Chapter 1182: Chapter 1182: ’Chaos Grace’ (Two more Chapters for monthly pass)
Minte City·East District
"It has begun,"
Weiken lifted his head, glanced in the direction of the South and North Gates, then turned back to look at the man in the red robe, "Are all your people in position?"
"Scattered throughout the city,"
The man in the red robe maintained a gentle smile, "As soon as you give the word, we can start the operation immediately."
"Most of the time, I wish this city were more orderly, more stable,"
Weiken looked up at his surroundings and sighed softly, "After all, stability is better for business."
"What you want is order,"
The man in the red robe slightly narrowed his eyes, his lips curling with a certain smile, "Or is it the ’stability’ where only you can do as you please?"
Weiken was slightly stunned.
"There is no perfect order in this world. The moment order is established, it contains distortion. If no one tries to correct this distortion as time passes, it will fully develop."
The man in the red robe spoke with a smile, "And when order is twisted, chaos is born. In the end, all order will collapse into chaos. Such is the rule of this world."
"So, you’re trying to convert me?"
Weiken turned his head and shook it, "I have no desire to become a mass-murdering fugitive."
"The people who have died by your hand far outnumber those we’ve killed. Not being on a wanted list doesn’t mean you’re innocent,"
The man in the red robe spoke with a smile, "You’ve created one chaos after another, brought ruin to family after family, snuffed out life after life. The blood that flows from your hands could form rivers. Those who don’t hold the knife might not necessarily have clean hands. Am I right, Mr. Future Director?"
Listening to the man in the red robe’s other words, Weiken remained calm throughout, but when the man called him ’Mr. Director’, his face showed a change for the first time.
He raised an eyebrow thoughtfully and said, "You have contact with Vitland?"
"Otherwise, Mr. Weiken, how would you think we would cooperate with you so easily?"
The man in the red robe smiled, "And how do you think we entered Minte City?"
"Those ’gentlemen’ from Vitland really do understand the concept of having multiple burrows."
Hearing the reply from the man in the red robe, Weiken shook his head and sighed.
"It seems you’re not surprised?"
The man in the red robe chuckled softly.
"Anyone entering Minte City must pass through me for clearance,"
Weiken squinted his eyes, looking at the man in the red robe and smiled, "But if nobody points it out explicitly, I won’t think about it. I won’t know, right?"
"It seems your syndicate has its own way of dealing with the world,"
The man in the red robe smiled, raised his hand, and took out a rectangular box adorned with intricate mithril flame patterns, "Vitland has promised us a large amount of resources, so they wanted us to give this to you."
"What is this?"
Weiken raised an eyebrow, and instead of reaching for the box, he asked quietly.
"Something you’ll like."
The man in the red robe lifted his hand and opened the wooden box.
A silver necklace with a fiery red ruby pendant appeared in Weiken’s field of view.
Weiken gazed at the fiery red ruby, and in just a flash, he felt as if his consciousness and soul were about to be absorbed into the gemstone.
Some sort of flame-like, restless, and chaotic thoughts seeped into his Sea of Consciousness, permeating his body.
These surging thoughts were like a vague whisper, and yet, they seemed to be his own ruminations.
Create chaos, forge fear, stir up this city.
Subconsciously, he wanted to reach out and take the necklace from the box.
But just a second before touching the necklace, he summoned his last bit of willpower, reached out, and closed the wooden box.
The man in the red robe raised his head in surprise and glanced at Weiken, smiling, "Mr. Weiken truly enjoys the Favor of my lord. Your affinity with the Divine Being is much higher than mine."
"You’re plotting against me?"
Weiken’s face was cold, and he spoke hoarsely.
"This is what Vitland traded for you,"
The man in the red robe shook his head and smiled, "Otherwise, we wouldn’t have brought it out. The reaction you just had is simply because you are exceedingly compatible with the power and Authority of my lord. You are a natural-born Chaotic Believer; to be honest, I envy you."
"Thanks for your envy,"
Weiken responded coldly, still not reaching for the box but asked quietly, "Tell me, what exactly is inside this box?"
"This is the ’Chaos Favor’."
The man in the red robe smiled, "It contains the power bestowed by my lord. Only those who receive my lord’s Favor can use it. It can give an ordinary person the power close to a B-grade Transcendent."
"So, what’s the cost?"
Weiken asked quietly, "Don’t tell me that a Transcendent prop of this caliber comes without a price."
"For someone who devoutly serves the god, there indeed is no cost."
The man in the red robe smiled.
"I understand now; there’s the corruptive influence of the God of Chaos inside."
Weiken sighed, reached out, and took the wooden box, "If everything goes smoothly, I won’t need to use what’s in this box."
"Let’s hope everything goes smoothly,"
The man in the red robe bowed slightly and spoke softly, "Praise my lord."
"I still need to meet my people,"
Weiken tucked away the wooden box and spoke coldly, "Get your men ready."
"That ’bodyguard’ of yours seems to have a strong sense of ’justice’. Do you plan to bring him over to your side?"
The man in the red robe smiled.
"No."
Without any hesitation, Weiken immediately replied.
"Understood, he should be a Transcendent. I will arrange for someone to assist you."
The man in the red robe spoke gently, "The blood of the righteous is also an important material to please the God of Chaos."
Weiken glanced at him but said nothing, then turned and left.
"Are we really just giving him the ’Favor of Chaos’ like that?"
Watching Weiken’s retreating figure, a man in a black trench coat stepped out from the shadow behind the man in the red robe.
"Neither of us has a close enough affinity with our lord to unleash the full power of the ’Favor of Chaos’, so it’s better to offer it in exchange for the support of two major conglomerates,"
With an almost formulaic gentle smile, the man in the red robe continued, "I have a bad premonition that both elders may have encountered significant problems. The more critical the situation, the more we need the consortium to offer even stronger support to sustain the Sect."
Upon hearing this, the figure in the black coat fell silent for a moment, looking in the direction Weiken had vanished, "Can he use the ’Favor of Chaos’?"
"Yes."
The man in the red robe said calmly.
Then, under the surprised gaze of the figure in the black coat, he continued, "I did not deceive him. He is a natural seed of chaos; my lord is quite fond of him."
"Do you plan to draw him into the Sect?"
Coming to the realization, the figure in the black coat said, "Would a person like him follow us? He seems to believe in nothing but money."
"He has already felt the call of my lord,"
the man in the red robe began, his face carrying a sort of devout yet eerie smile, "He will gradually understand his own heart."
Then he glanced at the man in the black coat, "Follow him. He should be going to deal with that red-haired bodyguard. That strong sense of Order and justice is just sickening to sense, better to handle it sooner rather than later."
"Alright."
The man in the black coat nodded, took a step forward, and followed Weiken’s path.
Watching him leave, the man in the red robe lowered his head and spoke with devotion and gentleness,
"Praise my lord."

Yilan City · South City Defense Army Command Center
"A highly polluted ’visitor’ has arrived?"
General Corvey slightly raised his head, looking at the guard in front of him.
"According to the descriptions of the security team, he carries some kind of special pollution. Soldiers responsible for the security check, just by glancing at him, became contaminated, developing a feeling of affinity toward him."
The Guard spoke softly, "But after the pollution inspection team came out, he appeared quite cooperative, saying he wanted to see you. The soldier who conducted the security check has also been tested, and currently, there are no significant issues."
He paused before continuing, "Then there’s this, he said he wanted to see you."
"Wants to see me?"
General Corvey furrowed his brow, "Why does he want to see me?"
"He didn’t state his purpose,"
the Guard replied quickly, "He only said his name is ’Pete’ from Limen City."
"Pete?"
General Corvey sat in his chair, massaging his temples, "Why does that name sound so familiar?"
Then, as though a thought struck, he abruptly stood up, reached for a tablet beside him, and rapidly opened a file, "That Pete from Limen City? The one from Pet-Qiming Hospital? Hasn’t he been deceased for quite some time?"
"This, this, I don’t know."
The Guard looked at General Corvey, shaking his head blankly.
"No worries, where is he now?"
General Corvey rapidly walked towards the door of his office, asking as he went.
"In the contamination isolation room."
The Guard quickly followed the Elderly man’s steps.
"Any photos?"
General Corvey, one hand on the tablet, the other pulling the office door open, walked out.
"Yes."
The Guard immediately handed over another tablet.
General Corvey took the tablet, looking at the man in leather coat pictured on it. Then, he picked up his own tablet, clicked on a photo, and after a brief pause, he softly said,
"It’s the same person."
At this moment, as they reached the edge of the corridor, the Elderly man slightly raised his head.
Between the towering buildings of the city, a fiery red sun was slowly rising.
······
Inside a clean and tidy silver-enclosed room, He Ao sat on a silver metal seat with his eyes slightly closed.
Click—
At that moment, the door was slowly pushed open.
A Guard came in with a cup of coffee and set it in front of He Ao, "General Corvey will be here shortly, please wait a moment."
"Okay, thank you."
He Ao took the coffee and nodded gently.
The Guard didn’t linger, nodded in response, and exited.
He Ao looked at the coffee in his hand, gently shaking it before bringing it to his lips.
Just then, green specks of light suddenly appeared on the seat opposite him.
The lights flickered, sketching out the simple outline of a human figure in the air, and a figure shimmering with a green glow slowly took shape in front of He Ao.
