Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Dancing Girl (Please Subscribe, Favorite, and Vote for Monthly Ticket)

The White Rabbit Dance Hall is an adult dance hall, and underage guests are not allowed to enter.

There are two types of halls within the dance hall, one is purely restricted, with overly explicit performances, and the other is semi-restricted, with performances that are not quite as explicit.

Contrary to intuition, however, the age restriction for the purely restricted dance hall is over 18, while the semi-restricted dance hall is restricted to those over 21.

This is because the semi-restricted dance hall offers liquor to increase income, and federal law dictates that only adults over 21 may consume alcohol.

"Sir, would you like to go to the semi-restricted dance hall, or the restricted dance hall?"

As soon as He Ao reached the entrance, a female waiter with a graceful figure shrouded in gossamer and a beaming smile approached him.

"Check for me which hall the girl I selected yesterday is in now."

He Ao lifted his wristband and gave it a shake.

Roy had a habit, wherever he went, he would get a membership card, even if he might never come to this venue again.

With a membership card, there would be account records, and with account records, there would be ordering records.

Apart from hall dances, these kinds of dance halls normally offer a private viewing mode.

Customers can select a Dancing Girl they like, who will perform a dance solely for them in a small private room provided by the dance hall.

The price of a dance or a piece of music ranges from 30 to 80 federal coins.

Of course, nothing too explicit is allowed.

The laws of Dawn City prohibit physical transactions.

Famous dance halls like the White Rabbit Dance Hall, that cater to the whole city, are specifically monitored by prosecutors.

Of course, expecting the residents of Aston District to follow the law to the letter is somewhat quixotic.

The reason dance halls have such stringent restrictions, besides adhering to the law, is another important factor, which is profit.

The unattainable often compels customers to pay the highest price.

A dance piece for eighty federal coins, many Anksai girls standing on the street for a whole night, can barely earn two of this price.

Anksai is one of the northernmost cities in the Federation, where resources are scarce, hence many people from Anksai move south to make a living, wandering among the Federation’s cities, relying on their talents to survive.

Most Anksai girls are passionate and talented.

However, through their wandering lives, a portion have gradually come to rely on selling their bodies to get by, and that has influenced the perception many cities in the Federation have of them, with Anksai girls gradually becoming a euphemism for a certain group of people.

Back to the matter at hand, He Ao wasn’t sure if Roy had selected any particular Dancing Girl, but Roy indeed had a habit of selecting Dancing Girls. It wouldn’t hurt to try, at worst, he could just say he remembered wrong.

"One moment, please."

The female waiter took out a tablet, touched He Ao’s wristband, and Roy’s exclusive order information appeared, "Mr. Roy, Qi Rui is currently performing in Dance Hall 18. Would you like me to book a solo performance for you?"

"No need," He Ao waved his hand, "Just get me a ticket for Dance Hall 18."

"Dance Hall 18 is a semi-restricted dance hall, the ticket price is 30 federal coins," the female waiter said as she handed He Ao a pink chip card, "Once you enter, give this ticket to the waiter and you can get a free glass of sparkling water, enjoy the dance performance."

After paying, He Ao took the chip card and followed the directions to Dance Hall 18.

The dance hall’s main door was originally closed, but as He Ao approached, it slowly opened.

The tumultuous music hit him like a wave.

He Ao handed the chip card to an attendant, declined the offered glass of sparkling water with a wave of his hand, and turned his gaze to the center of the dance hall.

There, a woman with a fiery figure and wine-red long hair was performing with passion.

The moment he saw her, countless fragmented memories surfaced in He Ao’s mind.

Within these jumbled memories, He Ao saw flickering lights, a sexy woman, and disjointed scenes.

In this memory, Roy had not touched the woman, but his body became weaker and weaker, until he walked out of the dance hall with a blank mind.

The woman in the memories gradually merged with the fervently performing figure before him.

He Ao took out a hundred-dollar bill, folding it as he walked.

At this moment, during the peak of the performance, a huge crowd excitedly sprinkled banknotes on the stage, stuffing them into the dancing girl’s garter.

By the time He Ao reached the front of the stage, the hundred-dollar bill in his hand had been folded into an isosceles triangle.

Hundred-dollar bills were not common in the Federation; not to mention the prevalence of electronic payment, even when using cash, small denominations under twenty dollars were the basic circulating currency, convenient for use. Fifty-dollar bills were rare, and hundred-dollar bills even more so.

However, a hundred-dollar bill had another meaning in dance halls.

If you directly stuffed it into the dancing girl’s garter or threw it on the stage, the hundred-dollar bill would be considered a tip,

but if you folded it into a triangle and stuffed it into the dancing girl’s garter, that would be an ’invitation’.

Although the dance hall had restrictions on behavior within the hall, it did not limit the dancing girls from ’dating’ customers in private.

Of course, the dance hall would take a cut from the money earned in such cases.

The act of ’invitation’ must be carried out under the watchful gaze of the dancing girl. If the dancing girl did not agree to the invitation, she could pull the money out of her garter and throw it on the floor; the money would then be considered a tip.

The woman with the wine-red hair paused for a moment when she saw He Ao, then she calmly watched as He Ao slid the bill across the skin of her thigh, inserting it into her garter.

"I’ll wait for you in the cafe on the first floor."

He Ao flashed a smile, turned around, and left the dance hall.

The dancing girl watched He Ao’s retreating figure disappear, then she snapped back to reality and continued to dance as if nothing had happened.

He Ao made his way out of the White Rabbit Dance Hall, returned to the elevator, and just as the elevator doors were about to close, a glimpse of a red dress darted out of his line of sight.

Immediately after, the elevator doors closed completely.

He Ao quickly pressed the door open button, the elevator doors reopened, and then he rushed out amid the puzzled looks of the people inside, heading straight for where the figure in the red dress had appeared.

There, only a red-dressed female waiter stood by the door, quietly waiting for customers.

"Sir, would you like to come in and have a look?"

The waitress asked with a smile.

He Ao looked up at the sign above, ’Mons Dance Hall.’

Had he seen wrong...

He Ao shook his head, declined the waitress’s invitation, and slowly walked back to the elevator.

For a split second just before, he thought he had seen the ’Dancing Girl’ again, the Priest of the Witch Church who once killed Mu Xiu’s family.

According to the remarks made during the first official mission system settlement, the Dancing Girl should have been imprisoned by now.

He Ao rubbed his temples, once again stepping into the elevator.

He still needed to find a way to confirm the current situation of the ’Dancing Girl.’
