B-level beast.

Some B-level beasts could cause normal people to twist into madness just through direct eye contact.

The exotic beast gradually approached the city gates, its form becoming clearer and clearer.

Just then, a voice suddenly called out fiercely, "Damn thing!"

Dazzling orange luminescence streaked across the sky and landed in front of the city gates. It was a blurry figure who directly repelled the C-level beasts gathered around the city gates and knocked the inactive Noan soldiers to the ground.

Then, with one hand, he braced against the city gate that the beasts had barged open, exerted a fierce strength, muscles bulging, and held firm the mechanical gate that had been struck open, then pushed back mightily.

The gates of Fortress City were designed with a Jar City, from the wilderness into the city, one must first break through the sturdy outer gates to enter Jar City, then break through the even sturdier inner gates.

The place where He Ao and Penny had conducted inspections earlier was within Jar City.

This time, it was because Noan had let their guard down, the outer city gates were directly breached by the B-level beasts, and even the inner gates weren’t fortified and locked, only closed. There were also Noan’s own soldiers acting as traitors within, easily overrun by the massive tide of exotic beasts.

Not until the orange figure staunchly resisted the gates did the surrounding City Defense Army soldiers snap out of it, hurriedly overpowering Noan’s own soldiers, activating the mechanical locks of the inner city gates, and forcing them shut.

Noan could not control all soldiers of the Southern Army; the vast majority of soldiers in the city had parents and family here, and to protect the city was to protect their loved ones.

The figure holding the gate took a glance back at the soldiers who began to counterattack, leaped with all his might, and charged towards the B-level beast that was continuously drawing near.

These soldiers alone were not capable of holding off a B-level beast.

That figure must be the chief of the local Federal Bureau of Investigation office.

Watching the figure disappear behind the city gate, He Ao let out a slight sigh of relief.

He then looked towards Linda at his side, who was somewhat panicked by the roar, "Proceed as planned, maintain the defensive line, do not let any exotic beast break through. Rescue people if you can."

"Yes!"

Linda recovered her wits and nodded emphatically.

As she responded, He Ao had already swung himself onto the Blood Wolf Motorcycle.

"Engine on, adjust to speed mode,"

As the calm mechanical voice sounded, the front hood opened, revealing a motorcycle helmet shaped like a wolf’s head and a windbreaker within He Ao’s view.

He Ao put on the helmet and draped the windbreaker over himself, then hung the black iron box on the side of the motorcycle.

The helmet’s windscreen automatically lowered, displaying detailed speed parameters.

The helmet featured an ultra-high-performance hydrophobic layer and a total of eleven high-speed cameras front and back, ensuring clear vision while moving at high speeds even in torrential rain.

Ronald actually loved motorcycles, these two-wheeled vehicles were well-suited for the wilderness’s complex terrain.

Many accomplished Wilderness Hunters possessed excellent motorcycle skills.

A massive roar erupted suddenly, as the raindrops in front of the motorcycle shattered into a misty haze.

He Ao looked up at the sky, as the motorcycle’s radar swiftly locked onto five figures shrinking in the distance ahead.

To avoid crashing into the skyscrapers at excessive speed, the Seraphim-type Mecha didn’t accelerate to supersonic speeds but flew swiftly for a while before immediately dropping their velocity.

He Ao gripped the motorcycle’s handlebars, sweeping past the empty highway like a gust of wind.

Having knowledge of the starting point and destination of his quarry, He Ao had prepared in half the night, forming a mental map of all the nearby highways.

In the gloom of the storm, the streets were nearly deserted, leaving the road wide open for He Ao.

But even so, the constant need to make turns meant that He Ao was gradually left behind by the five Mecha in the sky.

After a sudden sharp drift and turn, He Ao looked up at the diminishing Mecha and fiercely turned the handlebar, diving into a small alley beside him.

Soon, he had zipped through the entire alleyway.

At the end of the alley, there was no road, just a dead end piled with iron boxes.

While racing forward, He Ao violently pulled up the front of the motorcycle, the massive impact force flattening the iron boxes as he crashed into them.

Simultaneously, under the action of the reaction force, the direction of the resultant force on the motorcycle changed, and He Ao swept upwards diagonally, flipping over the wall and flying straight out.

The dark motorcycle lit up with pure white lights, drawing an upward arc across the sky, landing on the rooftop of a nearby four-story building.

Standing on this rooftop, the towering buildings that had obscured He Ao’s vision all disappeared, and the five Mecha that had to navigate around these clusters of high-rise buildings were actually slower than He Ao.

Speed through the turns is true speed.

A blurry high-rise building loomed into He Ao’s view, standing solitary in the rainstorm, emanating a solemn and cold silence.

It was Dumel National Cemetery.

He Ao violently turned the motorcycle’s front, the black bike charging through the downpour, leaving a luminous arc across the sky.

It landed on a slanted steel frame.

A massive structure sprawling on the ground faintly emerged into He Ao’s field of view.

It was another iconic building in the Crown District, rising from the bottom up like a ship’s sail caught in the wind.

The ’sail’s’ lowest point was 6 meters above the ground, and the highest was 137 meters, with a steel frame forming its backbone. The ridge was overall an upward arcing line, barely passable as a road, but its widest part was less than a meter across, and the gaps between the steel tubes were much too large, making it exceptionally steep.

But this ridge was drivable.

He Ao pushed the throttle to the max, the motorcycle’s wheels blazing over the vast steel frame, charging up the metallic spine towards the sky.

On both sides were glass-embedded steel frames -- one false move, and he would slide from dozens of meters high into the sky.
