Chapter 1455: Chapter 1455: Pot
Although Micah Will didn’t know exactly what was happening, something that made Pendleton suddenly turn against the Bead Pulse with such ruthlessness, he was certain it had to be the man right in front of him who was behind it!
After all, just last night he had been in contact with several key figures of Pendleton.
They had even decided internally within the Bead Pulse to end their long indecision and pledge loyalty to Pendleton.
But who would’ve thought that in just one night, Pendleton’s key figures would join forces with Andrew to assault the Young Family and slaughter the Bead Pulse!
And worse still, they didn’t even give him a chance to explain himself!
At this moment!
Micah Will’s eyes saw nothing else.
Only Julius Reed.
The man sitting leisurely in the chair!
Whoosh!
Micah took a step forward, his longsword slashing through the air!
As a Vein Holder, he was extraordinarily powerful!
“You old bastard, with kidneys failing like that, and you still want to kill me?” Julius Reed chuckled softly as his body swiftly dodged and his single hand slammed forward!
Bang!
Before Micah’s longsword could strike, he felt a numbness in his wrist, forcing him to stumble three steps back!
It was at this moment Julius suddenly got up!
His right hand lunged forward!
Clang!
A piercing crash.
Julius’s Dragon King Ring struck Micah’s longsword!
Forcing him back several meters!
“You…” Micah trembled with rage!
He couldn’t beat him in a fight, and couldn’t outwit him in words.
Was the Golden Envoy of the Royal Vein really this strong?
The elite fighters of the Bead Pulse, originally prepared to execute Julius Reed, were already embroiled in a chaotic battle with Pendleton.
No one had the time to come to his aid.
“Dante Danvers!” Micah turned around, abandoning his intent to kill Julius. “Dante, I was just on the phone with you last night, and today you’re here to kill me?”
“Heh, Micah. The reason you’re being killed is that you deserve to die! Tonight, when I cut off your head, I’ll toast to your demise.” The chubby key figure of Pendleton, Dante Danvers, crossed his arms and sneered: “I never imagined that a sleazy old man like you would still have this kind of guts.”
“Explain yourself!”
Micah was furious.
“If you’re going to kill me, at least let me die understanding why! If I truly deserve it, release them, and I’ll kill myself on the spot!” Micah stepped into the center of the Bead Pulse elite and shouted loudly.
He glanced warily at Julius Reed, only to find that the man hadn’t approached to kill him.
“Fine, if he wants to die understanding, let him understand clearly.” A skinny man with a goatee stroked it while giving a wicked laugh: “Andrew, stand down!”
Shwick!
Hearing this, Andrew pulled out his silver spear!
An elder of the Bead Pulse fell to his knees, his heart pierced.
The silver spear now stained red with blood, yet miraculously, Andrew’s pure white robes bore no stain.
The members of the Bead Pulse stared at Micah in despair, their hands gripping weapons trembling uncontrollably.
Pendleton, after all, was still Pendleton.
As the organization that ruled over the Seven Veins, the Bead Pulse had always heard rumors of Pendleton’s decline.
But today’s battle taught them: even a starving camel is larger than a horse.
Perhaps only the Royal Vein could match them?
“Old Micah. Do you still wish to deny conspiring with the Bead Pulse to assassinate the Alliance Hierarch?” The goateed man named Black Cloud smirked coldly and asked, “The evidence is already clear. Do you still refuse to admit it?”
“Black Cloud, you’re full of shit! I haven’t even seen the Alliance Hierarch in over half a year. How could I have killed him?” Micah roared with explosive anger!
A futile and impotent rage!
“Oh, Old Micah, still won’t admit it?” Black Cloud sneered endlessly: “Then let me ask you this—have you been in contact with the Bead Pulse?”
“I have!” Micah’s heart sank. How did Pendleton know about this?
At this point, denying it would only make him seem more suspicious.
“And you’re claiming ignorance of the Bead Pulse’s plans to assassinate the Alliance Hierarch?” Black Cloud pushed further.
“I… I know about it.” Micah indeed knew—the news of the Bead Pulse making this move was already widespread.
But didn’t they fail?
Andrew had turned on them at the last minute, saving the Alliance Hierarch and almost killing the Bead Pulse.
His connection with the Bead Pulse was purely due to the City Lord.
“Very well! Then let me ask you again!” Dante Danvers joined in, questioning sternly: “Are you denying that you and the Bead Pulse jointly assassinated the Alliance Hierarch?”
“The Alliance Hierarch is dead?” Micah was stunned.
He had always assumed that the two key figures were referring to the *attempted* assassination of the Alliance Hierarch.
But who would have guessed that the Alliance Hierarch was actually dead!
“Old Micah, your acting is as terrible as your bedroom skills.” Black Cloud licked his fingers, playfully smoothing his goatee: “Andrew saw it with his own eyes. Do you think you can deny it?”
“Andrew?”
Micah turned abruptly, glaring at the cold-faced Andrew in his white robes, holding the silver spear. He roared, “You’re slandering me!”
“That day, when the Bead Pulse failed to kill the Alliance Hierarch, I fought them off. But who would’ve thought you would sneak in afterward and catch us off guard. The fatal injury on the Hierarch’s body was caused by your Bead Pulse treasure—the Nine Heavens Thorn.”
Andrew raised the tip of his spear, pointing it at Micah: “As a member of Pendleton, you’re guilty of the same treason as the Bead Pulse!”
“I didn’t do it!” Micah clenched his teeth, his entire body trembling with rage.
He was simply minding his own business, yet disaster struck out of nowhere.
“Then tell me, Micah, why are you wearing a white mourning cloth on your waist?” Black Cloud sneered wickedly: “Is it not because the Alliance Hierarch is dead, and you’re in mourning for him?”
“I…” Micah took a deep breath, forcing himself to remain calm: “My son is dead. Shouldn’t I wear the mourning cloth?”
When they set out, he had heard of Kamden Will’s death and was heartbroken. In his grief, he ordered all members of the Bead Pulse to wear white mourning sashes at the waist.
Though unorthodox, given Micah’s affection for his youngest son, no one objected.
But now, it was utterly inexplicable!
“Which son of yours died?” Dante pointed his chubby finger at Micah, demanding: “Speak!”
“…” Micah was speechless.
Kamden Will was still alive.
Alive and well.
“Kill him!” Black Cloud barked, his voice dripping with mirthless laughter: “Take his head to honor the Alliance Hierarch!”
As soon as the words fell!
Andrew’s spear struck like a dragon!
Bang! Bang!
Two Bead Pulse elites were instantly knocked aside, and the spear shot straight toward Micah!
“Watch out!” Osvaldo Will swung his sword in a sweeping arc!
Clang!
The spear clashed against the sword!
Andrew’s wrist jolted, and his feet left the ground in a sudden leap!
The spear deflected the sword and thrust again!
“Go!” Osvaldo shouted, shoving Micah forcefully aside and raising his sword to block once more!
Crack!
The blade shattered!
The spear plunged deeply into Osvaldo’s body.
“Run!” Taking advantage of Andrew being momentarily tied up, Silas Will unleashed a powerful strike, his figure cutting through the battlefield like lightning, carving out a path of blood!
With Andrew briefly out of the picture, Pendleton’s encirclement was broken.
Jace Will followed close behind, escaping with Silas Will!
“I’ll have my revenge!” Micah roared hoarsely, following Silas out as well!
The disciples of the Bead Pulse fought desperately, buying time for their Vein Holder to escape.
“Capture him!” Black Cloud’s fury was palpable as he stomped his feet: “Useless! All of you are useless!”
By the time Andrew shook off the Bead Pulse’s self-sacrificial attacks, the three had already fled far away.
The ground was littered with corpses.
The stench of blood hung heavily in the air, wafting with the breeze.
Gabriel Young raised her sleeve to cover her nose, her brow furrowing slightly.
Thud!
As the last Bead Pulse disciple collapsed, Andrew retracted his silver spear, now standing tall in the crystal hall.
“A school of shrimp perished, but the big fish slipped away.” Black Cloud sighed, clasping his hands toward Julius Reed: “Many thanks for your intelligence.”
“Speaking of which, the Young Family’s ancestors did have some ties to Pendleton. Now that Pendleton faces such troubles, it’s only natural for me to assist.”
After Julius Reed finished speaking, Gabriel Young stood there dumbfounded.
Since when had these two started working together?
“Heh heh, though you say that, I hear you’re a Golden Envoy of the Royal Vein?” Black Cloud said with a sinister smirk.
At those words, Pendleton’s elites drew their blades.
The air was heavy with killing intent.
